Transfer documents maybe, but not apps, unless they are APK.

You can backup the app with file manger + on the phone and transfer the backup into the files on the tablet with usb

Plus apparently solid explorer can do it too and that is a must purchase app. Think it's like 59p and you can unrar , unzip and loads of great features. I'll give that other file explorer a go even if you have to pay. And I don't need it as I have solid explorer
