    RESTORING REAR SUSPENSION SHOCKS
    MODIFYING AIR BOX TO FIT NEW AIR FILTERS
    I'm finally getting down to the nitty gritty with restoring this bike. First, I had to repaint the exhaust as the clearcoat never really dried properly. Then, I had to swap the original springs onto my new rear shocks so that the bike actually has back suspension. Next, I had to modify the stock airbox so that I could put a new uni air filter in it because the ones that are made to fit it are impossible to find! The reason I had to install the stock airbox is because it also has a battery box on the bottom which I had to install the battery into. Finally, I tried tuning the carburetor some more and took it on a test ride. It's almost done! I hope you guys enjoyed the video and maybe learned some cool tricks that I showed in the video.

    I enjoyed the series about the Elsinore very much. The bike looks really great and now, because you never give up, it runs good as well. Thanks for sharing.

    Excellent video. Using vintage honda parts mixed with modern upgrades to make the bike run and handle better are always the most satisfying mods. And yes, the gas gap definitely needs a gasket.

      It's gonna handle shit with those springs, the rebound damping is extremely high for the new weaker springs

    I am doing a full nuts and bolts rebuild on a 1976 MT250 that I will then race in vintage hare scrambles.
    I went with Betor shocks. Great quality and a very renowned brand.

    I purchased a genuine T-shirt like the one you are wearing at the June 22 1977 LA Forum Led Zeppelin concert. I know, who cares, totally off the subject, but just had to say.👍🏼 Your music taste cannot be critiqued.

    Also, use Evaporust. Water based, non-smelling, and works great. It’s what I use when I have to get the rust out of gas tanks.

    The air filter was missing the internal cage when you bought it. I can easily find the right uni filter for this bike but it needs the cage to work.

      Just from my experience... changing either the intake or exhaust on a carbureted bike ends up being a massive headache down the road.

    • @martinkupka3575
      @martinkupka3575 Před rokem +1

      @@lilTryhard I´ve seen similar comments multiple times. From my experience new exhausts and air filters and re jetting the carburettors in most cases are no big thing. Of course it means some work sometimes and it is a reasonable question, if the result is worth the effort. So I agree to your statement, if you talk about people who are riders but do not really like working on their bikes. For me it was just fun to do it.

    • @lilTryhard
      @lilTryhard Před rokem +1

      @@martinkupka3575 This being a single cylinder it is probably no big deal. My experience was changing the stock air box to pod filters on an inline 4 with CV carbs, and a custom exhaust. I would never recommend anyone do what I did lol

    Hooker Header pipe for the TS185. That carb doesn't sound healthy. I had a 1971 and it absolutely ripped with the Hooker on it. It had no problem hitting 75. A healthy 185 will break up at top RPM
