It’s not that difficult, especially if you keep your elbow close to your body. Actors with theater experience usually have to do this.

At the start of this I said “oh god Ego is Rameeswamy. No. Looks like she hates it too” I can’t stop laughing at the high level of Meta used here. It’s just like Trump to sit home, watch SNL knowing he’s gonna be on it, and tear the whole sketch apart. It’s like an extra layer for those who understand sketch and improv. Thanks for that SNL

Eh. The Trump impressions are getting old. He's rapist, a fraud, and a racist, but 7 years of skits about him are getting old. A chunk of our country is cultishly obsessed with him, but I think the rest of us are sick of hearing about him. If he does something newsworthy it'd be one thing, but there really isn't any new content here.

The fact that James managed to break the fourth wall and make meta-references while staying in character and maintaining the plot is a testament to just how entertaining these segments are. I await an SNL segment of Trump's conviction.

The writers on this one nailed every joke: destroy boy, just walk away, a woman's name, just hit after hit. Keenan put a bit of mustard on lester HOLT and it delights me.
Shane Gillis' Trump is 1,000 times better than what's his face you mentioned. SNL blows.
James catches Trump just right...eccentric but not hysterical. In impressionist must respect the full range of the person, and Alec Baldwin was 0% respect and 100% PROJECTION (a rage-filled fanatic). I never thought Kate McKinnon's appearance or mannerisms echoed Hillary, but she captured her PERSONALITY and essence more on-target than a Target Checkout Lady, so she nailed it. PS I'm very conservative and if the actors demonize Hillary or Trump, it's just not funny.

Naming the cast members playing the parts was an exceptional idea by the writers.

The impression of Tim Scott just NAILS it. The constant uptalking with the fry in the background, at the weird volume -- I am so thankful that someone felt the same amount of agony while listening to his delivery and channeled it into this perfect impression.

That would be them seriously debating founders’ constitutionalism and would not make for a good SNL episode.

Been watching SNL for 30ish years, and this is one of the best cold openings that I’ve seen.

We’ve seen so many Trump impersonations throughout the years, but this is genuinely the best. In retrospect, Alec Baldwin’s was really not that good. It was funny at the time, but this guy literally sounds like Trump. The intonation, the changes in pitch and rhythm, quite frankly, marvelous.
James Austin only has the voice. Other than that he's boring. Alec Baldwin was the whole package. Mannerisms, facial expressions.. everything..
Props to them for not cracking a smile. That was a great impression. Too funny!
Heidi pulled off a better Haley impression than I would have ever expected. Almost had her voice perfect despite how different Nikki's is from her own.
