    Does this work the same way other echo's do where if there are multiple echo's in earshot, only the one that hears best will respond?

      We have one other Amazon device (a dot) in the same room and it seems to work that way. Also, if music is playing it turns it down to listen and respond.

    I purchased one of these a couple weeks ago, but frankly the Alexa integration was terrible. I was expecting the full range of Alexa abilities, but it was nowhere near. Can't do basic features such as smart home control or call making, you can't even stop music with your voice! Next time, I'll be buying an echo dot and a Play:1 so I get the full features of Alexa. If there is one good thing, however, the sound quality was excellent, as with all Sonos speakers, but no more than the Play:1.

    Can I use two Sonos 1 for outside party ?? Is voice going to enough for 20-30 people gathering ??? I do have WiFi signal outside

      Two Sonos One would be good for medium volume/Background at a party, but Play 5's are better if you want loud with better Bass.

    Why could you open 'Sonos Skills' without setting it up? it wont let me get past that stage?

    • @ComputerAdv

      Possibly because we had another Alexa device in our showroom previously (an echo). It was able to relate with our Play:5 and Play:1. If you have a problem you can add the SONOS skill in the Alexa App or at alex.amazon.com. It was in beta when we added it so we had to agree to the beta terms. Not sure if it exited the Beta stage now that the Sonos One is out.

    Can I use this as a PC speaker or does it just play dedicated songs/media?

      It is not a PC speaker. It is designed to be part of a whole home system for music listening.

    Good video but you should really improve the audio. Maybe wear a tiny microphone clipped to your collar

      Thanks. It was supposed to be blurred out... it has been changed and the video will be updated.

      ComputerAdv it would be nice to have an audio comparison between this speaker and the new echo plus if possible.

      Michele Deviato I agree. I preorder the echo plus but now starting to wish I heard about the sono first. I currently have an echo original version so the sono on top of that may be a good choice.

    can't play your own library from your phone/PC, you can only stream music..bummer

    • @ComputerAdv
      @ComputerAdv  Před 6 lety +1

      You can play from your music library with Sonos, with full control within the Sonos app. However, Alexa voice control will only provide control after you have started playback from the Sonos app. So, if you queue up a Playlist from your Mac/PC library with in the Sonos app, you can then turn off your phone (or just not use it) and use Alexa to pause, skip, turn volume up, turn volume down.

      Also, when AirPlay 2 is added shortly, one can circumvent the Sonos app entirely.
