Cardinals become the first team in MLB history to hit 4 straight homeruns in the 1st inning with 2 outs, on a Saturday night in July, while wearing alternate uniforms, facing a right handed pitcher.
Except there weren't 0 outs.
@@ry.the.stunner according to the score overlay...there were 0 outs
@@PugsNotDrugs4 No, the black dots mean an out. There are two there.
@@ry.the.stunner You are correct. I've never watched a baseball game with that overlay so to me it looked like the classic 2 dots that get coloured in after an out.
@@PugsNotDrugs4 5 consecutive hits with two outs (Goldschmidt single, then Arenado/Gorman/Yepez/Carlson HR)
Speaking of pressure the fifth guy must have felt.."Anything less than a homerun is a failure".
When he got back to the dugout they all said Loser.
There's always someone who let's the team down. Phillies went through the order a time and a half in the first inning a couple weeks ago and Hoskins had two outs. A K and a groundout.
@@ezdoesit8895 Nolan Gorman also had that happen to him I believe against the Red Sox a few series ago
That be funny if they just continued home running forever.
@@911ragdoll they say the game is still going on to this day 🤣
that 4th home run knocked the audio back by a few seconds
Now sitting here in 2024, the pitcher is on the Cardinals now.
Well, there goes the perfect game.
😂😂😂
Cardinals become first team in MLB history to hit 4 straight home runs in first inning.
Apparently 4 consecutive homeruns has only been done 11 times in MLB history. That's rare. It's also the only time in Cardinals history they have done it. Amazing. Despite that, they just eked out the win.

@@ORagnar wins a win.
Wow what a meaningless obscure stat
@@faceripper77 Not really.
Though Im a Philly sports fan I have to re-watch it for the 10th time :)
The cardinals hitting can be really good at moments
The future is bright
@@uhtredsonifuhtred5664 Not necessarily for pitching. Most of our guys are in their late 30s-40s
@@davesteibstan38 yes, I agree.. pitching is needed desperately, because our bats can handle
Batters are excellent, it’s the fact that yaider’s 40 some years old, been with the team 19 some years. I remember watching these guys during the All Stars game in like 2009 when they played the Astros at Busch stadium, I ran the bases and I have a bat signed by the players. Incredible experience.
@@grunkster How did they play the Astros at the All Star game?
With two out, amazing run of HR's.
11th time in over 100 plus years...HISTORY
Now that's how you start a game. Was fun to watch. Great video
Im a diehard cards fan. But after watching that 4th homer, i felt so bad for the pitcher lol.
And now, he's a Cardinal lol
I witnessed it from while sitting behind their dugout, I was so happy to be a Cardinals fan that day
0:24 - "He's now a triple a double and a single away from the cycle."
LOL. I think of things like this while I'm watching baseball.
Also me if the pitcher gets through two innings without giving up a hit: "He only needs 7 more no-hit innings for a no-hitter!"
The oddest thing is when one needs a single for the cycle…and then a fielder boots a ball badly and instead of a single, it’s an error.
I think they were making a joke because Arenado hit for the cycle the game before this one
Absolutely blown away when I saw this! Let's go Redbirds!
gibson executed 3/4 of these pitches. just extremely unlucky on his part
2/4
Nah. It looks like the days of “keep the ball low” are over. The best way to get people out is throw 98+ up in the zone. They are just dropping the bat head down and catching up to these low balls much much easier.
@@gman9035 the cutter wasn’t bad at all. just great piece of hitting
@@Paralysisbyanlysis the game is changing that’s for sure

So, the Cards became the first team in the history of MLB to hit four consecutive 1st inning dingers... and needed everyone of them to hang on to a 7-6 victory. Hats off to the Phillies for hangin' in & battling back.
this ain't it, fam
Our pitching was pretty bad. Embarrassing even. If I remember correctly it was either Cabrera or Gallegos
Just another reason why I love Baseball. STL is a dangerous team overall.
Not against the Cubs nor in the postseason. When they beat good teams, I'll believe. Not that Cubs are good, they just beat the Cardinals too often.
The Cards went to pound town on that poor pitcher.
Except their pitching staff, which is below average.
@@Thomas-pv3gd you’re crazy lmao. Cubs are 13 games behind the cards lmao
@@Thomas-pv3gd plus we have the 2nd most World Series.. how is that if we’re not good in post season?.. lmao
And they still blew the lead. Glad they were able to stick with it and secure the win
Nolan Arenado is one of my favorite players ever..
We have not seen the best of this guy yet. He is a true ball player. He's starting to heat up right now though.
I'm so glad we have guys like Nolan Paul Albert Yadi and adam. I'm telling you man we are world series bound we're going out on top.
It's the end of an era and I accept that but we're going out on top!!
We just swept the Yankees and took two of their very good players. Lol.
Look what the Cardinals did at the trade deadline. You've never seen a team make a move like that.
We gave away Harrison Bader.
And we got two starters who already have a win with five plus innings of shutout baseball.
Who does that??
Oh and Harrison Bader is injured for the rest of the year.
This is the first time first time in MLB History to baseball players with the name Nolan have hit back-to-back home runs. And all that plus in the 1st inning. Maybe first time 2 MLB players with the same first name hit back-to-back home runs in the 1st inning ever.
Well, it's the first time two players named Nolan have ever been on the same big league team at the same time, so...
1:51 A grown man fighting with a kid to get a baseball.
They did the same to be over a yadi foul ball, he shoved me to the ground and got it….
Imagine going to get popcorn and then coming back to see this…
Fantastic!
We need that kind of work in the World Series
Who?
@@ezrobot7 well I don't know, it's been 2 months let me see, yeah I must have been talking about the St Louis Cardinals. .
@@grunt9131 oh well funny enough the team that gave up back-to-back-to-back-to-back home runs made the World Series. So you weren’t too far off
I remember watching this game on my phone on the golf course, I saw we got 2 quick outs so I ran in the clubhouse to buy beer, and by the time I got back in my cart Carlson was crossing the plate after the 4th HR. I was as hyped and pissed off as you could be at the same time.
Incredible
2 Outs 4Hrs damn!!
Arenado Gorman Yepez and Carlson sounds like a law firm, and Gibson got litigated at the plate! 😂
i will always remember this
That's was unbelievable with 4 players hit back to back to back to back home run in 1st inning
Thanks for your insightful editorial, Cpt. Obvious. I think that was the WHOLE POINT...
@@wisecracker1814 excellent that was epic moment
Love the retro blue unis
may got bless yall
That's so amazing!!! GO cards!!!!
Congrats to these guys for making history … would have been amazing to do it at home . Imagine being a kid wanting to be a ball player and doing something like this. Good for them…. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Sounded like they WERE home...
@@wisecracker1814 they were in Philly
I seen the Angel's do this in the early 80's against the Tigers.... Not sure what order but it was Reggie, Downing, Decinces & Bobby Grich.... The 1st MLB game I went to in Anaheim
Gawd I love those jerseys
I wonder what the odds of this actually are. Probably in the millions
It’s only the 11th time this has happened. The last time this happened was in 2020 funny enough against the Cardinals.
I'm wondering if he was tipping his pitches. That being said, I miss Dan McLaughlin, and I hope he's getting the help he needs to get better.
Last time ⏲️ I went through St. Louis it was like Detroit junior!!
Now he pitches for us
Damn
Usually don't care about highlights unless it's my beloved Braves But. . DAYAM!!!!!
Did you hear that pause after Brad tells Danny that he thought Carlson would be the one to hit the home run on the lowball here today. He said let's keep it going because I think Carlson's going to be the one to hit the home run.
That pause was at least 3 seconds they were looking at each other like oh my God. Lol.
"Let's wear these blue unis...all the time!"
All Star Game 🌟
Looked like only the last pitch was grooved.
Ricky Hortons KMOX call for these 4 knocks was amazing!!
Let’s go Redbirds!!!
No word to describe this feeling😌
thanks STL🫡
Almost as amazing as Gibson’s former team turning the first ever 8-5 triple play this season.
Wow
I was at the game
Let's go!!
Good video
⚾️All Star Game~Gibson batting ball pitcher~🤗👍
That Pitcher has the best 400 ft slider in baseball.
goddamn yepez's barely went over! i love homers like that. that barely squeak over!
my boys! NOW SEAL 1st place ;)
🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
And then they give up a 5 run lead 🤦♂️🤦♂️ this team needs some serious pitching
You're correct. And what's crazy is... that was Kyle Gibson who gave up those 4 homeruns. Kyle Gibson is one of the 3 pitchers we picked up this year. He just gave up 6 runs in the 1st inning against the Marlins yesterday. UGH !
The 4th batter couldn't of asked for a better pitch just grooved it to him
Gee, thanks coach. My self confidence was getting out of hand.
Word has it that Gibson retired after the game
Wish we did this to them in the post season though
yanks fan but damn those baby blues are sweet
Wow I just seen this video 4 days later
Wish the cubs had a batting lineup like this
Cards vs Phillies: Batting practice.
imagine being the one guy who went to the bathroom and missed all four of them.
There's no way the pitcher wasn't tipping. No way. All four were actually decent pitches. Well, 3 out of 4, at least.
St Louis let's gooo, let's gooo 🟥🟥🟥⚾️
JD Drew was involved with the Dodgers hitting 4 in a row and then did it again with the Red Sox.
I wouldn’t want to be the next person that didn’t get a home run
My poor Phillies. Gibson must feel depleted after his last couple starts
lets go
Like Tatis' 2 GS's in the same inning unfortunately this didn't happen in St. Louis either.
Even though the end result is functionally the same(barring the first 2run shot), as a pitcher giving up 4 consecutive homeruns has gotta feel so much worse than giving up one grand slam lol.
someone should tell the pitcher this ISNT the home run derby!
Lol Gibson pitches for st louis now
Those Cardinals bats are smoking!!!
Its like hitting a grand slam the hard way
damn dude slenderman himself with the quatro
Fun to watch historic inning for the Cardinals
The only thing that would make things like this better would be if it was a home game
First time in 15 years, when my Red Sox did it against the Yankees
very rare to get 4 home runs in a row!! can any team be the first to get 5 straight home runs in a row?!
So tempting to blame the balls... Juiced balls for sure.
*Great feat, but 3 of those home run pitches were absolute batting practice meatballs. The 3rd home run was 100% on the hitter. He reached out and down for that one and still pulled it into the seats.*
Man, it's almost like a large amount of home runs are pitching mistakes? Ground breaking stuff Mr. Brown.
@@civilwarwasaninsidejob7405 *Did you watch the video? Those pitches were extraordinary bad. Don't be obtuse.*
@@superbrownbrown why do you bold your comments? And I am not being obtuse. You are shitting on a video with an incredible feat that has only occurred 11 times in history.
@@civilwarwasaninsidejob7405 *I believe that the first two words in my original comment were "great feat". Let me check.*
@@civilwarwasaninsidejob7405 *Yep. Those were my first two words. Oh maybe I typed their homophones (grate feet) by mistake. I'll check again.*
Damn all in 1st!
Pitcher must have been tipping his pitches.
That's gotta be an awfully lonely feeling giving up four straight
That Yepez homer makes me think MLB has tightened those balls back up. Off balance, off his front leg...
Possibly more of note back to back homers by players named Nolan.
I thought this could only happen in MLB The Show...
How u not get that pitcher off the mound after the 2nd homer smh 🤣🤣
Man that has to be so embarrassing for the pitcher #44 ...
Aw man, I wanted to see the next guy! How did he do?
DANGIT I LIVE IN PHILLY AND WAS BORED AND CONTEMPLATED GETTING THE CHEAPEST TICKET ON STUBHUB 12 BUCKS but I backed out and used my money to order papa John's pizza
I know the pitchers was feeling horrible giving up 4 back to back home runs 😂
