Honestly a green lantern and martian manhunter comic could be pretty good
Yeah have it were gl ( hal or John) is investigating something but all clues point to a group of Martians committing the crimes so gl goes looking for MM but turns out he's already looking into it himself. John then reveals that not only is it Martians but it's green Martians. They can then go on a cosmic road trip to try and find out what's happening.
Funny, Manhattan is blue and it's DC, Mephisto is red and it's Marvel... huh, go figure, they do stay true to their colours.
"So...you're supposed to be God?"
"Is that a problem?"
"Eh, just a...little problem. _stifled laugh_ "

Marcus Hamner that’s good because I ordered both the button and the 2 issues of doomsday clock and they come in the mail tomorrow so I’m super excited to read them
Fun fact: the issue with all of those Easter Eggs is drawn by Howard Porter, who was the artist on JLA when Grant Morrison was writing it. A lot of the things on that page are references to that run on JLA, most notably The Philosopher’s Stone, which is the main MacGuffin in the Rock of Ages arc.
Which reminds me... Sal, PLEASE do JLA: Rock of Ages on Back Issues! It’s completely insane but really awesome, and would fit the time constraints reasonably well. Plus, people will get to see where “Darkseid is” comes from.

Batman 22 hit me at just the right time in my life. I read this issue when I was coming to terms with realizing my dad was not the father I had been longing for deep down. That comic really helped me process that and brought me to tears, it’s one of my favorite issues ever.
That rocks, dude. Not the sad part, but the fact that this comic hit you like that.

Could the reason psycho pirate's mask interacts with the button and psycho pirate can remember the universe is that it is emotion based powers and the emotions are able to transcend dimensions and escape manhattan's powers, and that is why it took Barry to remember wally and tether him to the universe
And later we find Psycho Pirate in 5th dimensional library. Pounding on the shelves, shouting, "Make me stay, Batman! Don't let me go!"

Most people love it, overwhelmingly, but this is internet fandom, so there will always be a haters corner complaining about it not being 'muh Batman'.
just like there will always be fanbois drooling over a Batman that carelessly gets he throat slit by Holly Robinson.
My interpretation is that there's two cosmic forces at odds here, the Speedforce (or some force inside it) and Dr. Manhattan. The Speedforce really wants to point out to the Justice League that there is something wrong with the current universe by placing the Button and giving Barry the chance to get Wally and Jay back etc, whereas Dr Manhattan tries to prevent that from happening but at the same time can't directly intervene.

Irony of Tom King not writing Batman well as of late is that the Batman Annual last month was THE BEST Batman or just single issue of a comic book for the entire year! I literally sobbed at the ending with old Selina Wayne in the batmobile with the tiny kitten mourning Bruce. Ripped me apart!

Great vid, loved this story when it came out, even without any real "button" resolution. Just a thought: could the blood re liquifying be a nod to 'cloning' or 'restoring' the Comedian in Doomsday Clock #2 ?! Im sure its not the case and will probably be contradicted by the next issue, but in going over the book again its the first thought that came to mind. Cheers!

I dont understand why anyone wants to see the Justice League fight Watchmen characters. Batman, or hell, even Green Arrow, could take down the Crimebusters and the Minutemen togehter short of Manhattan himself. One of the big points of Watchmen was that all those people kind of sucked.

The Batman/Reverse Flash fight in this might actually be one of my favourite fights in DC comics honestly. It's so fucking sick watching Batman fight for his life in slow motion using nothing but a little prep time

One thing, Marvel has done both recently for mini events and back in 2008 for main events used the actual books for big events sometimes with an alpha and omega issue. With all of the messiah and Necrosha books, Age of X being examples, as well as in smaller scale venom inc and World's collide all using the normal books to tell major parts of the story with venom inc having an alpha and omega issue and worlds collide not.
Honestly was hoping to see your famous Alan Moore impression Sal.
I love how Thomas' entire advice for Bruce is to be a good father to his son, the way he could never be and be happy. He emphasized the need for Bruce to act as a father. So what does Tom King do ? Have Bruce propose without even telling Damian about it, and then proceed to completely ignore him. There is absolutely no way the Button was written by King, as that hack couldn't write Batman even if his life dependent on it. The Button is 100% the product of Johns and Williamson, and it shows by actually being a good book. Great episode as usual guys.
The fact Geoff Johns had to rewrite Tom’s part of the Button says a lot.

I just assumed that Reverse Flash was sent back to the place he came from after Dr. Manhattan killed him, which would be the Batcave.
The way I interpret it is that when Reverse Flash realized he was about to be nuked by Doctor Manhattan he tried to make a fast getaway and escape the way he came but wasnt fast enough to escape it fully. So he gets halfway and his destination set before dying. Its also why he oesnt get fully disintegrated like everyone else Doctor Manhattan kills. He missed half of him.
I like comicsexplained theory that Reverse Flash tried to run from Manhattan maybe even put the button back or he was just running somewhere safe (and he knew Batman was down and out). He only got hit with half the blast resulting in half of his body being messed up.
Wasn’t there a tease in the previous flash issue like issue 20 where reverseflash indicated he would be looking for batman?

It's funny you say that Johns ghost wrote the Batman issues because I felt that when I wrote it. It read very similarly to Flashpoint to me and didn't seem in line with Tom Kings writing style.

Ok I know it's been a while since this video was released, but watching it after the recent issues of Doomsday Clock, what if the blood coming off the button at then end is the moment he decided to bring back the Comedian back to life, so you were right that it went back to where it came from I guess.
I think the reason why Manathan kept the button is because he realised that if Reverse Flash could trace him with it other could so he just kept it to be sure Flash or Batman or Superman don't find him
