Tebogo's 100m final last year for me was one of the most entertaining finals of all time on any level. The way he celebrated almost hyped me up as much as Bolt's 9.69. I'd say Tebogo's 9.91 was the junior equivalent of what Bolt did in 08.
Do I think he'll break the record? I don't think so, but for so long we've had a "New Usain Bolt" or "The next Usain Bolt", I feel that he and Knighton are the only 2 youngsters deserving of that "title".

While today's stars may achieve faster times as they grow older, one of the reasons for Usain's massive improvement from the juniors into the senior ranks was that he needed time to fill out his 195cm tall frame. You can see how scrawny he was as a 19yo in the flashbacks from this clip. Certainly, you don't need to be tall to run fast, and it's often a hindrance, but in Usain's case he used his long strides to great advantage.

Tonogo had the ability to run 9.89+ or faster thab 31.5 but he was showing off instead of running through the tape. Erriyon and Lyles run their hardest. Bolt regretted slowing down later in his career because he only broke 19.2 once and 9.6 once. Especially after his false start in 2008 he took every race much more seriously. Powell was the same way, and wished his records would've stayed a little longer. Tobogo doesn't know if he'll ever hold a RW so try to break them now while you still can and he'll need to run faster than anybody else has.

Let’s make this clear the body can go but so fast unless you have special built muscle, bolt was built differently. Now there will be many guys who look promising . Lyes, knight , tobolda . When they get to 9.6s and did not tear muscles then I start looking. None of these guys run 9.6s as yet. That is the standards before you start looking. And not just a one off 9.6s that as to be their new standards. So people stop the excitement and enjoy the kid run. He is no where close to Usain Bolt record . No one is there as of yet.

200m 9.19 will be so hard to beat!
Jamaica's eight-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt is number one, having set a blistering time of 19.19 seconds at the Berlin World Championships!

Funny, I felt the same about Michael Johnson’s searing 19.32 set in 1996, when he obliterated the previous world record by close to a half second. Then along came Usain. It’s impossible to know these things. Who could foresee Beamon’s record that stood around 50 years till it was broken?

Super talent. But if he was taunting the other racer and slowed down at the end of another race, this arrogance will hurt him. Usain was fun, powerful, yet respectful and humble within the sports world context.

well dont undermine that he is already faster than him at the same age, the only con i see for the statement he is in the same league is that letsile mechanic is almost perfect and because of that difficult to improve while bolt was doinghis thing partying, with very lousy training after three beers and running like a kid without any form or technique

@@londonrich7 obviusly i exaggerate, but is true that bolt didnt have a great running mechanic as a youth, its also very well know that his main problem at that age is that he wasnt taking training to serious and i remember back in those days there were concerns regarding how much more he liked to party than to train he also admitt that. All this tell you he have lot of room for improvement altough he already was the fastest in earth at his age. Many people only see time and technique, but the athletes with great times and bad forms are the one who have a lot of potential. The ones with perfect mechanics, perfect three steps start, perfect finishing and perfect rythm are running at there own top level and maybe they have great times but not much more else to go.
