Its totally possible to hold them off outside the gates. I started with 1 war outpost in the corner closest to the water outside each gate, two banks of archers on top each. Then some arcane brimstone in front of each gate. This allows the archer banks to fire both at incopming waves all the way up the ramp, but also at enemies attacking the gates. After that start I basically just added more war outposts with archers (extra volley upgrade), more brimstone and some random ice traps along the path up to the tower. I used a combination of bow, shotgun and ice trinket.
Let me just say the bouncing wall launcher that is pretty freaking hilarious and it's funny to watch orcs just hit the wall looks so brutal but yet funny
You want to make one side a stronghold so they can't get past. That way, you don't have to split your attention. Walking back and forth lowers your overall DPS output. Also, you'll want to get them into choke points and try to kill as many of them at one as possible so you can get extra money from combos.
@@robertlyon There's a higher difficulty... Even nightmare in this game isn't that hard to solo 5 skull compared to previous games. No need to be a sarcastic little punk, though.
@@UndefinedBailiwick The guy was unable to solo it without going to both sides, it gives a bigger challenge that only these who tried know how good it is to solve this "puzzle".

i have error on this map when i start it game just crash i try to run it 10x times reainstall the game and verifying integrity of files on steam but still same ... can anyone send me savegame file only after that mission not 100% or give me some fix or something pls.. am desperate to play.. thanks
They can't go to other side. They will break the barricade. You have no choice but to do both sides. But inside there are two stairs. You can barricade one stairs so they all go to the other stairs.
@@anchapin I just finished it on War Mage while only fighting in the inside. I didn't think it was possible. LoL! I barricaded one staircase so that ALL go to the other. On the other stairs, I barricaded so they ALL have to go through one square with a tar pit on it to slow them down creating a blockade then lava pit. I put archers and traps where they all bunch up. As I went through each stage, I added more barricades, tar pit square, lava pit, archers on each level of the spiraling stairs. Now trying to figure out the next mission.
I just finished this not too long ago solo & I thought it was one of the easiest War Scenarios so far. I just used a ton of archers, snow blowers & ice ability. I didn't have any door breached. It was super fun.

I did this map with just the roof lasers and blockade on 1 the stars. they could not make it top due walking through laser hell.

Could you barricade one of the doors to make them all come to one side? That way you can save money on not doubling up flip traps and snow blowers.
They can't go to other side. They will break the barricade. You have no choice but to do both sides. But inside there are two stairs. You can barricade one stairs so they all go to the other stairs.

I suspect a lot of people opt to not use archers for this one because it looks like you cant get a good line of fire with them. Archer banks be OP. :)
