- Here's a walkaround of my grandparents' 1980 Ford Fairmont. This particular car is a base model which is equipped with the 3.3L "Thriftpower Six" inline-6 engine (which produces a blistering 91hp and 160 lb-ft of torque) and a 3-speed automatic transmission. I had the honors of prepping it for a parade and car show and I really wish I had done before and after videos because the results were staggering. Admittedly it isn't the cleanest in this video since it was filmed after the parade and everything and I do apologize for that. Ultimately this car is certainly a blast from the past and I've loved every second being around it and working with it.

How can it fascinate me so much? I love it.
Cool. I just came up on one too. some old people mist have owned it because its pretty immaculate, other than some fading paint on the trunk. Even blows cold A/C. Ill be looking to sell it soon.
I like the black steelies with no hubcaps. I'd proudly drive her!
this is crazy! My grandparents had one just like yours! the sun bleached it so it was a brighter red. That's awesome!
Back in the early 90s my grandma had one. Love to find me one
Amazing car
That brings back memories. My first car was a cherry red '81 Fairmont. The steering wheel hub pops off. good place3 to hide money lol.
Very nice! That would be a good spot lol. I never thought of that.
The o.g. Fox Body
I had exactly this one but in brown color
Awesome!
I liked the predecessor Maverick better but the Fairmont was a good car too.
This 200ci engine is unkillable. It’s very smooth also, and has plenty of torque.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
My friend just got one of these, any tips?
I actually just now got this one too. My grandparents recently gave it to me. It needs A LOT of work. I'm still trying to learn about them myself so unfortunately I don't have any tips just yet.
The horn button is on the turn signal stalk. Not one of FORD'S better ideas.
It’s definitely a weird placement for it. Thankfully I haven’t needed to use it yet, but I do wonder if I’ll remember it’s there if I ever do.
