He doesn’t leg kick southpaws nearly as much though I’ve noticed. Although he can kick from any stance, he usually leg kicks with his right leg. He’s more dangerous against Orthodox fighters.

Why would Alex underestimate Jamal when he was literally right there in the corner the night Hill won the belt and defeated Glover? That's ridiculous... and Alex has been dreaming about this fight ever since that night. You could see the rage in his eyes that night, I think the media has really dropped the ball on telling the whole lore for this fight.
I love watching either man destroy people so I can't wait for 300 this weekend. I feel like it may be a little early for Hill to take on a monster leg destroyer like Alex so soon after any kind of surgery on his leg.

It's hard to bet against a healthy, non dehydrated poatan. His striking builds throughout the fight. Both fighters have knockout power, but one has an aray of leg kicks to worry about.
Agreed. But maybe takedowns could play a role too. If Hill can mix in some takedowns first 2 rounds, could tire Alex and also make him a bit more hesitant to be in too close, limiting the ability to land kicks / calf kicks specifically

It’s the speed that can make a difference. Jamahal has phenomenal speed for LHW. It’s always hard to tell until the bell rings tho

I tore my achillles no word of a lie I was able to walk again after 4months and was able to run at 6 n dunk after 9-10 months n I’m 28 it depends on where you tear it not all are the same the lower in the Achilles is worst I.E KD but if it’s higher you can return faster

Two words: ring rust. Active fighter compared to a person who has been recovering for months
I don’t believe ring rust is real. Sparring knocks that off, and ring rust is not a factor for the top of the roster, I’ve never seen that be an issue, in ways, taking extended breaks has helped more than not. GSP, jones, gaethje, khamzat, none of these fighters had rust and they all have extended breaks from what they normally did.

Joe wants to prove Hill has power and uses Johnny Walker? Johnny Walker might have one of the weirdest chins of all that, he got KO’d 4 times in one fight in the regional scene, he forgot where he was from one illegal knee, got KO’d by Ankalaev. Walker isn’t the best example.
They also mention the OSP fight where he beat the ever living hell out of OSP, just go rewatch the ending of that fight and tell me why he couldn’t knock down OSP if he landed that many clean shots without OSP defending and fighting back.
Imo Hill is like the Gaethje of the LHW, he hits hard enough to hurt you every time he connects and he CAN knock you out. But it’s more rare as he gets TKO’s, if he wins it’ll be via TKO not KO.
Casuals thinks Pereira has a glass chin because he got knocked out by Izzy and Izzy apparently has “pillow hands” but do yall not remember how many clean shots Alex ate from Jiri and Jan?
Another thing people don’t realise is that Hill being southpaw doesn’t help him as much as you think it does. Sure the leg kicks from Alex aren’t going to be as effective but one thing people don’t realise is that being southpaw makes you a lot more open to the left hook, just like being orthodox leaves you open for a southpaw fighters lead right hook. Obviously it’s a combat sport and anything can happen, but I’m leaning on Pereira knocking him out. You cannot convince me that over 25 minutes that Hill and aggressive awkward boxer is going to not get caught by Pereira just via the difference in fight IQ. Not only is Hill a southpaw but he throws that jab with his shoulder down which means there is literally no defense to the left hook when the left hook is coming.
Yes Hill is most likely focusing on improving that aspect of his game during this camp but even then, if you fight and succeed with that your whole career I’m sure that within the 25 minutes he will have a habit of dropping that shoulder and Pereira won’t punish him for it and let’s Hill feel comfortable before timing that left to land.

imo the biggest issue for hill (aside from his achilles) is that hes limited with his striking range. hes fantastic in that boxing range, but once he gets closer into that clinch range, he tends to panic a bit. this is probably the clearest in the glover fight. every time glover closed the distance with a shot, him and hill would wildly swing at each other, both missing most of their strikes. on top of that, he isnt too good off his back foot either. hes a pressure fighter, so we dont see it often, but when hes getting backed up hes basically full on retreating rather than trying to set up traps or big power punches. meanwhile we have seen alex do devastating damage both in the clinch and while backing up. either way, this is gonna be a good fight. maybe not a back and forth war like people want, but it will for sure be a chess match similar to till vs whitaker.

Both are 6'4" both have 79" reach, Jamal is 32 and Alex is 36. When Jamal beat Glover, it was Glover's swan song (at 43 yrs old). Jamahal doesn't have the experience Alex does, and Alex has beat 4 champions (Izzy, Prochazka, Blochowicz, and Strickland).
Also this is a REVENGE Fight for Alex he 100% is going in there to get this one BACK for Glover that fact alone IMO changes Hill's chances in the fight...

Alex will win do to doctor stoppage , it takes a min one year before the Achilles can start to build strengh and 4 months after that you would be back to 90 % , his ability to move and put power will be greatly compromised. With Alex lower calf kicks will it may cause a switch stance and put his injuries forward .Hill will not quit but he is coming back way too soon

I’m going for hill. Even without the injury people are still not giving hill the respect he deserves. Him and glover’s fight proved to me it’s not just power that he’s got. An Achilles takes a full year on average for an nfl player but sprinting is different than striking. The biggest issue coming back this early is that he’s just now able to train full bore. Same with John jones pec injury. It takes 6 month till you can even train the same intensity that you were before so fighting 8 months in means you only been healthy for 2 months. Periera got to fight Jiri and Hill on their return fight from injury. That’s a huge advantage. Especially with Hill coming back under a year.
Leg kicks. And the left hook. Jamal leans in alot. And also heavy on his lead leg. He has the punchers chance with his power for sure.
