Man dont pay no mind to those who think they can do better. You do very good work and obviously dont get any complaints
Appreciate that!
@@SteamBossInc I've been doing my floors in TX with a shop vac and wand for years and have never had any problems
Man I miss waxing floors I love the process of it! I'd use a slow speed buffer to strip floors and a 32 inch autoscrubber with black pads to go over the slurry and suck it up so it's like a second go over while you suck it up...great job guys looks great
Thanks!
This video has been very helpful! thank you for posting your work. I moved into a new apartment and the CVT floors here have very similar quality. The integrity is good, but the top layer has been neglected.
Glad it was helpful!
I'll use that small buffer in my dreams as well I love machines like that
Great job! Looks awesome
Thank you so much 😀
I NEED YOUR HELP
Thanks for your tips I just got into stripping and waxing the end of 2022 3jobs so far I noticed you used a truck mount to rinse after sucking up wax
Can I do the same with my portable blitz or will it ruin my machine?
I think this is fun I do this for Detroit public schools I'll be doing it soon when there on holiday break
Yes detail work is important for sure. I would have put 5 coats on it.
Definitely an interesting video. For something like this, Pioneer Eclipse 440ST and a walk behind scrubber would make this much easier and less time consuming.
How do you guys go about with closets that are full, i know some guys just go around them and some pull out all the junk and strip and wax in their. How do you guys do yours?
A good strip/wax job is highly satisfying
What fid you use on it to strip it? Did you mention it?
question, do you ever run into a sort of crystalline buildup between coats? for the second year in a row this has happened and we can’t find anything anywhere online about remedies
I have had a cleaning company several years now and am going all commercial. I am doing my first floor this weekend and am so excited! Watching this makes me way less nervous! How much do you charge for a floor this size? Or how do you go about bidding floors?
Just redid a floor the same way today for the first time. I got gunk all over my cloths. Anyone know how to get it out?
How many gallons is your rigid?also is that the same hose that came with it.i have same wand you do.will it work or do I get another hose.thanks.any help is appreciated
I'm not sure maybe 5? and yes, it is.
Beautiful work
Beautiful work I learned a lot straight down at 1:00 thank you
Thank you very much!
I want mines done this you did a good job
Beautiful job I like it when you’re done the floor do you know polisher you were nice polish comes I’ll try spotlights
I work on maintenance in a hospital and its my first job like this and i like it!
Ant tips on vinyl and hard tile
prep is important and use a good finish!
What kind at wax you put in the end ?
Wet look Poolish (ZEP)
Or higher traffic poolish(ZEP)
You have to mop
Beautiful wish I had VCT
Nice work 🥰😍. I want to start a carpet cleaning and wax removal business. What machines do I need to rent from Home Depot that is effective to start with until I can buy better machines?
Qué clase de Marca oh clase de máquina usa para yo comprarme una cómo estás que tu usas
What stripper from don jon , there are several options available? Thank you
I have a question, after finish the last coat how long do you wait before you put furnature back onto it? I work in a nursing home and i take care of the floors. I've been researching the dry time of 30 mins. But it says i have to wait 24 hrs. Before putting furnatures back onto the floor.
The wax has to not only dry but “cure” as well
Basically the wax hardens
Generally a 24 hour wait
Nice job guys....
Thanks!
The best thing is to putt a sand bag on top of motor or use a old model floor scrubber polisher works the best on old floors.
Sounds like a good way to blow the motor.

Whats the best wax to use?
Me indicam algo? Sei que estou longe, mas tenho amigos comissários e podem trazer para mim. SUCESSO e um grande abraço.
Hey I do floors also. Do y’all use any sealers on the vCt tile or just wax? Just wondering I know everybody has different ways of doing it
The floor finish/wax is the sealer.
Can put 2 coats of sealer then 2 or 3 coats of wax.
Thanks for the video. Is your cleaning unit gas powered or electric? Not sure if there are even electric ones but just a friendly comment if its gas powered then you really want to avoid parking that close to an entry point so you don't ever have a carbon monoxide issue.
Thanks again for the video. Turned out really nice.
Its gas keep we always park with the exhaust facing away from the entryways, never had an issue. Thanks for watching!
What stripper are you using? I used ripsaw by buckeye and it’s like an ice rink.
this i believe was just zep
What hose attachment and squeegee vac head are you using on that Rigid vac. Thanx
Just the one that comes with it actually.
Nice work you guys! Don't worry about the negative comments. Your work speaks for itself. What do you charge per sqft for this and what is your minimum charge? Thanks for posting.
its CZcams got to have some negative comments LOL for VCT usually. $1
Hi I have the same type of floor and I would like to do everything myself where can I buy the cleaning and waxing supplies. Thank you!!
home depo, but you need the machines.
What stripper do you use? I'm working on some VCT right now
We use a few different products. most quality ones work the same.
What pap you guys use?
Great 🙂🙂🙂
How do yall keep from slipping and sliding? Is there special footwear?
Lots of experience and being careful.
Good job! Do you use pure stripper or do you mix it with water?
We always mix according to the bottle
Where can i find the head to suck up the water like that one for the vacuum
I would say any janitorial store should have them!
Great job awesome!!! how much do you charge per square foot?
Depends on a lot of factors most are around .75- 1.75
Does stripping remove yellowed wax from where runners were? I have a job that there is yellowing at the entrance.
usually yes
Can use a can of baseboard wax stripper with a black pad ,also a razor hand scraper. Do spots like that before main area.
What’s the ratio you’re using and how long of a sit time are you letting it stay down
depends on how much finish is on the floor. usually let dwell for at least 15min.
What chemical you use to strip terrazo floor? Thanks
Do you do the samething with 9x9 abestos tile?
you can.
What shop vac attachment do you use? I need one!
it's just a wand attachment with a squeegee.
Is it a bad idea to use the truckmount to suck up the dirty floor wax?
no wax we already sucked that up with the shop vac.
How much was that project?
Sq ft?
Do you have any recommendations of stripping a vct floor on an incline?
tough!
That machine moves so smoothly.. I rented one and almost broke an arm
Takes practice!
How do you guys clean the corners?
Mostly by hand!
hello, i work for a company that do strip and wax, but they think the wax is easy to remove, than we can remove the wax in one time, i told them than sometimes requires 2 or 3 times depend how much wax it has the floor but because they only charge for sq foot they don't see how much works it need to be done to remove the old wax and give us a very short amount of time to do that, just help me to explain to them how it really need to be charge and when is a lot layers of wax how hard is to remove all that please if you can help me with a comment so they can read it
and some times we need to removed a lot equipment in the suites
What chemicals do u using 😮
How do you market Steam Boss to get more VCT Strip & Wax jobs?
Probably not the person to ask we maybe do a handful a year LOL
How much did you price this job out for? I am a newbie looking to see if I am lowballing myself here?
I don’t remember but usually .75-$1
how to check if the floor is dry before applying wax?
You will see and feel it.
Do u suction with a regular vacuum cleaner ??
wet dry vac
What kind of machine is that?
How many minutes do you guys leave the striper down before using the machine?
And what tipe of padding you guy’s use?
Based on the instructions from the particular manufacturer, Inferno for example is a cold water stripper - 15 minutes is about right for that product. And as far as pads go - BLACK stripping pads for this kind of job - green or maroon do not have the grit factor to completely remove this much finish.
What kind of pad are you using on that buffer for the wax stripping?
black
Is it just a brush pad on the buffer?
Black pad.
👍
Great job Boss !!!
How much do you charge per square foot?
Really depends on the amount and condition could be anywhere from .80 to 3$ a sq foot.
@@SteamBossInc Does this price include polishing or is it separate?
what did you charge for this project? Looks great!
About 1$ a square foot
I just did this job in our clubhouse (60x60) and it's no joke. 3 days of stripping and waxing. I was hoping to get Steam Boss to do the job but they don't service my area Davenport, FL :(
Yeah that’s a bit far for us!
175 scrubber should have a solution thank to release water while scrubbing... This hold the stripper from drying n better results when running the wet vac
Two hands of clea water mopping to clean n remove any wax/stripper mix left
Third n final mopping with neutral floor cleaner to neutralize the PH
2 coats of finish
Burnish
2 finally coats n will b like this
our other 175 does this one does not.
looks like a mirror woow
what is the weight of that buffer?
not sure exactly probably between 120-140 lbs
How long did all of that take?
about 5-6 hrs
You should show us how you solve the issue when stripper dries up and what you do to fix it. Alot of beginners struggle with that issue and give up and don't like doing stripping and waxing
Just rewet with product and go over again.
Duh!!! 😂😂😂😂
Lay more stripper and scrub it again 👍🏾
Just apply more stripper.
Everything ain't for everybody
How many sq feet was this job and how long did it take?
It’s been so long I don’t remember lol
what chemical liquid do you use?
This was Zep floor stripper
How much did you charge on this job
I honestly don't remember, been awhile lol
Did you burnished it ?
no. strip and wax
What wax did you use?
Zep
What chemical did you use to strip the floor with
I work with my older cousin started 5 months ago we do supermarket floors or office even pre school
any floor stripper should work.
I remember when I was a DH in HK. It was my first time to work in that house (2nd employer). The flooring is same as that with my 1st employer's but I was puzzled how come the wooden floor is so dark and almost black. For a week I gradually removed the thickened "dirtwax" on the floor revealing the real lighter color of the wooden floor.
You need a front squeegee on a wet vac. The wand is too slow and too much work. It's 10 times faster. He also is doing too large of a area at one time.200 to 300 feet sections.
normally we do smaller areas but there where 3 of us that day.
And that vacuum will get full quick
What’s your CZcams channel? There’s always someone that thinks they can do better..
@@shawnsturgeon1014 I don't have a CZcams channel. I do floor work full time for a living.
@Mike Peterson same I don't do carpet but anything that's natural stone or copper brass I do
Why do y’all use pads and not a brush on the buffer machine?
A brush would not remove the old finish.
Have you ever had a job that you couldn’t get all the wax up off vCt tile or terazzo and what did you do?
I never did any carpet cleaning, but I've done a few strip wax jobs on floors like this, had to use a mop after stripping, a vacumn looks so much easier
What is that tool called?
which one? the main machine is a 175 buffer
This should be a training video on how not to wear your PPE!
We are owners not employees, not sure many who actually use PROPER PPE lol
I am a Manager and i don’t wear ppe. I would wear my slip resistant shoes when i scrub, thats it.
HELP!!! I need you... I've been on my hands n knees all day stripping my floors. It's killing me
you in florida? lol
What kind of chemical stripper are you using? I noticed that none of you are using shoe protection. Is this type of chemical non slipery?
this was Jon don brand floor stripper. Yes it's pretty slippery and we never wear our good shoes on these jobs HAHA
did you use any chemical ?
Just floor stripper
We work in supermarkets
About 650 job .
That floor in video isnt to bad. From title of video. Thought be way worse build up. Done floors in past. If tried to put floor stripper down. Then run a scrubber would stop dead in tracks. So would put solution down. Use a pole razor scrapper to get wax off. Then soak floor again with stripper. Then could run floor scrubber. Yrs of people just coating floor.Would equal a nightmare to get old dirty wax off.
Camera and video never do cleaning stuff justice unfortunately.
Hi, I work in a hospital as a cleaner for about a year and my job scope included polishing. The hospital uses vinyl floor instead of tile. I've only done polishing job twice and everything went very well. But recently, during the stripping process, everything went very well but it gets quite un-smooth during the polishing process. When i apply the 1st layer of polishing fluid(we use dolly mop and squeeze it damp, not wet. The polishing chemical is 502 Supreme Polish) , it become lines of continuous tiny droplets and appear obviously on 1st layer. I'll usually apply 3 to 4 layers of polish. At 4th layer, the finish looks good and the lines only visible when being looked at really up close. We also tried using lamb wool but god...the finish looks much uglier let alone last layer(4th layer). Do you know what might cause the polish become lines of tiny droplets? Some say wind blows, some say temperature, some say the mop is unfit for polishing job.
I'm not sure if waxing is different from polishing, but in your video, it appears that you use blower and apply the wax with kentucky mop(which in my experience it can hold more fluid than dolly mop). So i assume the wax property itself is different from polish. Just asking if you had experiences working with polish, faced the problem before and can help me solve it.
There are few videos i found online that uses dustmop. So we will try it out and see the outcome while waiting for your response.
TQIA.
yes wax is different you can use a flat mop or white wax mop head.
you don't think stripping brushes work better than pads?
We prefer pads
FEW THINGS IF YOU ARE GOING STRIPP A FLOOR DO NOT START, THE WAY THEY START IR DANGEROUS YOU ALWAYS START FROM OUT IN, NOT FROM IN OUT, BECAUSE THE STRIPPER IS VERY SLIPPERY.
He was standing in an already stripped area which is fine. But as you say, it is slick as snot and if you start standing in the middle of it, that machine will sling you all around.
A strong shampooer would have worked lol
*Stripping
Scrubber tenant much better 👍🏼
what kind of stripper do you use and what is the mix ratio ounces to water i do floors and i must say you did a really nice job i work at a college and its all tile floors that need help so any info from anybody would be much appreciated including you guys ....background i believe in the kjb bible version of faith and i believe the country is being led into the wrong directions ..fjb....bring back the man dt.
“First we put the stuff down” --- somehow not helpful. I see a long list of products in video notes - but no idea how to replicate this process….so, not helpful to me as a home owner.
No stripping in shorts.
It’s Florida we hot down here lol
you making your life harder use the truck to rinse the floor and to suck the dirty water up
Don't want to get the chunks of wax in the machine it's not meant for that.
@@SteamBossInc the filter catches that stuff there really should be any chunks except may if you have scrape area's or it real thick and it peeling off but then it still will not go in to the motor because of the weight
I still don’t understand why we do this in 2023?
Do what? Make videos?
@@robvett8584 no strip floors
And wax them!!! there is so much different material this days, but there is no need for this
