When printing/cutting acrylic how do you get rid of smell. I have a in-line fan but smell is too much.
Hi! After I installed my in-line fan, it helped the odor but it doesn't completely make it go away. Unfortunately, I have the same issue and still have an odor, just not as strong. I have yet to figure out how to get rid of the smell completely :(

@@ionbuilds I don’t see why not as long as the temps are decent and not too hot. If it’s running all day, the outdoor heat may or may not play a part in contributing to it overheating but I’m not sure on that.
Have you ever gotten any complaints of the smell living in a town home? I am in the same boat and I ordered the filter but now it won’t be here for 3-4 months?!😩 I’m wondering how the smell is outside and if it stinks up your apartments?
Oh gosh, that’s a long wait!! The odor is pretty prominent outside while the machine is running, but I haven’t gotten any complaints from neighbors. It goes away fairly quick when the machine stops, but it’s definitely noticeable when on.

Hi, love your channel and all the great advice and ideas! I have a question, I have my glowforge in a small room, vented out the window, with the inline fan you recommend, but the smell is still pretty strong in that room-is that common? Or should I invest in the Levoit air purifier? I worry it will be a permanent odor in that room :( Emma
Hi Emma! Thank you so much! The odor shouldn’t be strong so I would recommend trying the following:
1. Make sure there are no leaks coming from the hose and/or areas where the hose and fan attach. You can do this by waiting until it’s dark enough and have your machine run while you look for leaks with a flashlight. The flashlight should pick up obvious smoke. If you find any leaks, you should try sealing them with aluminum tape.
2. Do you live in cold weather climate? If so, this can cause more odor since the cold air tries to get through the window cracks. I noticed this with mine. You can try using foam window sealers around the piece you use to prop the window open to make it more secure and tight.
3. Have you been using the inline fan for a while? If so, you’ll need to take apart the fan and clean it once in a while to get the buildup out. This can cause a weak airflow if it’s dirty.
The leaks are the biggest thing, so I would definitely start there if the others don’t apply!
