Bowen was great in one of the best cold opens I've seen in a while, one I'll watch a few times. Terrific script writing and Bowen pulls it off so well. He needs more skits like this where he can really shine as the main character

'Scandal in the Wind' is Bowen Yang's magnum opus, that was truly exceptional. Love the little touch that he was faking playing the piano. It's almost a shame Santos got expelled, he was Yang's best character.
This is some of SNL's best work in a while
He'll probably run for re-election while being incarcerated in prison just like James Traficant did in 2002 when he was convicted in court and then expelled from the House.

They HAVE. It was reported multiple times that the republicans knew that Santos was a liar but never said anything and that they laughed at him actually being elected.

The only reason I'll miss George Santos is people like Bowen brilliantly satirizing him.

The fact that they did this in such a short amount of time is a testiment to the talent of the team that pulled this off. Definitely one of the best openers. Congratulations!
To be fair, they've probably been writing it for the last 6 months, just tweaking it each week as the writer runs into Lorne's office to eagerly say "Now?" 😁

Holy crap, this whole skit nailed it in a way that history will remember. One of the best SNL openers of all time. Bowen Yang's performance catapults him into SNL best players league. If Santos sees this, maybe he'll think the whole thing was worth it.

Bowen Yang is fast becoming one of the top tier cast members on SNL. George Santos was a gift from the comedy gods and Yang sure made the best of it. There was a big void after the departures of Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, Pete Davidson and Cecily Strong. Yang is taking the mantle.
The other new cast members are getting stronger n more confident

We need to see Bowen Yang’s George Santos character at least occasionally, popping up in random skits, ideally doing things like being a drag queen, steeling money, not knowing how to play volleyball, etc. Not necessarily as the point of the skit, but as an Easter egg. We need this.

This was totally amazing. What talent. Somehow, SNL always seems to be getting the best talent around - If one leaves , they get someone else just as talented!
That's how the show keeps going for all these years, even during the shaky years when a lot of people don't believe SNL will pull out of it (i.e. 1980 to 1985).
I've watched this twenty times already and I'll watch it another twenty more. I bray like a donkey laughing at "evil Forrest Gump" every time I hear it.
