  • The phases and composition of Dental Amalgam are very important if one needs to understand various properties of this restorative material.     Innes and Youdelis in 1963 introduced high copper amalgam...
    Asgar in 1974 introduced the single composition high copper amalgam

    Sir can we give gic base for amalgam restoration... I was thinking of doing this technique as Gic is flouride releasing and chemically bonds to tooth whereas amalgam have most superior strength so we can take benifit of both of them.

      Yes. Gic is used as based under Amalgam from many years. Because in deep cavity Amalgam does require base since its metallic restoration. Here is the link for videos if you want understand varnish base and liner

      Single.composition high copper amalgam require less mercury.. but not others..

      If mercury residue need to be reduced then various steps can be taken like eames techniques, better condensation
