- I sing Matthew Mercer's song titled Dashilla's Shanty and add a few lines of my own at the end.
He's made me really start to make my own small shanty's and songs and things. I hope to upload more of them here and share them freely.
One day I hope he hears it. - Hudba
Second Part:
"In times long gone she was surely loved,
her heart was kind and warm,
but cracked her heart like a broken dove,
a lovers wrath did scorn.
Her heart had sank to the deep and blue,
far from the pain that hurt,
She coldly hid from the world she knew,
Beneath the silt and dirt.
So ye be warned to keep far away,
her heart you cannot mend,
Or seaborn grave will be were you stay,
and there your tale will end."
EDIT
Good shot, but that one line goes "her heart you cannot mend".
Thanks for taking the time to comment! :)
Whoa, your voice is amazing! So soft.
I used this in my campaign a while back and I just wanna say that you did a fantastic job with that second verse. It even inspired an actual backstory for Dashilla in my game.
She was once a noble woman who fell in love with a peasant boy, and they were set to be married at sea during a migration of bioluminescent jellyfish, it was truly meant to be a sight to remember. But while the event was going on there was an accident, and the boat began to sink. Dashilla tried to escape but her dress slowed her down, and she held a hand out to her husband to be for help. Instead of saving her, he grabbed her ring and necklace and shoved her into the icy waters to her death.
Oh wow that's devastating! It's fantastic! I'm so glad my addition to the song could inspire creativity!
The momment I heard this shanty on critical role I knew there was going to be fan cover and amazing renditions of it! And boy, I was right! This is really good man! Keep up the good work! I enjoyed it a lot!
Thanks!!!
I love this rendition! Its very cool and thoughtful that you kept the same 9 6 theme with each stanza!
Oh my, I have found my lullaby. Thank you, your voice is made of gold.
Man, this is by far my favorite version of the song and I absolutely think you should continue making songs. A beautiful rendition, and one I'm now listening to on repeat.
That's incredibly kind of you to say. I have several little songs I'd love to share but haven't gotten the time or motivation to release. I hope to soon. Thank you for listening ❤️.
Sounds like mercer retooled the umberlee story.
A lovely shanty and a good inspiration.
I loved the shanty since I first heard it. Amazing rendition of it!
quarantine brings me to wonderful corners of the internet, awesome stuff man!
Thank you! So glad you like it. Keep on keeping on!
This is awesome, do you mind if I use the last part in my own campaign?
Man that really makes my day. I would be honoured! By all means.
I could listen to this for hours! This is extremely well sung and I love it a lot! ♥
Thank you so much!
A bit disappointed that I just found this it's great!
Why tf did it take me a year to find this and why tf does it have so few likes
This is very good.
Man! Well done, you did this song justice by extending it. I love it. Could I please use this for my brothers D&D birthday party? We are doing live music and I would love to play this with a band. Thanks ,
great job!
of course you can use it, it's kind of you to ask. Feel free to use any of the songs I've sung on my channel. Have a fun time at the party!
For some reason this made me think of "The beast of pirates bay"
Both brilliant songs
This is awesome!!!!
Thank you so much!
Using this on my newborn and she is calmed within seconds. Thinking about givning her Dashilla in middle name.
That's so sweet to hear! I do have another little lullaby I wrote up myself too, maybe she will enjoy it as well, though it is shorter lol

Well I just got Inspiration for My Fathomless Warlock
where once the waters rolled calmly by
whre oceans heart did sing
there stalked a lass with a hungry eye
with claws that grasp and wing
with lantern lure of a glimmer pot
with treasure in their eyes
below they swam to the gold they thought
would wait them as their prize
yet each of them went to surely die
their graves to not be found
for Dashilla and her hungry eye
collect the lost and drowned
in times long gone she was surely loved
her heart was kind and warm
but cracked her heart like a broken dove
a love whose wrath did scorn
her heart had sank to the deep and blue
far from the pain that hurt
she coldly hid from the world she knew
beneath the silt and dirt
so ye be warned to keep far away
her heart you cannot mend
or seaborne grave will be where you stay
and there your tale will end
Very last stanza
Bards see a challenge
the background noise is so loud tho. It's kinda distracting but the best version on youtube for sure
I'm glad you like it even with the loud background sounds. I'm not the best at editing so I'll try to make sure levels are more balanced in future videos. :)
Arykai its your voice that makes it good :) it really fits the mood of the song very well
@@JaraArts that's very kind of you to say and it makes for a good start to my day. Thank you. :)
Can you share the chord progression of this so it can be played on a guitar?
I'm really sorry but I'm not musically trained. I do not know what the chords would be. I'm certain they're posted somewhere in the Critical Role community. Very sorry. >.
