They are weak now. That was pathetic. Show the real without cameras and the real alphas will show and take it as a challenge. God forbid some love for country happens.
I did basic and AIT there in 1992. It looks so much different now. We had old wooden buildings then during reception. And there was a lot more screaming.
“It is a proud privilege to be a soldier - a good soldier [with]discipline, self-respect, pride in his unit and his country, a high sense of duty and obligation to comrades and to his superiors, and a self-confidence born of demonstrated ability.” George S. Patton Jr.
Some people have gotten hurt getting off a bus or even pt on the first day there. Ive seen it. I did Basic and AIT in Fort Sill and was stationed there too.
nicetoeveryonedontpushit It's alot of standing around and it's very mentally exhausting to a new soldier.. However, once you get to your unit your used to the hurry up and wait mindset
Mitchell Wadsworth Ooh, I see. Unfortunately I cannot join I don't think due to depression in my teens like 10 years ago. I have never received a speeding ticket, don't use drugs or alcohol, do not smoke and am physically healthy. I went to sign up like 5 years ago but I was told no then called again and asked if I was still interested. I already graduated from college also. Maybe in the future if they DESPERATELY need me as an alternative I may join. :D I like how straight to the point they are and how they whip out the hesitation in people and the individuality so things get done right as a team. I always loved that because at school and work people always hesitate when working together and in the army they force you to hurry up and be efficient as a team. If there was an evacuation in the civilian world people would take their time and have no plan of action unless there was a military person or police officer conducting the evacuation. Maybe some confident people that can take leadership but still. My brain already functions in a save time ,act quick, be efficient and tactful type of way.
I was there in '95. Either they have calmed way the hell down or they are being "nice" for the camera. It was hell when I was there and there were no female recruits there at that time.
Many people will never understand... Sign this line... Lose your friends lose your family move when we say so do as you're told you're now playing human chess.
I hated the shorts at first they were too small lol,but when I got the right clothes it was cool, they added something toy food on Paris island and down here I had a blood disorder, you gotta have the right boots, mine were to small at first....
I unfortunately got rushed through my fitment for my uniform so my boots were not properly fitted i had to put socks in the back of my boots to keep my heels from getting obliterated
I went to basic at Ft Sill 30 years ago and my son is going through basic right now at Sill. Soft. Good thing he was raised right. Like applying for a job now through a temp service. Weak.
ft sill miss the people not the place graduated sep23 about to finish a.i.t on dec 2nd to begin my journey on protecting this country n i wouldnt have it any other way ,hoah!
Man the really revamped that reception area. I went in 2012 and we were using porta johns that were cleaned probably once a weak. Like there was so much piss in there it was flooding up the urinal and was like inches away from your ass if you for what ever reason were brave enough to take a shit in there.
ahh, wish i had OCPs issued to me during basic. but my cycle was the last cycle to use ACUs at my basic. fort leonardwood (sept-nov 2015). had to buy my own when i was at AIT.
i hated 30th ag at benning with a passion. Also why is it that every army video has some nice lady talking in the background it's just reception but once you go on to training it's no walk in the park at all.
I went to that purgatory too. It seems this alot nicer than 30th lol I remember Drill Sergeants screaming at us and the Reception staff being rude as hell. Pissed me off being chewed out by some fat civilian worker because I didn't come up to their desk fast enough.
"everything is measured out to fit perfectly" hahahahahahahahahahahaha .................
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Funniest thing I'll read today😂
😂😢
That’s what stuck out to me, too. 😂😂😂just like many others we were rushed
😂😂😂 always fits
0:39 holy fuck that dude had snow on his fucking head
Rowan Macomber You mean dandruff
halofandude123Studio bet the recruits made fun of him for that
That buildup on his scalp tho. That's why you never go with a fro.
And they don’t even sanitize the razor they just move on to the next passing dandruff to everyone. Yuck.
@@crazyforcoffee5950the fro isn’t the problem, he just clearly hardly washed his fucking hair.
I used to live at Fort Sill as a military kid and now I'm getting sent there for Basic. Ain't life funny?
ahhh yes fort sill, the fucking hell pit
Not going to lie for a second, Reception was by far one of the worst parts of the whole basic training experience.
Average Minnesotan why? It doesn't look that bad..
Bored outta your mind.
because that is where you learn how much "hurry up and wait" there is in the Army.
CIF was pretty shit too
for real youre just sitting around asking yourself "why did i do this"
What they don’t let you know is that all this includes 2+ hour waits for everything
So it’s like meps x10
Great advices: 1.) avoid creating unwanted attention. 2.) observe everything around. 3.) be a team player. 4.) Don't quit / Never give up.
They are weak now. That was pathetic. Show the real without cameras and the real alphas will show and take it as a challenge. God forbid some love for country happens.
I did basic and AIT there in 1992. It looks so much different now. We had old wooden buildings then during reception. And there was a lot more screaming.
The worst part of reception is that there's no real limit on how long they can keep you there, and it doesn't count toward anything.
“It is a proud privilege to be a soldier - a good soldier [with]discipline, self-respect, pride in his unit and his country, a high sense of duty and obligation to comrades and to his superiors, and a self-confidence born of demonstrated ability.”

This is fucking fort sill I'm having flash backs of learning how to sleep standing up and with my eyes open
That Reception is a hell of alot nicer than 30th AG at Benning.
Ikr fuckin fort chill
I was at Bennington in late ‘92 and what a S hole it was. I think I still have clay in my crack to this day.
1:44 Holy shit, how do you end up on crutches in Reception?!?
Owen Martinelli Probably a hold-over
Owen Martinelli I saw some shit like that. 3 things. Hold over, clearly someone be extra stupid or someone who's already quit
I was thinking the exact same thing LOL
Some people have gotten hurt getting off a bus or even pt on the first day there. Ive seen it. I did Basic and AIT in Fort Sill and was stationed there too.
Kevin's most likely right.I remember a girl in our platoon dislocating her hip
I got sick as fuck when I got of the shots during reception.
My Daughter Starts BCT beginning of January 2018, so very proud of her and wish her the best at Fort Sill !!
I don't remember the civilians being so friendly at reception at Ft Jackson 1985
All that damn dandruff
1:43 CAN YOU SPOT THE SICK CALL RANGER??? Haha. haven't even started yet.
In reception in crutches 😂🤦🏿♂️
Just about to ship out myself! Very excited! Can't wait!
AHHHH; Ft. Sill, brings back memories..... bad ones...

lol, I was looking like is that fort sill!!!! lol, I miss it there. I did basic and ait there.
Less than 30 miles from me.
Seems things have changed since I went through basic in 1997. This place is laid back!!
All reception centers are laid back until the Drill Sgts arrive.
Goddamn that new reception area is nice, Hell of a lot better now then when I was there in 08.
This is in Fort Sill, Oklahoma where I went Basic Training and graduated from Charle 1/31 FA. Oh the good times👌🏽✊️
Jeez the memories.. Welcome to the Army.
Lol at 30th AG we didn’t get our dress uniform till after blue phase.
Wow what an upgrade to reception battalion. I was there in 98, nothing like this!
Daaaaaaaamn.... 95th has come a long way and built up much nicer facilities than when I went through there a few decades ago.
That looks 10 million times nicer than 30th AG Reception at Benning lol
Fuckin right. They look like they actually got sleep. Lmfao
It’s not that great. I went to Sill. We got next to zero sleep as far as I remember.
they make it look fun lmao. wheres the part where you stand at parade rest at 4am for 20 hours waiting for breakfast
In the freezing cold in summer pts
Yuhhhhhh
Bro it’s so crazy how that building has looked the same for so damn long
In Marine bootcamp.. this doesn’t happen until towards to end. You have to earn it.
The worst part of basic...
AMEN!
Agreed
How come?
nicetoeveryonedontpushit It's alot of standing around and it's very mentally exhausting to a new soldier..
However, once you get to your unit your used to the hurry up and wait mindset

DS Mac at the end telling everyone to stop talking haha
They had us stay up for close to 38 hours tops and made us stand in formation in a hallway from 0230am till breakfast
Infantry leads the way...
I went to basic at Ft Sill 30 years ago and my son is going through basic right now at Sill. Soft. Good thing he was raised right. Like applying for a job now through a temp service. Weak.
I'm going to Oklahoma for basic in about 10 weeks
ft sill miss the people not the place graduated sep23 about to finish a.i.t on dec 2nd to begin my journey on protecting this country n i wouldnt have it any other way ,hoah!
I was a dumbass and joined the national guard, so now I have to go to 30th ag twice. Once was bad enough
This must be the new kinder gentler army!!
Man the really revamped that reception area. I went in 2012 and we were using porta johns that were cleaned probably once a weak. Like there was so much piss in there it was flooding up the urinal and was like inches away from your ass if you for what ever reason were brave enough to take a shit in there.

Wow they are so nice now.
Fort Sill 1998.
Fort Sill... This place haven't changed a bit lol
ahh, wish i had OCPs issued to me during basic. but my cycle was the last cycle to use ACUs at my basic. fort leonardwood (sept-nov 2015). had to buy my own when i was at AIT.

Holy Crap! I just had him as my SDS he is currently SDS of 4th platoon a-1/79 I love that man.
1:44 you see what I'm seeing? He walked in the reception and he walked out with a pair of crutches x-D

Ahh 11 years ago today I arrived at ft knox
i hated 30th ag at benning with a passion. Also why is it that every army video has some nice lady talking in the background it's just reception but once you go on to training it's no walk in the park at all.
I’m doing this right now, I freaking hate itttttttt
Parris island makes this look like day care
Adella Raver Paris island is soft they don’t Evan smoke you anymore all yelling!
Reception was the worst part of my whole basic training experience, ft Benning 30th AG
I went to that purgatory too. It seems this alot nicer than 30th lol I remember Drill Sergeants screaming at us and the Reception staff being rude as hell. Pissed me off being chewed out by some fat civilian worker because I didn't come up to their desk fast enough.
Wow. The facilities there are much nicer than Fort Jackson.
Well this will be a breeze
dude brings basketball shoes lmaoo
Fort Sill fits you for ASU's at reception? It was way different on Leonardwood, we didn't do it till Blue phase
ever see a new private go to sick call the day they get to reception?
It's as if they're already soldiers. Even though they haven't even completed basic training.
30th ag will forever be the biggest hell in history
I cringe thinking about that shit hole
I went to Fort Dix New Jersey in 1989
Ft. Jackson: B Co. 1/61 3rd platoon (Honor Company)
AIT: B 3/69 3rd Platoon (Honor Platoon)
Jan 97-May 97
This place looks like heaven compared to the 120th reception BN....
Lmfao I was in reception at Fort Benning for 36 days. This is some shit🎈
They take pictures BEFORE they even pass basic training?
Daniel Ibarra it’s for your military ID jarhead.

Do they conduct a urine test the first few days at reception or a general medial overview
Did Ft Sill Basic 1990 👍🏻🇺🇸
This looks like heaven compared to 30th ag lmao

Its crazy to think most of these peoples contract expired and this video is 4 years old..
Ahh good old windy bi polar weather fort sill:)
Wait, so what day is this? Is this the first or second day that you arrive? Do they take your picture on the first day you arrive at boot camp?
