@@anns8370 True Lies is one of the movies most closely resembling this premise, but I’m sure there are enough differences to make this one worth watching.
Basic premise (unassuming person turns out to have special skills and has hidden that secret life) with slight variations:
1. Mr and Mrs Smith (both husband and wife are spies and kept it secret from the other).
2. Knight and day ( boyfriend is spy)
3. Salt (wife is spy)
4. Killers ( husband is contract killer)
5. Keeping up with the Joneses ( neighbours are spies)
6. Central intelligence ( old school friend is a spy)
7. Mr right ( boyfriend is a contract killer)
I love how Kaley Cuoco seems to be everywhere lately. She deserves it so much!

Flight Attendant was just terrible. Based on a True Story, on the other hand, was a lot of fun except the underwhelming cliffhanger ending.
I love that Kaley Cuoco is at a place in her career where she can take any overdone storyline that sounds fun and run with it. She deserves the success - and I'm so excited to watch this movie.

They had great chemistry. Love Emma's attitude. Story has been told many times but this was a nice twist on an old tale.
I like how they gave the studio spambot this self-deprecating "told many times" catchphrase.
What is it with these "chemistry" comments? I mean, I am not saying they don't have chemistry. What I'm talking about is how these comments just seem to be omnipresent only in certain situations. For instance, if you have a white woman with any man of color, you see tons of comments about their chemistry, or how they are so cute together, etc. Same for a Latino woman, with any man other than a Latino man, with an exception I will get to later. Same for an Asian woman, if she's with a Black, or Latino man. The exception I noted, is if she's with a White man. For instance, nobody talks about how cute Tom Cruise and the Asian woman in The Last Samurai were. Put Chris Pratt in a movie with an Asian woman, or Latino woman, and nobody will rave about their chemistry, or how cute together they are.
This is even more prevalent with normal couples on CZcams. I've watched a lot of channels with interracial couples. That's why I notice this. Because I have noticed this trend. Frankly, I think all "cute couples," or couples with "chemistry" should be celebrated. Don't take my comment as being that this couple shouldn't be celebrated for their chemistry on screen. I'm saying that people should be aware when they have bought into an evil agenda that seeks to sow hate and division.
As an Asian woman I know, lamented to me once, she said, "Why is it that people feel so comfortable hating on me because I date a very good looking, tall, muscular, successful White man? Why do they accuse me of White Fever, simply because this man pursued me, and won me over? And why do they feel so comfortable accusing him of Yellow Fever? Why is this the case, but if I were the man, and he were the woman, that would be called hate speech?" She's right. It's not even debatable.

Simply put, I see two actors on screen that vibe extremely well together. Their relationship in my opinion is believably. The man's innocence vs the female's lack thereof play well together. I can care less about race.

Kaley Cuoco finally gets a significant role. Lucky her & is very fortunate to be able to work with Bill Nighy.
Finally?! She has been having significant roles in recent shows like flight attendant and based on a true story. Harley Quinn animated show has been renewd for a 5th season... even if its VA work its still a big role.

I've seen this story before but these two make me want to see it again with fresh people. David and Kaley have comedic chemistry. This is a must-see for me.

There have been many movies where the women are the assassins and their partners don’t know. You might need to brush up on your movie history. The ones that immediately came to mind for me are - Ghosted (2023), Atomic Blonde (2017), Salt (2010), Mr & Mrs Smith (2005), The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996), La Femme Nikita (1990) and I’m sure there’s more. I like the genre and they’re fun (brain off) popcorn movies and for that reason I’ll check this out to.

Yeah, even though the storyline has been done a million times...I too love these kinds of movies. They are usually very entertaining...an easy choice for a Friday/Saturday family night movie. I can't wait to watch it.

Great concept. Some very good one liners indeed from Mr Oyelowo. A small point... Seems to have been made in a rush so the chemistry between the main characters did not get quite enough takes perhaps...The quirky 'Lynchesque' performances from Mr Nighy and Ms Nielsen give an unusual edge to the storytelling. And now that Ms Cuoco is producing movies I for one expect many more borderline mainstream stories to be told in innovative ways like this! BRAVA!! (Btw really good call on going to Germany for the tax credits.)

So it's like 1/2 of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith"? Honestly, it looks pretty good. Maybe not the most original plot (see Mr. and Mrs. Smith, True Lies, etc.)....but still looks good.

Role Play doesn't just have funny scenes. This movie is FUN TO WATCH 😁😂👍🏾🏆. The whole family can watch together with some pizza, pop corn and something to wash it all down with 🍕🍿🥤.
The character of David works so well because there's some David in all Husbands who truly love their Wives. We need more family fun movies like Role Play. I hope they're planning a sequel.
