really interesting talks especially the ladies at the start for me

Its a shame that a holywood actress can not deliver a talk that has depth or make sense.
The organisers are to be blamed for not checking the scripts beforehand.

too many monks, esp female monks, wear glasses. to me this signifies imbalance, lack of consciousness.
i think the monasteries are too serious, too much like catholic churches.
too many rules and laws, that take away from natural enlightenment. why are people so stupid? well as ajahn brahm says to know meaning of infinity look at human stupidity. and luckily he told me to lower my expectations.

+hiso ksila Hi. I don"t understand your comment. Do you suggest for them to were contact lenses or no glasses at all? Is there a rule against contact lenses in some monasteries?

+hiso ksila I think she means that to many monks are imbalanced, and she know this because they wear glasses. I don't think so. Our eyes are also impermanent. I don't think ones psychical conditions necessarily ties to ones spiritual growth.

but why do so many monks wear glasses?
to me it signifies imbalance. poor diet, thoughts, sleep, consciousness.
from what ive seen in visiting monasteries is they are too dogmatic, too serious, too much rote, too much in their head, too much restriction. the rules do the opposite of their original intention: to help one become enlightened.
better if each person finds their own way to enlightenment, afterall it is via inside, not outside.
the robes and rules of living distract.

I think you are absolutely right about the rules and other restriction, like clothes. But I stil fail to see the conection with the glasses. I dont think you can develop sight problem by poor diet. Other systems would fail much sooner. like boones and imunity or brain. Maybe they all having glasses is racial problem or age problem?

+hiso ksila just listen to the video without watching it and your problem will go. Make sure you do this with all your next videos, to prevent similar problems from happening.
