People love to hate it. My sisters are young enough to have watched it growing up, so I am vaguely familiar with it. To be fair, he is a whiney brat (moreso than most) and the show didn't really build any cognition around children's socialization, it was moreso just straight "listen to your parents/teachers and don't hurt feelings." Problem is, rather than really building the cognition around why parents or teachers should be listened to, the parents and teachers portrayed were also largely unlikable and it was moreso straight out telling kids to do it rather than helping them understand why (you know how well that goes). Didn't really show that actions have consequences very well either. Just poorly thought through "You are a kid, therefore you are a brat. Be good."
Me neither. I thought that GoAnimate was just one dark-area of Caillou's hatedom, but I guess not. 99% of people around the world really hate Caillou this much, with barely anyone disliking it better than GoAnimate... 😕😔

I think by "canceled" they mean "pulled from their schedule." Because the show already stopped airing new episodes in 2013 (but my local PBS station stopped way earlier and hadn't aired it since around 2007-08).
PBS kids is literally the only place I watch with no cable. I'm not one of those kids who have disney channel on the TV. I also live with DVDs growing up.
