Chris sold me this charger and Im mating it to a new Steed-Speed manifold on my stock '06 5.9 to use for Ag/Cattle towing. (also picked up your boost leak kit) Will be using Stage-8 bolts and Fleece silicone supply & drain tubes to this charger for oil. Will report back how it performs with a trailer loaded down with round bales and/or cows.

Would love a video of the STR vs Stealth 64, trying to figure out what’s best for me between the two!

would this work on a 1999 5.9 cummins with bigger injectors?

We do make an STR-style turbo for the 1999 5.9L Cummins that will work with larger injectors. As well as a slightly more powerful 64mm turbo for 5.9Ls. Here is a link to both of them on our website: duramaxtuner.com/turbo-chargers/stealth-series.html?find=cummins-cma-1991-2002-30025&sid=3osSx6ycTi

Would this turbo be a good candidate for a compound set up in the future? if paired with a larger turbo?

That could be a possibility, we haven't had any set-ups like that yet.

Does it whistle out of the tailpipe ?

@onebadcumminssmith4377 Oh yeah, this turbo will definitely give you some nice whistle with a straight piped system.

Would that be a good turbo for compound set up? I don’t drag race or sled pull. I drive my 2005 Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 4spd auto about 8,000-10,000 miles a year. I pull a 11,000 lb fully loaded Toy Hauler about 6-8 times a year. To paint a picture I drive from Texas to Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia. So there is lots of hills. I would even consider a 64mm or 67mm turbo if I new the EGTs wouldn’t be a problem.

@stgraves260 Yes! The STR is a perfect turbo for a compound setup. Its lightweight rotating assembly combined with the larger compressor wheel and turbine will net you more airflow while putting less stress on the rotating components. This is exactly what you want in a primary turbo. You could go with the Stealth 64 for even more airflow but its really only necessary if you see yourself needing more primary turbo air flow.
