- What is the most traditional or common breakfast that Poles have? Is there is such thing as a Polish breakfast? I decided to find out at a place called Pawelek Coffee Shop & Ice Cream located in London, Mitcham.

iv never heard of polish breakfast honestly. we usually eat a variousity of different things
Andreeeee Im from Poland and I love ya how you appreciate our nation !! From the point of view of Polish history, we need people like ya ! Especially when for years we was feeling like "worse" people in relation to western countries. Lov ya, i wish you so much hapiness in your life !

We don't have "Polish breakfast" standarized, for me it would be sandwitch with multiple toppings or eggs or bread in the egg (recommended to bring back some freshines to stale bread) but those ones are from juvenile years, now it is more like eggs (scrambled or not), sausage (often made day before on some barbecue or fire pit and just reheated with eggs) and cucumber, radish or tomato, oh and ofc beer if I can drink that particular day.
it looks like a combination of various ideas for a Polish breakfast :)

Polish breakfast is those 2 things:
1) kanapki + herbata / kawa
2) jajecznica
3) kawa + faja

Najpopularniejszymi daniami na śniadanie są kanapki, obłożone np. żółtym serem, wędlinami i plasterkami pomidora lub ogórka. Je się również jajka przyrządzane na różne sposoby (gotowane na miękko, na twardo, jajecznica, itp.), biały ser z rzodkiewką i szczypiorkiem lub z miodem albo dżemem, podawane ze świeżym pieczywem.

Pyszne omlety z dżemem na śniadanie. Facet włazi na śniadanie i zastrzega się, źe nie je chleba !
Zapomniałeś o parówkach, sałatce ziemniaczanej albo resztkach pizzy z wieczoru 😅

We are not typical polish coffee shop with only polish products we are having variously food to make sure all our lovely customers have different choices. Our breakfast is not "polish breakfast" it is mostly continental breakfast, and it is the best breakfast served around the area. Staff is working hard to make sure all our customers are happy and satisfied. As well we will be more than happy to serve you alcohol if you come in the hours covered by an alkohol licence, which is from 11am and alcohol can be consumed only inside the permission. Dla mnie na śniadanie to na ciepło jajecznica z kiełbasa i szczypiorkiem, kiełbasa na gorąco lub kaszanka smażona z cebulą, naleśniki zawijane z serem białym i podsmazane (mogą być wczorajsze) 😁mogą też byc zwyczajne kanapki ze wszystkim takie smieciuchy jak za kominy na party się robiło czyli chleb, masło, wędlina, liść sałaty, żółty ser, pomidor, ogórek świeży lib kiszony ew. korniszon np do kanapki z pasztetem posmarowane majonezem a na to pokrojony korniszony😁
Andrzej, musisz spróbować także kiełbasy wiejskiej (swojskiej), takiej mocno wędzonej. Wrzuca się ja na 2-3 minuty do wrzącej wody. Z musztardą, tartym chrzanem i dżemem żurawinowym smakuje wyśmienicie. Zresztą kiełbasa wiejska smakuje wybornie także na zimno, najlepsza jest jak jest dobrze uwędzona i wysuszona, z duża ilością czosnku

I bought the cheapest parówki from biedronka like 10 years ago and they became slimy and odorous in just 4 days. I wouldn't even feed them to Putin, that's how bad they are.

This is not a Polish breakfast. We love sausages, but we don't eat it very often for breakfast. Fried tomatoes are not our delicacy either, we rather prefer the classic sliced ones with nicely chopped onions. I would believe this composition more if instead of sausage, there was black pudding.
I thought fried tomato was an Irish thing for breakfast. That's what I got for breakfast there. Fried mushrooms,tomatoes,bacon, sausages, bread, marmalade toast, beans , fried eggs and tea. It was very good but must have been 2000 calories.
I'd say, the polish breakfast is like scrambled eggs with bacon, frankfurters/thin sausages, some white white/cottage cheese with some veggies like tomatoes or cucumber. At home it's mostly eggs or kiełbasa :)

We dont have time to make a breakfast like this. I think most popular are boiled parówki with Ketchup or sandwiches with ham , cheese , tomatoes and cucumbers xD

A Polish breakfast is soft-boiled yak in various variants, scrambled eggs, freshly baked bread and butter, sauces and vegetables. I like sweet pancakes for breakfast. There are many variants. I like a warm baguette with white cheese topped with honey.😁

@@mieteksnopowiazaka5359 Jeśli mam być szczery to ja jak już jem coś podobnego to przeważnie na obiad a na śniadanie to jakąś kanapkę z szynką i warzywami, z pasztetem czy tosty albo sałatka. itd :)

Ja, w sobotę, jak mam więcej czasu kupuję sobie dobrą podwawelską albo co wten deseń, nacinam wrzucam na patelnie i na małym ogniu smażę aż się wytopi tłuszcz a kiełbaska nabierze brązowego koloru. A sałata, pomidorki, cebulka to już wariactwa na ten tema na talerzu można robić.

Powiedzmy, że jajecznica i kanapki to jest typowo polskie śniadanie, ale kiełbasy nigdy bym nie zjadł rano. Za parówkami też nie przepadam, ale one chyba są bardziej powszechne na śniadanie

Honestly anything that people call breakfast in poland remind me of german, british breakfast. It might contain variety of bread, vegetables, meats, sausages, eggs, bacon, cheeses. If you are more on heatlhy side it might be some 100% oats, milk or yoghurt with sweet fruit sauces or just fruits. I don't think there is something purely polish in polish breakfast.
Tak pobieżnie...na pewno polski twarożek (twaróg) i ze śmietanką nie taki słodki typu włoskiego, żytni chleb, twarożek ziarnisty w śmietance - tego nigdzie nie widziałam oprócz Polski, cienkie naleśniki nadziewane z serkiem na słodko, z serkiem i galaretką i owocami,z dżemem, naleśniki wytrawnie z serem żółtym z pieczarkami z grzybami- czyli krokiety, placuszki z jabłkiem i innymi owocami, kluski tzw. leniewe😁 (jak ktoś ma w lodówce gotowe i je obiad od razu ze śniadaniem) pieczarki panierowane, drugie śniadanie z obiadem to "kopytka" z sosem pieczarkowym a na podwieczorek faworki (oczywiście smażone na oleju). Pycha! Nie ma chyba tu nic angielskiego i niemieckiego ... I owszem można jeszcze coś dodać, zupę mleczną polską: kasza manna na mleku z wanilią, owsianka na mleku, ryż na mleku, płatki ryżowe, lane kluseczki na mleku i nawet kasza gryczana na mleku w starym stylu- to dla dzieci i dla tych co to lubią. I jeszcze wiele innych bo ja to bardzo uprościłam...
For Polish breakfast you can have anything that comes from Polish producers. It must be big to give you power for the whole day.

Dziwne, że nam Andrzej nie tyje po tak ciągłym objadaniu się najlepszymi przysmakami. Mnie po po kilku dniach takich posiłków jak pokazywał na ostatnich nagraniach wskoczyłoby z 8kg.

Podstawa to nie objadać się wieczorem i na noc, a jak zje obfite śniadanie lub obiad to raczej nie będzie miał problemu z nadwagą.

Yeah in my home it's always some open sandwiches with cottage cheese or any other some meats tomato cucumber etc etc often scrambled eggs or hot dog sausages with ketchup this sort of stuff but i would say open sarnies are most popular x
Andre, have you tried PASZTETOWA PODWĘDZANA or WĄTROBIANKA? I know you love polish bread spreads so I think you should try this. It's very meaty and smoked. I like to eat it on bread with something sour like mustard or sour pickles. For me it is a taste of my chlidhood at my grandmas'
I'm from Poland, and this is not a typical polish breakfast. It's a various of that. We eat, a lot of eggs, toast bread, cheese, mushrooms, and u can eat that with many sauces, and adds like mustard etc. Cucumbers, tomatoes are typical there. And sorry for mine english, but I wish, u understood. Thank You :)

Hej Andre, mam prawie 60 lat i pierwsze słyszę żeby avokado jeść na śniadanie :)Kiedyś była zupa mleczna ( ryz na mleku, płatki owsiane, zacierki) potem herbata albo kakao i do tego chleb z masłem ( jasny albo razowy) na jasny- wędlina( kiełbasa) , żółty ser, pomidor, na razowy -twarożek ze szczypiorkiem, dżem , miód, a za czasów komuny chleb z masłem i cukrem,a jeszcze kajzerka z pasztetową i pomidorem, pozdrawiam :) This is not polish breakfast :)
Czasy sie zmieniaja i probuje sie robic wszystko bardziej "international". Czy to dobrze? Ani lepiej, ani gorzej, tylko inaczej. Awakodo stalo sie modnym doatkiem od kilku lat. Osobiscie lubie awokado, ale np w kanapce, czy na toscie polaczeniu z jakiem czy jakims serowym smarowidlem i to jeszcze zalezy od stopnia swiezosci owocu.
To dość popularne w polskich nowoczesnych knajpach. Awokado z polski nie pochodzi, ale staje się dość popularne. Nie widziałem za granicą tego typu śniadań, w Polsce są dość często spotykane. Kuchnia ewoluuje. Kiedyś w Polsce nie znano ziemniaków, a kto teraz sobie wyobraża polską kuchnie bez nich? Z awokado może być podobnie 🙂
I would call it continental breakfast. For frying tomatoes in Poland you could be sentenced for 2 years. 😂😂😂All the best.

That is not Polish breakfast. If you look at the scrambled eggs with bacon, you can see that it's more of an English breakfast than a Polish one. in Poland, when we make scrambled eggs with bacon, the bacon is usually cut into cubes and fried in a pan with onion where eggs are added and everything is mixed together. Generally, in Poland we eat a lot of sandwiches with ham, yellow cheese, tomato, cucumber, onion and egg (often with mayonnaise on eggs), white cheese mixed with radish and onion, etc. Generally, a lot depends on the season we have. Spring will include, for example, radishes and lettuce. we also like milk breakfasts such as cereals, oatmeal, etc. or sweet sandwiches with jam, white cheese and honey, etc. In Poland we don't really have a specific idea of what we eat for breakfast.
90% of the time it's sandwiches. I especially like to make open faced sandiwches and I make em "full wypas" with two types of spreads, usually butter + some herbal/garlic cheese spread, some greens like rucola or spinach, ham or slices of kiełbasa, raspberry tomatoes sprinkled with salt&pepper, cheese, blue cheese (e.g. gorgonzola) and thin onion slices on top, then broil these bad boys for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts, onions brown a little and the bread becomes cripsy on the sides. Sometimes they're accompanied by "frankfurtertki" or "parówkowa" kiełbasa's. Other times I only toast the bread, rub it with peeled garlic, spread with butter and serve alongside scrambled eggs with onions, kiełbasa and minced tomatoes, or scrabled eggs with onion and bacon and sometimes mushrooms too. There are a couple of other options I enjoy from time to time, but they're too time consuming in the morning. They are "racuchy" which are apple pancakes, or "naleśniki" which is the polish equivalent of crepes, served both sweet and savory.

They just gave u a mix of different typical breakfasts in Poland. The only thing is that differ from other countries is that sausage because its authentic polish smoked sausage that's often just pan fried with onion and served with a mustard.

I’m in Arizona, if we could convert half of the Mexican restaurants into European ones, life here would be better. Mjetka cibulowa na chlebie z masłem to dobre polskie sniadanie. Latem twarog ze śmietaną i rzodkiewka do tego chlebek z masłem i kakao. Też nieźle śniadanko. Właściwie to Polacy mają kilkadziesiąt różnych sniadań

Andrzeju nie ma czegoś takiego jak polskie śniadanie. W Polsce na śniadanie jemy to co jest w lodówce. Najczęściej chleb z szynką , serem, pomidorem, jajecznicę, sadzone lub gotowane. Wyjątkiem są świąteczne śniadania.

you have to try polish white sausage! its great simmerd in hot water served with horseradish. biala kielbasa in polish! you often have this sausage in Zurek the white fermented soup in poland! i has the taste of garlic and margaram spice! and sorry that is not a polish real breakfest!
