- Today we thought we would give you some info on how to rebuild your S&S Shorty Super E and let you know just how and why it works. I love these carbs and I use them when ever I can. I know there are many different choices out there and many who like other brands but each to their own. Hope you enjoy this video and maybe learn a little something. Enjoy!

Not that's a great Comeback 😝😝
You got it ha ha
Lovin the videos, Ralph. I’ve been binge watching during the storm. Is that basically the insides of my ultima carb?
I picked up a 1980 FLH and it has one of those carburetors and it's been sitting a long time. Getting the accelerator pump to spray in a fan setting is tough...
You can check that the nozzle is not plugged up. Not all will give you that perfect spray. Good luck and thanks for commenting.
Nice job on explaining one question! You removed a spring under one of the balls in the pump housing, you took it out but did not replace it! Does it need to be under that one ball or ok to not re install. Don't remember having one in mine however took it off several months ago. Please Advise if you still have your channel. Thanks Again Spot on description no guessing
I know it wasn't shown specifically, but it did go back in and you need it there, under the ball. I had the question before here is what I replied to another commenter. I think if you look close you will see ball sitting up on top of the spring. (18:35) If it was not there it would be deeper in the hole like the other Ball Bearing. If you look at 18:28, when I am putting the "O" ring in you will see the spring sticking up. Wish I had been more clear about that but when you shoot a lot of video sometimes a small detail might not be clear enough. Thanks for commenting and hope this helps.
Best video on the explanation yet thanks
Thank you for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for commenting it is appreciated.
Hello Ralph, real good video. Thank you so much. I am rebuilding a super E where do you buy your rebuild kits at? I want quality not Chinese.
Hello and thanks for the question. I Get all my rebuild parts from Preston Cycle in Ont. They carry all the genuine S&S parts.
@@itsmytimeletsgo Thanks Ralph
Preston won’t sell to me, only sell to a shop 😮
Can you post a video of how to replace the S&S E accelerator pump nozzle that is pressed in. The is not any info out there..
Hi I do not have one to play with here, to just pull the tube out of. That is not a normal thing but according to what I can find you should be able to pull it out and then press and new one in. If your spray is the problem you can clean the top slot out with a razor blade to make sure its clear. You could check with S&S tech department themselves for the exact safe procedure. Good question. Just got a ss super e carburator for a 85 Harley Electra Glide 1340cc it has a voes switch hose that i don't know what to connect with the carburator
Hello There should be a nipple on the top rear of the carb near the throttle cable support, or on the manifold itself, to hook it to. Unfortunatly some of the earlier S&S carbs, for shovels, did not have one. Good luck. Thanks for the question.
I was curious if you forgot to put the spring under the bb in the diaphragm
I think if you look close you will see ball sitting up on top of the spring. (18:35) If it was not there it would be deeper in the hole like the other Ball Bearing. If you look at 18:28, when I am putting the "O" ring in you will see the spring sticking up. Sorry if it was not more clear. Just trying to get the idea across. Thanks for commenting.
Reading comments answered my questions however now need that spring under the bowl my rebuild kit doesn't have one and mine ran away
Have you ever run a Yost power tube in your E- carbs ?
No I can't say that I have. Do they make one for the Super E? Thanks for commenting.
@@itsmytimeletsgo Yes they do. I’ve used them over the years. They help with fuel atomization.
When I turn my fuel on it leaks out the nozzle
Could just be the float stuck, possible dirt in the needle.
I have a s and s 111 can I send u mine and you rebuild it?
Where are you at Jim?

DOOD WAS THEM HANDS 😀
Yes you are right "Those Were Hands". Let me help you with that. I think you might have meant "Dude Wash Them Hands" although I can't be sure. I'm a mechanic not a surgeon. Just trying to help others out. Thanks for the comment.
Thats not a rebuild , its an inspection
Wonder what your idea of rebuild is? Did not need to replace the flapper and shaft so I didn't. Sorry you didn't find it helpful.
He broke it completely down, cleaned it and added new parts, how is that not a rebuild?
