Because I am a seamstress, I have lots of threads and cuts of fabric. I have done this technique but using water soluble stabilizing for the backing. That way when you sew everything together, it looks like a new piece of fabric.

You have so many awesome ideas. I absolutely adore your channel and your gifts. Your tutorials are so easy to follow. I really want to learn how to use my singer machine so I can sew. To learn a machine, I need live help and hands on instruction. Tried several times to do paper but had no luck. I don’t get the basics of how to work the machine, and the manual just overwhelms me. 🤦🏻♀️ Anyhow- thank you for your awesome video! I stayed up night before last until three in the morning making several of your bookmark ideas. ❤️ God bless.

Love love love. No matter how hard I try, I can't get my projects as pretty as yours. They always turn out a bit grungy. Maybe that's just my style. Anyway beautiful work as usual!!!!
Making the snippet rolls is very addictive, and serious fun. I just made some of the mini snippets and oh my gosh, I love them. They are really pretty in person. The thing I have to guard against is feeling like they are too precious, but they are so easy to make I know when I use one up I can just make another. Very excellent tutorial.

This is a good idea. I will look for pieces of my daughters' dresses and upcycle some, then use the scraps to make a snippet roll to tie around my journal. Thanks for sharing such a pretty idea.

Well done Gi! It was inspirational to all viewers. I need to give it a try as I have endless pieces having been a seamstress. I’m surprised your sewing machine needle didn’t “gum” up with the glue. Glue was a great idea to stabilize the pieces. TFS!

Hi there, This looks like fun. I do have a Q though. If you use little bits of glue stick to hold the pieces in place, do you have to then wait an hour or two, to make certain glue is dry, before you sew the pieces on? If still tacky, wouldn't it wreck your machine?

Have you ever tried to make a snippet roll of fabric with just glue and maybe some hand stitching? i have a sewing machine-just got it but i have not learned how to use it and since my mom is sick now it will take at least 6 months before she can teach me and i really want to make a snippet roll and use in journals. Very pretty, having done this, what use would you put them to? I suppose it lends itself more to scrapbook exercises than attaching it to something that will need to be kept clean, like upholstery or clothing.

Just laughing I have not got enough lace to have any rubbish bits yet, to make one, bu it can see how it can get where you have all little offcuts that are too good to throw away x

I don't add very much glue stick and I was using and old sewing machine. I have a new one now so I will be a little careful and make sure the glue is dry properly before I start sewing . Hugs Gi x
