The fact that they thought of the idea for a game like this if someone drops out and the AI takes over til they return is awesome. So many games now days not always on Nintendo mind you don't have this option. Glad they did this. But knowing some people on here, someone will find something else to Bi%*# about lol.
This was my greatest concern as my internet has patchy moments.

It's great when Nintendo adds basic online features 20 years after everyone else.

Mario Party is fun if you have non gamer guest at your house. Great way to get them involved in gaming fun. Also if you have young kids, its pretty fun getting them involved. IMO Mario party is a must buy if you have a Switch.
This game is the only one that was able to make my wife get addicted to gaming, that's a win in my book, she doesn't play anything at all. One of my best purchases ever.

been playing this all weekend with my wife and this is the most fun I've had playing mario party since the gamecube versions. Getting back to the basics and getting rid of all the gimmicks is the best route they could've taken. Hoping this has some long term DLC plan for more boards and characters

Of all Mario Parties released, this is actually the first game in the whole series to score above 79. The first one on N64 scored exactly 79 and everything released later than that on home console and handhelds alike scored lower than that, until this installment which scored a solid whopping 80.
To this day I'm blown away Mario Party hasn't released a map creator mode

the online is the most fun i've had with random in a long time, the stickers where such a great idea

Finally they have got a grip and went back to what Mario Party is all about! Can't wait to get to play this tomorrow.

though they should fixed the 1st map so the star rotates when its brought otherwise you can lock people outta the island near the start

Mario Party 5 and 6 are my all time favorites overall... Wii had awesome minigames but we would only play the beach one-way board...

Great review, will give this one a shot. The last Mario Party game for switch seemed over simplified and the mini games were okay... Mario Party 1 & 2 were our family favorites..excited to see some of our favorite mini games and classic maps brought back in this version!

Yes yes! Having classic bonus stars lets you know what you can shoot for at the end. Never liked them when they changed the formula and made it random with cheeky bonuses like most red spaces or most money spent.
Those cheeky bonus stars have always been part of mario party. You can also turn them off if you choose to.
the music in the data house, so relaxing, could listen to it all day!
They should make the star price adjustable. Just make a setting to make it either 10, 20, 30 coins

If you played your cards right, you could literally get close to ten or more stars per game. This one is actually challenging.
there a chance to get star half price but you have to get that on lucky spot and its been 20 coins since Mario Party till the Switch
To me, the best Mario Partys were on Game Cube, 6 specially is my favourite till this day, this Mario Party Superstars is clibing the ladder real quick tho, played 10 hrs already and the game lauched yesterday it's a 8.5/10 for me so far, if they added 2+ boards, more playable characters and do some sort of holliday events like changing the board skin on christmas, or throwing in a limited special map for each holliday could easily be a 10/10
Now I'm really excited. They really listened to the fans, omg. That classic Bonus star option! It can't arrive in my mail soon enough.

You can play 2v2 online, though only if you have a friend over to play on your team on the same switch 🙄

@@obehiuadiale8400 Go to the Mt. Minigames (The boat) next to the green pipe, there is a 2v2 option if you're online. Also you are only able to play it if you have a friend over to play on your side for some reason
I’m really happy about this because the crazy motion controls, special dice blocks, etc, made too high a learning curve for having a Mario Party and it wasn’t enjoyable for newbies

This game really just should have been DLC for Super Mario Party Switch. They would've made wayyy more money in my opinion. That'd be like 10 boards in one game and then a massive pool of mini games.
Can you play a random mini game without playing the game properly? Like is there a section you can select and select whatever mini game you want to play? Does it have to be 4 players?
Yes you can, and it does have to be four players
Can you play couch/online multi-player? Pets say, me and my GF play on my TV (1 console) while a friend and his wife play at their home (another console)?
Mario Party Superstars really makes you feel like you’re at a party.

YAS! There's an option where you choose the "pack of mini games" you want, there's a family section where kids can play also you can choose the level of CPU or the difficulty of the boards, btw there's Mount Mini games where you can also have fun without the boards thing

When you said there are some minigames that are so close to each other that including both of them, it feels like a waste of space, there are other examples like Crazy Cutters and Trace Race both have you tracing lines or shapes and Ice Rink Risk and Pit Boss both put you in an arena where you have to doge things that bounce around the arena.
In the game's setup rule in bonus stars section, can someone explain differences when its ON, OFF, CLASSIC?

Boards in Mario Party Board World: Mario's Warp Pipe land, Luigi's Ghostly Mansion, Peach's Towering cake, Daisy's Cruise ship, Yoshi's Fruit Island, Wario's Coin Mine, Waluigi's Sports Club, Rosalina's Comet observatory, Pauline's NDC Performance, and the unlockable Bowser's Erupting Volcano.
I'm a tiny bit bummed that Slaparazzi isn't in this one, but including a minigame from Super Mario Party would be outside the point.
This game will sell super well and DLC will come out down the road.

Question: can minigames still be played with motion controls as an option? motion controls are intuitive, fun and super easy to use for newbeginners and non-gamers (and they're fun, lol), and I'd hate to lose that option :/
