    Just had this cam put in also. It makes the bike sound like a Harley should. I used to short shift with stock now it's so much fun just to stay in the throttle. You hit 4500 rpms and it's like a turbo kicks in.

    Just put this s&s cam kit into my 114 fat bob and it’s turned into a complete rocket ship. Just using the power vision tune from fuel moto until I can get the dyno tune in a couple of weeks and really dial it in but I hear your comment about taking it easy. It’s far to easy to smash speed limits. My mpg seems to really have been impacted but will know better after the dyno tune!

    • @MeathedMoto
      @MeathedMoto  Před 3 lety

      Mine hasn't been too bad. When I'm just cruising I get 39-40 mpg. But if I'm a little less conservative I get 36. A dyno should help figure out where maybe you're too rich in your mixture causing you to lose mpg. Fuelmoto knows there stuff but to dial it in for your elevation, pressure, average humidity etc will make a big difference

    Funny. I have the 2020 114 RGS. We must have similar taste...I also did the 12-inch Vintikta bars, full 475c kit from S&S. Did the 13-inch windshield (perhaps yours is the 9-inch? Even though Im only 5'9", I sit pretty tall because I have short legs. Added legend shocks front and back, Scorpion seat with extra gel from BadBoys, Kromewerks slip-ons, HD Screamin' Eagle Ventilator Extreme Air Cleaner. I ride it as my daily rider since I share a car with my son and he takes it to work each day. I live in tune with the weather. If it is too cold, rainy or snowy I just look for stuff to do around the house and do my errands the next day. I'm also semi-retired so it is likely easier for me than a younger guy who needs to be at work at the same time every day. Have taken it several states away and back to visit family....works flawlessly. I do, however, need to get it to a good Dynatuner guy at some point as the mileage is a bit low and the o2 sensor triggers the check engine light...even after I reset it a couple times. I'm sure it goes off as it is simply running too rich and sometimes smells a bit like gas in the garage. Cheers!

    • @MeathedMoto
      @MeathedMoto  Před 2 lety

      So the 475 cam is really there 100 horsepower cam. So no matter what kind of exhaust you're running you'll probably achieve a hundred horsepower. For reference my two into two pipes actually got me 106 horsepower but if I had a two into one pipe I'd probably be closer to that 110 horsepower. I would recommend either of the S&S 475 cam or the redshift 468 cam. I know that Woods also makes good cams as well but I do not have any experience with them. I do recommend buying a cam plate and oil pump so that way your engine won't be starved of oil and it will run cooler as well. My bike was tuned on a Dyno with a dynojet power vision so that is what I would recommend or a thunder Max tuner. Hope this helps.

    • @MeathedMoto
      @MeathedMoto  Před 2 lety +1

      keep in mind with that kind of goal in mind you'll probably have to go big bore (128 or 131). you'll also have to consider upgrading your valve train components, clutch basket, springs and plates, as well as the compensator. Personally try a cam upgrade with the pump and plate and get a baseline. You will be surprised at the difference just a cam and good tune will do to your 114 even though it's not 143 HP. 114s make bout 90hp at the rear or so just to 115-120hp with just a cam is a 33% gain.

    • @MeathedMoto
      @MeathedMoto  Před 2 lety +1

      Your Harley 131 is probably rideable. I'm talking about the insane 124 and up builds that's make ridiculous power everywhere in the RPMs. I've talked with a few guys that have big bore motor builds and because the M8 can make a lot of power when you put all the right pieces on it, you basically can make it like a light switch where it on/off. The slightest twitch of the throttle and it's ready to buck. To me that can make a bike unrideable in a way. Your 131 if it's running the cam and tune that comes with the kit isn't that.

    What tuner do you have ?

    • @MeathedMoto
      @MeathedMoto  Před 2 lety

      It was tuned with a Powervision on the Dyno. I don't have the Powervision itself as the guy I go to just buys a new license then gets it tuned up on the dyno

      I enjoyed the swap to a 2 into 1. Makes better power and a better sound to me
