  • This 2008 Subaru Outback XT is not your average family wagon. It's EJ255 engine has upgraded forged pistons, forged rods, closed deck heads and a Blouch Dominator 1.5XT-R Ball Bearing Turbocharger. It has the drivetrain from a Impreza STI and a custom suspension setup that borrows parts from the Legacy GT. It has a flex-fuel setup that enables it to run full E85.
It was an awesome experience to drive this car on racing slick tires up my favorite mountain roads. I was not expecting to have so much fun!
Many thanks to the owner for letting me review his car!

“Have you ever seen a tuned outback before …have you ever seen a built outback before?”
Yep, I drive one every weekend.

I bought a 1998 outback legacy and it’s fun but I want to turbo it for fun

Nice setup definitely a sleeper. That turbo makes it much faster than a bolt on turbo STI with Flex Fuel. That turbo completely transforms everything.

      It’s a heavy car though..

It is significantly faster at higher speeds

The Speed Addiction I have Dom 1.5xtr 10cm 3” inlet on the STI in my picture. It’s on a built motor with bc 272 cams, GSC valve train, and of course on flex fuel. It’s the ultimate daily driver in my opinion. I drive it in the snow and all. Keep up the great content!

@@Dave-so7sf yeah, with the STI gearbox, trailer hitch, and a full tank of gas it was around 3800. So, figure 4050 with me in it...

Did you Upgrade your Fuel Pump Wiring to get these Numbers? I'm having a Fueling Issue at Top RPM. Think it's the Fuel Pump Voltage causing it🤷‍♂️

This generation outback/legacy has a rear suspension design that is unique to these models. Sti hubs cannot be mounted. Nobody has figured out an affordablr work around yet. There is a thread on legacygt.com discussing it

@@dub537h5 yes you can. I did the EXACT swap for my 05 XT. That 6 speed is soooooo much better than the 5! It also has a taller 6th gear. You'll lower your cruising speed RPM's by around 1k.
