    C'mom ! This is ONE person's opinion, perhaps unfortunately he bought a ' Lemon ' which happens in every brand.
    Our Kia's in Australia don't seem to have nowhere near the same amount of issues you guys have in the US.
    Ive owned my Stinger 2019 GT ( GT2) since new, had no major issues, minor issues like chrome strips oxidised and dynamic bending head light which was quickly fixed by my Kia Service Centre under warranty. It has done just over 112,000kms and our little Cerato hatch has done over 312,000 kms with no issues, both have proved more reliable than our previous Holdens and Fords.

    People talk about Hyundai and Kia warranties as being the best in the business. Anyone who knows Hyundai and Kia going back to the 1980s knows that the corporation is cheap AF when it comes to warranties. The Hyundai dealer in my area changed hands about a half dozen times because they couldn't manage to make money and keep technicians on staff - not when Hyundai only pays the dealer techs 2.5 hours labor to replace a head gasket on one of their $%^&boxes. The 100k mile warranty is only as good as the company that's standing behind it, which in Hyundai and Kia's case - isn't worth $%^&.

    Damn I was hesitant to purchase a Kia coming from my reliable Lexus. Thankfully my 2018 GT2 with AWD has endured so much even these harsh Canadian winters currently at 55k miles.
    I will say one thing, I avoid the KIA dealerships like the plague. We had a Kia VIP line we would call as stinger owners back then I don’t even know if that’s a thing anymore, but they were helpful.

    Hey, guys, just a little more clarity. The car has 42000 miles on it. Did not start having problems until that amount of miles. The rear diff keeps breaking somehow I do not know why.

    • @fragoutrambo6381
      @fragoutrambo6381 Před 8 měsíci +4

      Yea man, AWD is a costly system to run. The Stinger is on a steel chassis so its hella heavy, which is why the differential works hard. Differential service is super important in cars like these, it's just the way performance works unfortunately. KIA dealers suck ass too which is why they have such an awful reputation. I'm sorry you had to go through all that. I think the stinger is a great platform. But it's issues like this and the sorry-ass customer service KIA prides itself on that got it discontinued.

  • @joerichardson6107
    @joerichardson6107 Před měsícem +1

    You gotta do your research, on the rear diff you have to replace the diff fluid with some like Amsoil severe gear with friction modifier. It's not the diff but the fluid. Should've got the g70 way more luxurious, and handles better, stinger is kinda sloppy without upgraded sway bars and springs.
    My wife sold Honda's when they had a huge oil dilution problem, new cars coming back, people saying Honda was trash. When you have a bad experience you have to look at the big picture. Plenty of people putting miles on the Stinger and G70, getting 700 whp on stock engine...the hatch does creek though on the stinger, glad I went the g70 route (didn't need rear space). Already changed my diff fluid it is a known fix in the forums, sounds like you had a bad dealer, disabled launch control? Lol that is wild.

    I feel like you're lying, why have k&n stickers if you dont have any k&n mods? Im sitting pretty at 60k miles in 2 years.... with mods... did you do spark plugs first like everyone recommends? And i never heard of the diffs crapping out. Usually first thing to go that is major is the coil overs at 80k miles... did you keep up with your maintenance? Do you change your motor oil every 5k or less miles? Do you change the oil filter every 5k or less miles? Do you change your coolant every 15k or less miles? Do you change your brake fluid every 25k or less miles? Transmission fluid every 20k or less miles?... you need to maintain your car. And judging by how dirty the car is id say you dont

    • @manb4war
      @manb4war Před 7 dny

      He's definitely doing some lying. Bottom line, the dealership told him they wouldn't fix the car because he's been racing it. He contradicted his earlier comment when he said he doesn't race the car but he said, "what good is the car if you can't do a few pulls". Right there, he self-snitched😂 Then, he said his car takes $35 to fill up😂😂😂, what does that have to do with car quality? What it costs to fill up is based on tank size OR gas prices in your area. To fill up a 15 gal tank for $35, gas would need to be about 2.33 a gal for 90 oct. That's got nothing to do with the car. Sounds like dude went on CZcams and found every complaint about the Stinger, there aren't many. The creak and rattle complaint is a dead giveaway. Wireless Carplay or Android Auto wasn't available until 2022-2023.Honda retrofit for 2022 models, these are petty complaints. Ride is smooth on my Stinger, the only rattling I hear is from my garage door opener😂

    Kia and Hyundai service departments are trash, that I'll agree on, and I'm terribly sorry you had to deal with their incompetence just as I have, but the Stinger is far from being junk. It is a very decent performing liftback. And the issue you've had is well documented, a simple drain and refill of the differential fluid with friction modifiers takes care of the LSD issue. And this is an issue mostly with the RWD models, not the AWD version. I've seen Stingers GT's with nearly 190,000 miles on sale with only regular maintenance done to them. That speaks volumes on the actual long term reliability of these vehicles. The Honda is nowhere near the Stinger in any measure.

    I just got a 2024 Camry XSE V6. The Stinger is my favorite Kia model, but I could never bring myself to buy a Kia or Hyundai. IMO they both put too much effort into making the cars look stylish and not enough effort into actual design and manufacturing. It used to be that Kia and Hyundai were appealing because they were inexpensive, but that is no longer the case. I don't understand why anyone would buy a Kia or Hyundai when a Honda, Toyota, or Mazda costs the same amount of money.

      @@mac3176 I disagree about your take on the forums. On the Stinger forum there are tons of people who post about issues they have had and ask for assistance in how best to resolve them.
      Also, if someone owns a Stinger and has issues with it, I don't think they are going to be gushing over how great it is.
      Sure, Kia doesn't have the same track record as Honda (or Toyota). In regard to Ford, at least recently I wouldn't say their track record is too good, as their reliability is below average, and in some rankings trails behind Kia.
      I can only speak about myself, but for me personally, I feel I am rather objective about being a Stinger owner. My last car was a Lexus, so I have that to compare it to. I have had issues with my 2019 GT2, but most have been fit and finish (the other being the brake pad compound issue, which isn't a mechanical issue). So far Kia has addressed them all and have been willing to fix and replace what was necessary under warranty. Haven't had to pay any money out of pocket for repairs or fight for them to address something. The main problem (and this is with a lot of brands) is that dealerships are independent, and unfortunately can vary WILDLY in service quality.
      When I had a Lexus I used to take it to a dealership service department on the East Coast that happened to be in one of the most affluent areas in the county, and they were phenomenal (which is what I expected, due to it being a Lexus, and also because of the area the dealership was in). I moved to the West Coast, and then took it to a dealership service department that also happened to be in another one of the most affluent areas in the country, and the service department used to be pretty good -- and then a few years later it went to complete and utter shit (I believe the dealership may have gone under new management) -- I almost ended up having to sue them over a mess-up with a service recall replacement. And they started doing shoddy work, and one time they totally saw no issue in giving me back my car with the shoddy work on full display, in addition to dirty/greasy fingerprints ALL OVER the interior headliner.
      With my Stinger, I have had experience using three different dealer service departments -- one was decent, one was absolute shit, and the third is pretty good overall (and the only one I currently go to).
