Enduro Vs Trail Suspension Fork | What's The Difference?

  • The line between trail riding and enduro riding is becoming increasingly blurred; despite this, different component options are available to suit different styles of riding. One such component, your fork, handles damping duties at the front of the bike. In this video Trail Blake, Enduro Blake, and the Trail Angel are using suspension pioneers RockShox's new Pike and Lyrik Signature Series trail and enduro forks in the loamy heaven of the Surrey Hills; challenging them to climbs, descents, and big hits.
    In association with SRAM.

    Each fork is available in three different models; the Ultimate and Select+ feature the all new Charger 2.1 damper (the Ultimate also gets the RCT3 compression adjustment). The Select model has RC2 high and low speed compression adjustment. All models of the forks feature SKF wiper seals and Maxima Plush damping fluid to keep them running smoothly. Both wheel sizes are covered and there is a choice of two offsets to suit modern geometries. The Pike is available in 10mm increments from 120mm to 160mm of travel; whilst the Lyrik covers longer travel duties, 150mm to 180mm, again in 10mm increments.

      O.o? Did you really not notice? All 3 dudes in this video are exactly same dude! ROFL. It's called trick video editing and blue screening.
      See when the two blakes are standing side-by-side. He really has done 1 video of the first bike, Then later switched clothes and bike later in time, and record in same exactly scene area but inches away. Then with video editing, He can 'clone' both videos together to make it seem like Video 1 and video 2 are in 1 video and responding to eachother. But really aren't.

    • @evanbarnes9984

      I'm riding a 1996 Litespeed OBED F/S. It's a really early Horst link full sus design, with a titanium front triangle and aluminum rear triangle. The rear suspension triangle was built by AMP Research, and is the same as the old AMP B2. The frame is the only original hardware, I've replaced every other component, including the shock. Still 80mm travel front and back though. The modern fork is already longer than the old one in terms of crown to axle, so I was worried that adding any more travel would change the geometry too much. I love riding this old beast, and I've taken it down some steep, tech trails with drops up to like 2 or 3 feet. It's also set up for bikepacking. You can have a lot of fun on old bikes. That said, I demoed some new ones recently, and the technology has come a long way in 20 years. I feel like I don't want to push my old warhorse any harder, so I think it is time for a new bike that I can really get rowdy on. I'm feeling really drawn to the new kinds of hardcore hardtails, like the ragley blue pig. Something with a 140ish fork, long-low-slack geometry, and probably 27.5+/29er options. I can tell that the geometry out my current bike was really just a minor change from road bike geometry. It's from the truly early days of MTB design.
      How about you Kelvin, what's your steed?

      We all know it’s a “relative”term. Kinda like when an NBA has its “short” lineup out on a court, and the players range from 6-3 to 6-7; short, ha!
      More substantive here is the difference between enduro and trail bikes for different conditions and what causes the differences.

    It’s a great take on the ride differences that you can feel on bigger vs smaller travel bikes. I did a ride on a Nomad version 3 and it needed to be at Mach 3 hitting big stuff before it felt like it was coming alive. If you don’t have that terrain on your door step it can feel like the bike does it all as you are a passenger.

    This is not a good compare. You had to compare a lyrik vs revelation. A 150mm.pike is almost an enduro fork, or it was until they recovered the lyrik. Both are 35 mm stanchions. You have to compare a 32mm 120-140 fork with the lyrik. But I love they way you do you videos Blake.😃

    • @FedericoTesta1
      @FedericoTesta1 Před 5 lety

      @jordidiego2149 Před 5 lety

      Federico Testa i jumped from a 130mm revelation to a 140 mm pike tuned to 150mm and MRP ramp up dial, and the difference is as you said noghr and day. If you compare it with a factory 170 lyrik the difference is huge.
