Well said
I feel sorry for whoever gets in the way of Bel'akor in his book.
I feel sorry for Be'lakor, if he has to go up against Seraphon!!!
@@TheGraham27 prepare the rocks.
Lol. The prophet Meatloaf! Good one!
Think about the three mortarchs and nagash in this way and it's kinda funny how it lines up.
Nagash= Megatron
Arkhan= soundwave
Manfred= starscream
Neferata= shockwave
all death players know this however Megatron actually succeeds in combat more than optimus unlike Nagash.
damn GW writers making Death thew jobber again
@@MrSolidsnake293 this is true. Megatron was a fair bit more successful but I think Death is more ment to be the inevitable threat. They may not be the power House now but eventually everything ends and dies. Order chaos even destruction will have there ultimate end, and death will still be there.
@@crowejagerson3628 i just think this entire Lore dump from LRL is Lame for death.
no one realizes this but Death was the only faction successful against chaos and now Tecilis just handed Chaos Death on a silver platter......
nice job Tecilis and GW writers
My take on Death is after every "loss" they learn, adopt and conquer. Deathrattle, Soulblight - Flesh Eater Courts, Nighthaunt, Ossiarch Bonereapers etc I see each time as a type of evolution ok maybe FeC is a stretch lol
if that was the case the 9 books of Nagash wouldn't have been destroyed this is a complete loss for Death
Surprised you didn't mention the Broken Realms short about Mannfred getting intel for his mission, and revealing that he planned to throw that fight.
This is when Manfred finally betrays Nagash then it’s time to bring the... Soulblight Gravelords into play after Teclis punks Nagash😂
Maybe diversion tactics by Nagash, if all 3 Mortarchs failed? And maybe Arkhan knew a little bit more than the other 2? Great lore series, Doug!!!
Funny. Goddess of Life vs unnamed vampire lord on zombie dragon. Table top that vampire wins worth little effort.
Outside of Archeon most are pretty useless.
So the Teclis book is basically a big reset back to status quo, so we can go back to Chaos vs everyone else, and everyone else failing at fighting Chaos. Neat.
ya know Death was the only faction actually winning against Chaos.....
and now the Alves will just have to fend for themselves
@@MrSolidsnake293 realistically Nagashs idea might work turn everything dead to fight chaos no boundaries or in faction fighting but of course no one else would agree with that😂
@@juliantapia2978 Whats the point of winning if you sacrifice everything to win
This book did my boy Arkhan dirty. Basically feels like Death is jobbing to making LRL look strong.
I was surprised at Arkhan's final fate. I was hyped for the End Times rematch, and expected this outcome, just not quite so... explosive. That said, I doubt it'll stick.
don't worry if you read the white dwarf 461 you will understand the move of Arkhan
GW be like we choose these characters to survive the end of the world
now lets end them and make everyone mad
profit???
@@naitynn2734 why i gotta read a damn Magazine exerpt to know Lore WTF
Ah, Manfred. Everyone's favorite douche bag. I do hope they contrive to bring Vlad back again in the upcoming Soulblight book. Those two had such great story in End Times.
It's highly debatable of course but the Old World was ultimately destroyed because of a certain Manfred's petty bretayal ^^. It depends of which character you want to hold responsible really (my money is on Be'La Kor who bring into motion the whole thing, he is really the master mind behind most of the major event of Warhammer Battle).
I think vlad had a good demise sacrificing himself by giving the ring to Isabella in End Times. Now they need to make Isabella a main character. And I hope that so blight introduces the 1st faction that heavily fight each other because of how much they hate each other. No one likes Manfred von Carsten.
I love Mannfred. He’s my favourite character in fantasy and AoS and always will be. #mydude
Hmm, Mannfred versus Erebus in a douche-off.
No more old characters. If they're gonna add more characters make new AoS memorable characters.
I was really looking forward to Arkhan vs Eltharion. It's sad it was so bland.
I don't think Arkans role is finished. Genuinely believe that he's played them for a fool her. As powerful as Eltharion is, as great as the Lumenith are and as isolated as Arkan is, I think he has outplayed them. Possibly by using a clone? It's Arkan after all. It just can't have been that easy to do.
Eltharion finally got revenge on arkhan
I am immensely enjoying this series. Very well done.
Thanks for the video! Looking forward to the conclusion tomorrow!
Great job with the videos, I can't wait to hear tomorrow's!!!, thank you.
I have been waiting so long for Manfred to betray Nagash and it makes sense now that the new Soulblight Gravelords are coming out soon
I think a large part of what made Arkhan’s story not as interesting is because I a lot of his Hysh campaign has kinda been elaborated on in the past few White Dwarfs. His war was a lot longer than it was given in the book and since the lumineth were burning bodies he ordered his bone reapers to harvest the bones from nearby Flesh Eater courts, which in itself is a really interesting story. :)
Task failed successfully
The bit about a “short person in the wrong place in the wrong time disrupting storylines for millennia,” tickled me something fierce. Thank you for making my day:)
Good job!
Time operates differently in each realm. So there's a chance that while Neferata took a few weeks in Chamon to succeed and it's only been a few hours in Shyish.
Maybe the Arkhan story doesn't make a lot of sense because you have to read the February White Dwarf to get the missing parts?
The FEC stuff is probably the best bit of the Arkhan section which is unfortunately glossed over in the book itself!
I'm loving the pivotal role Allarielle gets to play in both of these books, but I'm still going to want her to make a true bid for her ends in her own book
Excellent!!!
Can’t wait for act 3 tomorrow!
Von Carstein: like father, like son.
Bodacious
I tough that arkham was kick of the edge of the realm and that was the reason he explode
The only thing better than a Three for us Nurgle worshipers is a seven or three sevens or even better sevens threes
This book is awsome, but it shows another big problem in AOS. Lack proper of powrr scaling. I mean, how powerful are diferent armies? Like how strong is united force of Stormcast or Lumineth? Or Legions of Nagash/Soulblight? Or Nighthount, or Osiarks?
Because we seę in this book, that 1 faction of Order beeing Lumineth, is able to absoluteely kick ass of basically united forces of grand alliance Death. Or at least sigmificant porcion of it. If lumineth with small help from a couple of KO ships and 1 city of Sigmar and some Sylvaneth, during the whole book, are able to kick the shit out of probably the majority of Death armies, than I start to have Lumineth more than Sigmarines xd
I think that the book is just preparing everyone for LRL winning 90% of their games on the table lol.
their rules are bull and the community knows it but wont outright admit it lol
We’ll just have to see how they end up on the table. And see what can hopefully work against them.
- I’m thinking sharks are going to be the best counter to the Kangaroos.
Do you reckon this is building up to some new sylvaneth army? Because they do need more kits
There is that warband in shadowspire that are those satyr looking things. I hope it releases Orion and his wild hunt (reimagined) for AoS.
Small point I would like to make: von carstein is spoken like Einstein or Rammstein. So not with an English "ee". But big fan of your work!
And "von" is pronounced "fon".
It’s always nagash getting owned.
I mean... except for the last two years when he wrecked the realms with the Necroquake and Shyish Nadir
I was thinking, and correct me if I get the lore wrong, but in the last video you said Teclis was angry Nagash had corrupted Shyish but wasn't it Teclis who bound Nagash to the Wind of Shyish back in the End Times? Maybe he feels guilty about that.
No, Nagash ripped the Wind of Shyish out of the Vortex before Teclis unbound it. Which coincidently doomed the Vortex regardless of what Teclis did.
@@adambielen8996 Ah okay, thanks. Nagash really is just the worst, isn't he?
@@fyraltari1889 Yeah, he pretty much is.
All praise the prophet meatloaf
This Campaign is all apart or Teclis’s fool-proof plan.
Teclis: This is my fool proof plan. [Attacks Shyish] Mission success. [Shyish attacks back] Mission failed.
Just another day in the Aelf Corps!
hmmm hello there
It's a shame the FeC never got a Mortarch could be very cool
They have the carrion king ... he’s just an insane hobo traveling the rails of the realms lol.
It would be so awesome to get a model / rules for him come FEC update.
They are the most interesting of the current death options, at least to me.
@@SlaveToChaos yeah I bought the latest update with the Abhorrent Archregent definitely a faction I feel don't get enough love. I wouldn't add much possibly fell bats & dire wolves because I think it would look sick lol....and the Carrion King
FeC also have a lot more freedom themselves. Afaik, none are really bound to Nagash's will the way the rest of the undead are. In a story around the soul wars stuff they even fought against lady olynder in defense of a stormvault
Ghoul Mortarch when?
Yes yes yes!!
Pretty sure the Carrion king would be their Mortarch equivalent. Too bad he’s an insane hobo MIA ... for now
@@SlaveToChaos yeah that is who I hope for lol heck even bat shit crazy and a hobo I'll take it lol
"The Null Myriad are just the coolest" - they were, at least. but do they even exist anymore? The impression I've been getting is that they joined Arkhan in oblivion after their defeat at the rim of Hysh.
Since theyre all bones and souls, they can be rebuilt by Arkhan
@@zacharywacker7629 The Null Myriad were special bones - those of the skeletons that built the black pyramid - and special souls - those of Arkhan's Black Disciples. It's the particular nature of those bones and souls that gave the Myriad their special properties. Even if Nagash can reconstruct Arkhan, and even if Katakros is willing to put another legion of Ossiarch under Arkhan's control after he failed so badly, they wouldn't really be the Null Myriad anymore. Or, at least, they shouldn't be.
@@Malisteen unless the lumineth destroyed the souls, nagash has them. And id imagine theres more black pyramid bones.
Logically, they should be gone. But GW isnt a fan of any changes that could affect gameplay negatively, so therell be a way they survive
spoilers! sort of, a bit

I would have preferred if at least one of the mortarchs had succeeded in their ritual. Every one failing (even if one failed on purpose) just kind of makes undead look bad and is sort of disheartening as an undead player. Yeah as presented these rituals were too cataclysmic for any of them to succeed without messing up the setting. But the writers could have just, you know, not written it that way to begin with. And Neferata in particular establishing a foothold in Chamon, maybe building a new golden city as a monument to her own greatness, with a gate back to the now up-for-grabs heartland of Shyish, would have been a great place for her to be going into the new Soulblight battletome.
Act 2 is usually the part were bad writer fail. Just rewrite the Warscroll of Alariell please! Thank you Doug, another great video
So, we know kataros is in the 8 points. And the og 3 is doing this.
What is lady o doing?
Helping Katakros with Eightpoints.
@@H240909 wasn't she banished by Belakor? I figured she went home after that
Grieving
@@kalebeckart1009 Yeah, but she’d probably be sent right back to help Katakros. That is where the bulk of Nighthaunts are at the moment.
@@H240909 I mean sure, as far as we know.
But we don't reeeeeeaaally know do we? We know that last we heard they were in the 8 points. But that could have been 100 years ago by now. Unless the timeline has been explicitly stated somewhere that I missed.
Fitting that this was on April 1, because GW always treats Death like a bad joke. You'd think deathless, beings like the Mortarchs, Who Are older than the realms themselves, wouldn't constantly be inept, fools. But we have to remember that GW only likes Chaos and Space Marines. No one else need apply to anything important.
exactly they knew Death had an incredible defense but this writing just feels insulting, Katakross troops dont react with feelings and Nagash wouldn't have gone himself if Arkhan blew up the way that he did. Nagash knows better especially since Arkhan is the strongest out of all the mortarch.....
You guys sound like actual babies. Death factions have been taking W’s since 2e started, this is the first time they’ve been taken down a peg. Calm tf down, dry those tears up and have a little faith in the company that continues to write/make up really incredible and unparalleled lore for it’s IP’s even tho 80% of their fan base just whine like little brats every time stuff doesn’t go exactly how they want it to
@@beastmendelegate1946 cry about it
@@beastmendelegate1946 also, stop playing/investing time, money and energy into something that you find so disappointing
I gotta say when I heard there were two elves twins I was hoping for niestra and arahan
.
Ha, Manfred.
I still don’t know why Negaash didn’t put him in a cage for éternité
I love watching Nagash lose.
Death needs a new God. Nagash is so damn lame.
when did you start playing Death in warhammer?
Not gonna lie; just based off of your retelling of the story it kind of seems like the writers were just told to make the mortarchs lose and the writer assigned to the Arkhan story didn't know how to do that while making his actions make sense.
You’re so generous to GW!
Ya know, Doug, from what I’m hearing in these vids thus far is “I don’t like the LRL as a faction, especially teclis specifically, I’m a fan of death factions and like that lore and it’s characters way more” which is fine, of course, but you’re normally super unbiased in previous lore vids so these have been somewhat bittersweet cuz of this obvious nagash and mortarchs favoritism.
No biggie, like it’s all love n stuff no hard feelings, just wanted to put that out there in case others have felt the same way I am, trying to give honest feedback that’s all!
I mean Arkhan isn't a general, but is intimately loyal to Nagash, and would want most to answer the insults from the previous chapters and establish a permanent hold in Hysh, which being bad at tactics he fails to do.
and to the people saying Death is Loosing to much... well they're seriously outmatched, the Lumineth are some of the best fighters in all the realms and they're especially good at undoing the magics holding the dead things together, Frankly I am surprised the Riders were even able to be harried because the skeletons don't really have an effective way of fighting them
Ossiarchs are made with the combined souls of the greatest mages, warriors, and generals of history. Any ability you describe to the Lumineth becomes theirs as soon as they kill Lumineth, except things like the aelementors since they wouldn't listen to an Ossiarch even if it had part of a Lumineth soul that knew how to talk to them.
LrL just became a super power. How in the absolute fugg does a new unexperienced god just 1 up Nagash who has been here since Warhammer began. i expected both Nagash and Tecilis to both be gravely wounded aftedr their big confrentation and end up double retreating....
NOT A GOD DAMN BLOWOUT ITS INSULTING TO THE POWER OF DEATH ITSELF!
@@MrSolidsnake293 Teclis has been a god since the age of myth? He isn't a fresh god, that is Morathi who just attained godhood.
@@Waywardpaladin despite this point Tecilis just started manifesting himself in the Realm.
your arguing a new god with minimal experience just KO'ed deaths Main leader.
this isn't an argument of skill its an experience viewpoint. Tecilis despite being a god does not have the same experience in Godhood as Nagash period.
Tecilis and Nagash should both have mortally wounded on another forcing a full retreat from both sides, not the blow out showing LRL had in this lore its like they could take on Chaos by themselves...
@@MrSolidsnake293 Teclis was manifested for thousands of years. He built the Enlightenment Engines during the Time of Myth, the Lumineth had their Time of Strife where they almost destroyed Hysh themselves and then rebuilt it, Teclis struck the pact with Celennar and taught them how to work with the elements of Hysh. Just because the models came out recently doesn't mean Teclis and them haven't been active.
Carstein almost certainly sounds better the German way, like Rammstein (a-een)
This whole story is surprisingly trash. Perhaps it is the paraphrasing, but my god it is still awful. I agree with your take on it being written in a vacuum and is a great point about the ending.
The only way Nagash is coming back is if one of the those shadglass has the soul of Krell.
Not a single person or creature in death right now has any reason to bring Nagash back...
This entire lore dump was just LrL overpowering the entire Death faction and is truly insulting, I expect the revenge to be paid in double....no triple
The elves are getting irritating; especially after reading the "Enlightenment" short story in Warhammer community. Their haughtiness doesn't make me want to support them, but just makes me want to see them get smacked down.
As for death, having all those 3 Mortarchs fail, negatively affects their credibility. Especially, since it's been a while since we've heard from them. I think the cost to defeating them at least should have been much steeper. It's also a bit jarring how death was supposedly becoming this ever growing threat when the Ossiarch's were introduced, only for them to be beaten decisively in a single book. This also seems to bring the soul wars to an abrupt end. It was a long drawn out conflict between Azyr and Shyish; Hysh's victory seems unearned in comparison.
I'm wondering how this book changes the realms. Does Teclis reset the world back to before the Shyish nadir? Does it go back to the status quo from before the necroquake? I don't think it would be interesting if they just reset things.
Really hate how all the *good guys win every time. It's dumb and not interesting
LRL are turning out to be quite Mary sueish......
LRL is weirdly alone in this aspect. Stormcast loses all the time but LRL? They've yet to lose any real battles.
Arkhan is a lover not a fighter
Neferata knows.
bullshite Arkhan is the one who tricked neff into messing up the Elixir of life, if anyone created vampires it was by Arkhans choices
