    Hello , Gail here from Boston usa . I love this sewing project so much ! I want to wallpaper my living room with strips and strips of all the lace , fabric , flowers beads , mesh and ribbons!’ I am brand new to actually working slow stitching! I bought some frilly laces few years ago but didn’t follow through with picking fabric and such . But I am now ! I have been collecting sewing stuff for a few years while I was making junk journals. Knowing I like to make slow stitch cover toppers , Gayle channel is where o first saw slow stitching . She all around crafter and has a channel. I am ready I thought to start my own piece. I have the Muslim and everything ready to go . Of all things I never ever thought to buy embroidery thread !!! Imagine that ! All around my living room and craft room are bins overflowing with lace and trims , boxes of fabric open around my apartment seeing what I collected. No embroidery thread !! Omg . Anyway o learned a lot in this video. One thing is there is someone else in the world who loves shabby chic frilly bits as UK sewers say , second is to cut apart laces . That is so much better . I purchased a few laces that o am not too fond of . I already took a piece and cut away parts i didnt like . Now it adorable. I never thought to use jewelry charms . I have diy jewelry making supplies hoarded too ! I seen you using satin ribbon in floral center , amazing ifea could you share the way you make rosettes ? Agostonelli is the youtube channel Gayle Agostenelli . Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful creative mind and time to show folks to learn . One more thing . Over the years sewing mending or something with needle and thread. For fabric too thick or short needle it would get stuck and i didn’t know how to get it through . I gave up project it hurt my hand trying to push needle through and hurt my hand . Great idea using pliers . In fact I am going to put a pair with sewing

      Hi Gail :) so happy to read your comment this morning :) I know Gayle’s channel too :) I had to lear and play with embroideries when I discovered junk journals, I am a bit like you, I had all those things in my stash (but I bought way more since! ahah! If you go to my channel, there is a section for playlists and I have a specific playlist for embroideries … you start with the oldest video and will learn the basic embroidery stitches one by one while doing an easy and cute thing to use in your junk journals. I show you how to do the ribbon rose there :)

    I love how you put lace edges on labels printed on fabric. Great idea that makes it look so professional!!! I love hand sewing. Looks much better than stitched by machine. I usually bead my lace myself. But if its already beaded, I put 2 little Art Glitter Glue strips to cut between. And on back where beads are, so they stay attached. Sometimes I put a few stitches into beads to make sure they hold. Love how you add embroidery, ribbon flowers, beads, etc. This is best snippet I've seen!!! SUPER NICE JOB! TFS. Love this video. So Beautiful. I can see that as the front of a waist band on a long beautiful white skirt or as tie backs on sheer white drapes. My question is where did you find such beautiful laces. I never throw away any tiny bits of lace but I don’t have any that looks as gorgeous as the ones you use in this video. I truly enjoyed the process especially the ribbon roses. Ann from Va. ❤

    • @odulcina
      @odulcina  Před 7 měsíci

      I agree with you for the lace, hard to find because it is vintage and a specific style. I buy it from Crafty Me Shop! (look for this Facebook group name). Esme, the owner, only sell through her Facebook group on Friday and Saturdays, she post pictures of laces with the price and those who wants some put a comment under the picture. She calculates on Sundays and sends a Paypal invoice. if you are international (not from the US), you can ask her to keep your order to combine it with other orders and save on shipping because sometimes, we only want 1 lace or 2 and we don’t want to pay full shipping as a package for so little!
      The laces that you see and love are called CMS (means Crafty Me Shop) because they are her exclusivity as she bought the whole inventory of a lace manufacture that closed in 1980. when she says in the description of the lace that it is a CMS lace … it is what you are looking for! the other laces she sells are more new laces. :)
      hope that helps :)

    This couldn't be lovelier really! I think I have watched Part 1 four times now and Part 2 seven or eight times. I could never ever cut something like this up. I have one question for you. When you say you could use it for a decoration, how would use yourself use it? I mean other than on a book because I do not journal. How else would you use this absolutely beautiful item in your home?

    • @odulcina
      @odulcina  Před 11 měsíci

      Glad you enjoyed it! :) My ideas to use it as a decoration would be to roll it on an antique wood bobin and display it on a shelve or top of a furniture as a display, specially in a sewing area, shabby chic bedroom.

    • @lyndaillustrator3801
      @lyndaillustrator3801 Před 11 měsíci

      Do you have any sources for bobbins that you use? I have tried secondhand stores with no luck and Amazon also without any luck. Sorry to bother you again on this. I am just looking at your 'Decorate the pages of the journal (Part 2)" - Love your little trick of including the flower at the end of the strings. Great idea!

    The grade 90 cheesecloth that you use from Amazon appears to be very white. I have some of that (unbleached) and it is more of a tan color. Can you please clarify if the grade 90 cheesecloth is white and please send a link for what you use? I love watching your videos! So inspiring. I went an got some thread this morning to start some "new projects"! Thanks so much!

    • @odulcina
      @odulcina  Před rokem

      This is the one I bought on Amazon : amzn.to/3JZkvZU
      It might look white but it is more a off-white. When you receive it, you put it in water and let it dry in a ball shape so it takes some folds. All the cheese cloth together makes it look more white somehow than one layer at a time but if you want it more tan, I would suggest then, that you damp it into tea water (not coffee!) and then, let dry. :)
