Analyzing the 10 m split times is fascinating. Thanks. It appears that Lyles hits top speed after 40 meters because he ran from 40-70 and 70-100 each in 2.51 seconds. Also fascinating to watch Lyles against Christian Coleman, since Coleman considered fastest starter ever. Christian’s drive phase technique is unique in its choppiness. Not sure Lyles or anyone can match it, but could be worth consideration. In the women’s 200 it seemed Gabi Thomas closed much faster than anyone, and split times confirmed. It wasn’t acceleration at end, it was less deceleration, which makes sense in terms of lactic acid buildup. Makes me wonder if men experience similar deceleration; very likely.

From what I'm reading, Sydney was so much under wraps in her recent performance that I believe Femke has no idea what she will be facing. Really hope Kishane can maximize this immense potential we're seeing from him and rewrite the history books regarding runners who have run 9.7s in previous Olympic years. Bolt ran 9.7 twice in 2008 before Beijing, one of which was a new world record of 9.72s, and 9.76 in Kingston before going on to marvel the world with another world record in the Olympic 100m finals. Hoping Kishane will emulate the greatest to ever do it.
