- Tim Buzbee (Principal Tuba Iceland Symphony) performing a solo piece I composed for him called Six Pack. The piece is published by Warwick Music in the UK and is available at their website: warwickmusic.com/composers/m+-...

I still LOVE this piece and Mr. Buzbee's playing. FANTASTIC!
Sick low register!
It is the opening of a beer, you are actually supposed to drink a beer between each movement.
I love the brash brassy low range. THat is a beautiful tuba! and so well played. WHat a joy to hear!
I'm a college clarinet major and I found this vid as part of an assignment for brass class. I'm thrilled hear technical stuff that would be challenging for even flutes and clarinets (we usually get the most difficult technical stuff) done on a tuba. This is awesome!
who the fuck disliked it? Darth Vader himself?
Tim, you are a freak! Ladies and gentlemen, this guy could play with any group in the world. However, the video with him playing this on an old B&S Symphonie is even better! The sound he gets on that instrument is just insane....and he actually drinks beer in-between movements!
INCREDIBLE
AWESOME!
Awesomeness!
amazing! very nice!!!!!!!
Straordinario bravissimo complimenti ciao.
Хорошо играешь!
Fantastic! I agree with the other comments - beautiful sound - including in the low register. I really enjoyed listening to this :-)
I also ordered this piece. Just waiting for it to get in!
nice. wonderful range and tone quality. Such control. That performance would be hard for anyone to beat. Way to go!
His tone is heavenly oh my god.
wow awesome playing, iterasting piece:D
ITS GREAT...I LIKE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy crap, nice tuba playing man, the first movement was amazing, it sounded like you were shreeding on a guitar!
Tougher than it sounds...had the pleasure of performing this several years ago. Takes some work. What a fun chart though :)
i saw this performed live WOW
These movements cover a pretty wide range. That and the multiphonics makes it sound like a pretty tough piece. Buzbee's a beast of a player though
I would love to play this for Tubaween! But I will actually crack a beer on stage and the music school staff would freak.. Good thing I've already got my degree! I love the sound he gets on this horn.
Amigo muy bien lo felicito, tiene un buen registro en los graves y se que es dificil en estas tubas en fa hacerlo, felicidades y sigue asi, saludos
I like the first two movements, I like more technical than lyrical stuff, I wish i had an F tuba, or any tuba of my own for that matter, I plan to buy a CC one day...

when i was a music major (i switched after couple years. still love music though) i considered doing this for my sr. recital.
I actually bought this, it's not too bad until the third movement, there are some huge jumps (some over an octave) that are difficult on my BBb Miraphone.
This guys from TEXAS! :D
I almost forgot, the 6th movement has some insane high notes (4-6 lines above bass clef), but besides those 2 things, it's not so bad.
¿Donde puedo conseguir esta partitura completa?
@qbkyle he usually gives a whole story line
It is a f tuba. He is playing the BBb 4&5. Look closely.
That was pretty cool, definitely a different sounding piece, but played extremely well. What was up with the little stuff he did in between movements though? That was a little weird.
@qbkyle supposed to be "drinking a six pack of beer"
i am 16 about to start working on it. I go to a performing arts school they call it the "fame" school. Any good advice for working on like the 2nd movement and the tonging ?
cazasaurusrex /// Is your friend play as great as Tim??
impossible dude!!
Great stuff!
Such a response is unpossible on BBb, but works well on F!
how well could these mvm's be played on a BBb tuba?
would this piece sound good on a contrabass tuba?
williebeaty it is almost impossible to play this on a BBb instrument, just listen to the 6th mvmt!
what kind of horn is that
your supposed to drink beer between each movement!
This would be awesome on a CC. Regardless Buzbee is a fuckin MAN
wat model tuba?
Aren't you supposed to drink a can of beer in between movements? :p
I may be doing this for my senior recital :D
what is this song actually called
can i get a composer also?
plz
will be greatly appreciate!
arshad
For Christ sake... can someone PLEASE get me some free sheet music for the second movement? PLEASE?!?!? Much appreciation!
or, you could support the artists and composers that make the music and just buy the part. It's like 12 bucks.
That is a Meinl Weston 2182
thats not a CC at all....that be an F tuba..or even an Eb. its way too small to be a 1291
very good player
on the other side:
is this music? so much kreative energy, somehow waisted in this project
If only Buzbee was funny. Nice piece James.
I liked mvt. 3 a lot, the others were just eh.....
I think it's a C tuba because he is playing the B flat in the beginning 1st valve.
KlayJen it’s a tuba in F. Melton.
Bb is first valve on F tuba except below the staff. Melton F tuba. Some variant of the 45slp.
