  • We're into the final stretch. The title is all but guaranteed, but we don't want to rest on our laurels. How many records can we break en route to back-to-back league titles?

    nice one. After all, there is only so much one can do at a club without it becoming more of the same. And resigning at the top, is the ultimate power move

    • @mustermannfm

      It's a shame. If Savvidis was just willing to give a payrise to a manager who had won back-to-back championships, I'd still be there. But Zaragoza should be an exciting challenge!

      @@twisted_cpp the ceiling was always going to be limited at PAOK, but I thought we could definitely build for a deeper run. Still pretty happy to have made the knockout rounds, though!

    • @twisted_cpp
      @twisted_cpp Před měsícem +1

      @@mustermannfm yeah, the ceiling is the knockout rounds, maybe a UEL semi and a UECL final if you happen to play there a season or two.
      But you've made it to the UCL which PAOK has never managed to do, so that is something important at least.
      It would be interesting if you can show us in future videos how PAOK is managing in the next seasons. Sometimes former teams do badly, sometimes the player's success helps establish the team to keep winning and doing great.

      @@twisted_cpp I do plan to keep track of it.
      I've already baulked at their transfer activity under Barry-Murphy. We broke their transfer record when we signed Byron Castillo for €5.25m. In total, I spent a lot by GSL standards: €17.25m.
      Barry-Murphy has spent €65m!! The transfer window isn't even closed yet.

      Zaragoza were going to be the team for the "Vibes" playstyle, so I have a little bit of research on them already, which is super handy. It's also a litmus test for the series, because this is usually the point where I start to feel regret and wished I'd stayed at PAOK all along!!

      Personally I’m of the opinion that you may have regretted it more if you backed down and stayed at PAOK without the pay rise - it doesn’t suit the narrative and you’ve already turned them into the dominant force in Greece!

    What was your data base and starting managerial stats (exp and badge)?

    • @mustermannfm
      @mustermannfm  Před 25 dny

      Real World. Former International (as loosely based on Angelos Charisteas who played under Schaaf at Bremen), and Continental C licence (the lowest I believe would be required to get a job at that level).

    • @Charlie5Marine
      @Charlie5Marine Před 24 dny +1

      @@mustermannfm thank you for that. I was interested in how other top jobs weren’t easy to come by even with your experience and credentials within the game. I want to try to be realistic when creating a manager with a backstory (I am flirting with CHATGPT since I’m not very creative) but, I don’t want the game to be too easy at the same time.

    • @mustermannfm
      @mustermannfm  Před 24 dny +1

      @@Charlie5Marine I think a large part of the job struggle was down to the game having a very binary approach to the job search, so if I had started at a lower league team and taken them up first, they'd have been more inclined to hire me.
      So in that regards, I don't think badges would have made too sizeable a difference. The game recommends badges for the level you want, so I reckon you can't go too wrong with starting there, and maybe for a bit of a challenge dropping it down a bit. (That also helped with my decision on Continental C. I think for Greek Super League it recommended Continental A, so dropping it a couple seemed reasonable)
