great video, darn though. I have a 3.5cm f3.5 Leitz Elmar where the aperture ring is so hard to move. But I'm not sure where to go in from.

Thanks for such detailed videos! Your channel is a real treasure!
I have several questions. Is #10 helicoid grease suitable for any lenses? How do you decide what number to use (maybe thread length or angle, thread material)? Is it OK to use this grease for helicoid sliders or key and keyway units? I had bad exprience with soviet Jupiter-9 lens and silicon-based grease SI-180. The slider (a bolt with cilyndrical head) just stuck in a keyway.

    Hello Kenneth
You are making excellent videos which I really appreciate! Thank you!
I have an Elmar 5/2.8 LTM with focusing problem. When set to the true distance to an object, let´s say 3 meters the the pic will be out of focus,
I tested with an Leica M9 and an adapter ring and the same 3 meter object will be sharp when the lens is set to 7 meters!
Then I saw when you unscrewed the helicoil and I got the idea that the helicoil in my lens have been started on the wrong thread when taken apart sometimes in the past.
I have a question: Can this be the problem and how to I find the right starting thread??
Thank you in advance for any tips to rectify my focusing problem. /Peter

How would you calibrate this lens if it is back focusing? Thank you, Nathan

I guess you need to calibrate the so called "set screw" at 15:00. The screw will determine where the lens stops at infinity. So adjust that little screw and verify infinity is sharp with a ground glass (or a digital camera).

Hello, how can I remove the front lens of a Distagon f4 40mm c Hasselblad?
    Thanks.

You should use a lens rubber tool to unscrew the front name plate, and then unscrew the front lens group.

This is a plain Elmar, not Elmar M. They are around 35 years apart
