  • I sing Matthew Mercer's song titled Dashilla's Shanty and add a few lines of my own at the end.
He's made me really start to make my own small shanty's and songs and things. I hope to upload more of them here and share them freely.
One day I hope he hears it.

    Second Part:
"In times long gone she was surely loved,
her heart was kind and warm,
but cracked her heart like a broken dove,
    a lovers wrath did scorn.
Her heart had sank to the deep and blue,
far from the pain that hurt,
She coldly hid from the world she knew,
    Beneath the silt and dirt.
So ye be warned to keep far away,
    her heart you cannot mend,
Or seaborn grave will be were you stay,
and there your tale will end."
    EDIT

Good shot, but that one line goes "her heart you cannot mend".
Thanks for taking the time to comment! :)

I used this in my campaign a while back and I just wanna say that you did a fantastic job with that second verse. It even inspired an actual backstory for Dashilla in my game.
She was once a noble woman who fell in love with a peasant boy, and they were set to be married at sea during a migration of bioluminescent jellyfish, it was truly meant to be a sight to remember. But while the event was going on there was an accident, and the boat began to sink. Dashilla tried to escape but her dress slowed her down, and she held a hand out to her husband to be for help. Instead of saving her, he grabbed her ring and necklace and shoved her into the icy waters to her death.

where once the waters rolled calmly by
    whre oceans heart did sing
there stalked a lass with a hungry eye
with claws that grasp and wing
with lantern lure of a glimmer pot
    with treasure in their eyes
below they swam to the gold they thought
would wait them as their prize
yet each of them went to surely die
their graves to not be found
for Dashilla and her hungry eye
    collect the lost and drowned
in times long gone she was surely loved
her heart was kind and warm
but cracked her heart like a broken dove
a love whose wrath did scorn
her heart had sank to the deep and blue
far from the pain that hurt
she coldly hid from the world she knew
    beneath the silt and dirt
so ye be warned to keep far away
    her heart you cannot mend
or seaborne grave will be where you stay
and there your tale will end

Can you share the chord progression of this so it can be played on a guitar?

    • @DragonArykai
      @DragonArykai  Před 3 lety

I'm really sorry but I'm not musically trained. I do not know what the chords would be. I'm certain they're posted somewhere in the Critical Role community. Very sorry. >.
