  • Direct filling gold is those gold restorative materials that are manufactured for compaction directly into prepared cavities. It's a very important topic from Dental Materials and Operative Dentistry. In this video direct filling gold by Dr Suresh Shenvi from Aspire32 discusses the material aspect, types, degassing, and properties in a very simplified way. Direct filling gold restoration is although rare but direct filling gold MCQ is very commonly asked. I hope this direct filling gold lecture make it simple.
    This video of Aspire 32 is made by Dr. Suresh Shenvi who has cleared various exams like ADAT, NBDE from the USA, DHA from Dubai, and various Indian Entrance exams like PGI, KCET, NEET. I am MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics by profession. I am also an author of dental books on the entrance exam and I am also currently a faculty at KLE University and a receiver of best teacher award.

    You said that cohesive form of gold is used to prevent cold welding. But cold welding is an important features of gold, if cohesive prevents cold welding, how can we use cohesive gold for DFG?

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  Před 3 lety +1

      I am not sure if I mentioned that. Cohesive gold is covered with gas during transportation by making it non cohesive and then in clinic u heat it to remove the gas to make is cohesive

    • @jlalpekhlua9754
      @jlalpekhlua9754 Před 3 lety

      @@Aspire32 Sir what is the differences between cohesive gold and non cojesive gold?

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  Před 3 lety

      Non cohesive gold has gas layer on it and wont undergo cold welding

    • @jlalpekhlua9754
      @jlalpekhlua9754 Před 3 lety

      @@Aspire32 what about choehsive gold? I'm still confused.. You told me that we need to heat it to remove the gas to make it cohesive, it means that cohesive has also gas layer on it..

    • @Aspire32
      @Aspire32  Před 3 lety

      The manufacturer develops in pure cohesive gold form which does not have any gas layer on it but when it's being transported it absorbs gases from atmosphere, here it becomes non cohesive since the gas layer will prevent the gold from cold welding if u use it this way, so the dentist when recives it, he he heats it again to remove the gas layer and make it cohesive again and then condenses in cavity
