Nice to see my challenge make it to the larger CZcamsrs. It was madness, but I need to do a part 2!
You created a very enjoyable challenge, thank you for your service.
🙏🏻
Props dude
Lol good job - One of the most entertaining hours I've had in awhile, haha!
@@ambiguousamphibian Just because your reply is so recent, I want to take a minute to just say how much we all love your style of commentary and the way you play these games. I don't expect a response, but keep on doing what you're doing man.
“If you burn the portrait, that destroys his soul” so what you’re saying is… four children… didn’t HAVE to die
They were weak, it would have happened anyway
No, it's a necessary sacrifice for the Blood God.
you gotta weed out the undesirebles circle of life
Only flames tempered with the souls of miserable children are hot enough to destroy THE CLOWN.
Acceptable losses.
it will never stop being hilarious to me that sims 1 added a mechanic for when your sims have low fun and social, but instead of helping like something like the social bunny in 2, it just actively makes it harder to get your sims in a good mood
Sims 1 IS a hard game lmao, wish there were achievements.
It's like real life. Once you have depression it only goes downwards

"The Sims 1 was extremely difficult."
That's an understatement. I still remember my sims all starving to death and me telling them to eat something, but they throw a fit because they're too hungry to make dinner and die shortly after.
The first time I ever had a sim die (in a fire obviously) I was maybe 8? And it scared me so bad that I had nightmares about the grim reaper and wouldn’t play for years haha. They also take a full in-game hour to get up out of their beds. Which I can’t lie and say I don’t understand.
Nothings more dreadful than being extremely hungry, and only having ingredients in the house.
Going back to the Sims 1 (mostly because of the old mods that were easier to make) is a chore. There is no weekend in The Sims 1.
to be fair i've found myself in the same situation in real life
In this thread: people with depression
Turn Pushmeet into an adult using the "Age of Instant" charm from Makin' Magic and have her take over the world.
No
She is evil.
@GalacticGourd no
This made no sense to me
Seconded
"It's a school night, so bedtime is at 3 am"
No surprise here. That also happens if my child sims have both their parents, a grandparent and a nanny.
You truly have a gift for creating coherent and hilarious narratives out of insanity.
Yeah...I like that.
The first day was literally kids going to school, then coming home and either reading or playing, with snacks. And AA is able to make it such an incredible adventure. His narration is so engrossing.
I lost it at "unwashed, unhappy children" 😂
Fun fact about The Sims 1! If you launch fireworks inside a room where every tile except one is covered with a rug then the firework will have no choice but to land in that open space. And then as soon as the fire spreads, it will spread to *every single tile in the room at once.* No one escapes from that kind of inferno!
I love how you JUST HAPPEN TO KNOW this information 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
Now you made me think of something else. Run two sims games at the same time. Make TWO different house designs, same family, leave free will on and see how long they survive and how successful the two families are. DO IT
Family feud - generation edition

@@ambiguousamphibian I mean I could deliver him to your basement but cooperation is not guaranteed.
The Sims 1 Sims win because they never die of old age.
One family is given free will.
One family is commandeered by the god on the IRL side of the screen.
It's just scientific rigor.
I loved the organic reveals of all the children names as the video went on
I remember that there is a "clown exterminator" (or a similar name) option somewhere on the phone. They look like MIB agents and use a weird gun...
I was really rooting for Flap-a-Boo... she was so well put together.
For me as a brazillian The Sims 1 have a spot in my heart for many reasons but two in particular that made a impression on me was the game be translated to Brazilian portuguese not just portuguese and even portuguese was rare brazilian portuguese even more...
And the second was the soundtrack with this mix of bossa nova/samba with even cuica sounds in some musics, that was fenomenal to experience as a child.
That was one of the few games we had access to at home, so we played it, for years on end, until we found out Sims 2 had been released.

The mesmerizing modern interpretation of "Lord of the Flies." 😂
Looking at that clown makes me shiver, horrible memories. Never stop making these sims vids please.
There was actually a UK television show where they left kids to do what they want in a house for a week. They were supervised and had a therapist on site, and they could call to go home at any point, but the adults on set were otherwise encouraged to not talk to or interfere with the kid's antics. It's on CZcams somewhere. It went about as well as this, with more major home damage and emotional trauma.
Stupid red tape
This challenge is literally a Fallout Vault experiment. Loving every second of it.
What amazes me is that we can still play Sims 1 in 2022 and still get fascinating stories out of it exactly like this. Talk about an enduring game.
Greatest thumbnail ever, both terrifying and infinitely intriguing. Top notch
Also tastefully pixelated
but it didn't reveal the even more terrifying moment...
... of the clown getting out of the stairless pool!
I remember doing this as a kid with a friend also on the Sims 1. Eventually the game forced us to create (his) parents. If I remember correctly that is.
If there were 8 sims already in the family the game wouldn't be able to create parents due to the 8 sim limit on households in TS1, if there were less, I've never seen it or heard about it but I guess it's possible, this game is so beautifully broken.
@@bigboredthing and the best part is that I probably was 6 or 7 when my friend at the time and I did that haha
Same. I think I had a bearded guy in a toga as a caretaker for the household of children
I remember the six kid household caretaker I made had a bio that read "grumpy when sleepy" because I thought that would influence gameplay somehow.
@@OrigamiPhoenix omggg dude yeah I also thought the bios did anything? I'd make two sims I intended to be married, and the game would always just start them as roommates- so I'd try putting "so and so looooooves his wife so much", like that would help somehow lmao
I was like, 7, I didn't understand how computers worked!
“Dukakis”, “cornbread” “huckleberry”
I’ll never struggle to name my Sims again. 😂
this is the greatest thing i’ve seen in a while. it’s like home alone if it were a survival tv show where the prize is you don’t go to military school. i love it
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Residential Royale!
The fact that the entire clown bit just played out like a horror movie amazes me
One minute in and this sounds like “Lord of the Flies” with some extra steps
7:20 so a fire started, chaos appeared, people were suffering, this piece of drama...
was made even more dramatic with the happiest music ever whilst everyone's dying and that is why these youtubers are successful
Felt a great connection to Flap-a-Boo lol. I, too, grew up with a telescope, six other children, love pizza, and had a psychotic sister.
9:46 Pushmeet is literally laughing while the other girl is taken away. It's a sign that she is, indeed, a psycho.
Please make more of these Sims videos!! The way you narrate them is hilarious. I love it! I've already watched all the other ones, i need more! Please keep 'em coming!
Definitely it's the narration that slays it. Also the unorthodox way of playing the games. "LetsGameItOut" also does something similar, as well as "MittenSquad" (more of a challenge run)
@@dimitar4y I see what you mean, thanks for the recommendation. I'm enjoying LetsGameItOut's cooking simulator

ambiguousamphibian, I absolutely love your dialogue. If it weren't for your videos, I wouldn't never truly understood how to play Project Zomboid.
It was because of you, that I streamed the game and finally hit Affiliate.
I thank you so much for your continued entertainment. Keep up the smart, witty, and comical dialogue. You have a way with the English language and it shows!
Cheers from Guadalajara, Mexico!!
Thanks - Keep at it! Glad they helped somehow :)
wow congrats on that affiliate!
Hearing the sentence "This will galvanize the other children" is not what I expected to lift my spirits, but it is greatly appreciated nontheless
I did a similar challenge when I was a kid, except with pets instead of kids. You start out with one Sim buying 7 pets. Then, you furnish the home with a lot of pet stuff, fill all the food dishes, and then get rid of the Sim. When they run out of food, the cats will eat the mice and the dogs will drink from the toilet. It sounds kind of cruel now that I'm writing it out, but it was sort of interesting to watch.
This kind of content that Graystillplays use to do, thanks for keeping that style of gameplay alive.
It's just sad what that channel has become

You’re welcome!
hearing an amphibian say, "EA games challenge everything" is so satisfying
Your videos inspired me to get Sims 2 working on modern hardware. With updated walkthroughs, It has been a blast being able to play my childhood game again. Even got it setup and working for my sister who initially got me into the game lol
A challenge you could try is to capture multiple bigfoot. Then turn around and turn them into a money farm and see how much you can make.
I captured 3, put them in a shack with 3 computers, dragon plants, 3 beds, and put them to work writing novels. They all shared the same type of job outside of it. Once enough money was made, I moved them back into my family and killed them for their money. Resurrected them as zombies and moved them back into the shack. Ofc all on Sims 2.
"It's a school night, so bedtime is at... 3 AM" hits a little too close to home
This is like watching a kid's book about a horrible orphanage from the perspective of the school's director
Gotta love how you use these experiments to inform the uninitiated of the game's mechanics as well. From my own past attempt, I seem to remember boys can still order Servo to make salad.
5:18 "Bounded neither by night or day, at 3:53 AM he was still active." Somehow this line makes me crack up every time, like im watching an actual documentary about paranormal activity , within the context of the challenge and the clown npc its so ridiculous i cant
The difficulty of Sims 1 (without expansions) is something sadly lost in later offerings of the franchise.
It was very tedious, i played it last year. The base game is way better because it has less needed tasks to do per day. The complete edition has you spraying out bugs every minute, getting rid of pets and so many annoying mechanics that doesn't let you do your daily needs in time.
ambiguousamphibian's Sims videos made me want to play the Sims 1 and 2 again. I had most of the discs for Sims 1 already. Had an old PC laptop with Windows Vista on it, so it was easy to install the base game and expansion packs. I played the Sims 1 soooo much when I was a kid, but I'd argue that the Sims 1 doesn't hold up as well. It's so hard with how quickly the Sims mood bars drain. I used cheats. Th expansion packs had more content, which leads to a positive and negative experience gameplay-wise. I didn't keep playing the Sims 1 for long, and instead bought the Sims 2 discs, as they are still very cheap. Been re-playing Sims 2 for a while. It is leagues better than Sims 1, I gotta say.
@@damsen978 I really didn't mind those at all, the expansions also added the gene lamp I believe
Sims 2 can be pretty vicious too tbf,,, sims 3 has its moments but it mostly has the randomness without the intense difficulty. sims 4, comparatively, is like a sheet of cardboard (but I know some people like it a lot and I don't want to discredit that, obviously it's fun for some people and that's cool! I just need the random strikes of despair for my game)
@@user-uy7bn4kt2b yeah genie lamp came with living large I believe. I think technically npcs like the tragic clown were also added with that expansion
There was a real experiment like this with pre teen boys in the Uk and other than the counselor and the camera crew they were left alone for a week. It was a very interesting video. (They also did one with girls)
i loooove watching sims 1 videos. brings back so many memories!!
i’ve been obsessed with the sims since i was little. i remember one occasion when i created my real life family (i have six other siblings so i had to leave a few out lol) and it was complete chaos. the kids would constantly call for pizza deliveries, using up all the money because they were starving. then one of the sims finally started cooking and started a fire and we all burned. i miss those days lololol
I like this sequel to "It".
These children went hardcore and dragged the clown to hell in a blaze of glory.
Survival of the simmest.
Brought to you this summer by Michael Bay
A simply beautiful experiment. Would love another Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 or even an RCT original vid. These hit hard on the nostalgia meter.
I always love your The Sims content.
I can't believe how entertaining the Sims 1 still is. The commentary is hilarious!
I would love to see this with the Sims 2 haha!
GOLD! Please keep these sims 1 experiments coming!!!
“This video is about survival”
Oh dear, we’re in for a rough one lads
The scary part is, there were actual tv shows with this premise. Children alone without any adults intervening labelled as "social experiment"
I watch ambigious's vids at 0.25 speed so I can savour them longer
b-b--but at .25 the audio doesn't work and you won't be able to hear his awesome humor :(
I really like how the story is told its hilarious 😅
I love your humor dude. I nearly choked on my tea every few seconds
This is, and always will be, my favorite video you've ever done. Peak narration, editing, and horrendous story that captivated me from start to finish. Absolutely insane challenge, but an amazing video idea.
"It's a school night, so bedtime is at 3am"
bit too real on that one
sitting in a cramped stuffy laundry mat. your work always helps me forget about my woes
Pretty realistic that a bunch of kids home alone would eat nothing but chips all day, every day.
I can't believe you named a boy Dukakis.
That's... just a hell of a historical footnote.
“Lunacy, but also a pretty baller idea!” Frogman, The Great Philosopher
I’m living for these sims 1 videos. Please keep them coming!
The playing alone skills will come in handy when Dukakis gets crushed by a bush in 40 years. Shame he didn't play alone more in nature.
I love the little details in your videos, like Beethoven's 9th symphony that was added to Windows XP as one of the sample music files, that really took me back some years :)

I challenge you to taking over the neighborhood by marrying into each household with your own children. Ultimately forming a clan that rules over the town.

Heck yeah man I've been waiting for more amphibious adventures. I gotta know, is that your real cadence or is it more of a "tuber voice?" I can't tell why, but I quite enjoy the way you speak
You can tell from his older and very oldest videos that he developed this cadence and tone for reading off scripts. I kind of miss his style from the TORSOLO and TORSQUAD vids

8 children needing to survive in a house.. Sounds like a great horror scenario.. and indeed, you made it one.
Once the neighborhood fills up, you can always build a big ass party mansion, spam the Throw Party button and once everyone's In, only the most truly powerful of all can leave.
Except Drew Carry who eventually shows up, and you can try but he's unfortunatelly Immortal.
Omg I used to do this all the time as a kid. I used to keep one child at home so I would have something to do while the others were at school.
