- This board does not start up at first and then shows some sound and graphics issues. Altogether an easy fix using my newly acquired Fluke 9010A with its Z80 pod for the first time.

The pattern on the screen is the stack pointer you see is addres Hex 0039
The Z80 is executing RST #38 over and over again.
Pushing #0039 on the stack while decreasing the stackpointer. The entire ram is filled with 0039
Not a difficult repair ? I couldn't fix that board if my life depended on it. Great Video !!

You lucky guys with your Fluke 9010A's LOL... I've been trying to get one for years. On the rare occasion that I find one, it's really expensive, and usually missing the pods.
I was just lucky and got one with a whole bunch of pods in an auction. It was formerly property of the german military. Don't know what they would have done with it but it was all complete with all sorts of ic adapters, probes, packages, manuals, even the cassette tapes for the build in "datassette". The seller did not know what he had. I was REALLY lucky.
I finally got one, and hopefully I'll have it up and running soon. I also got an aftermarket Z80 pod to start with. The hard part will be finding an affordable 6502 pod, which is what I really need.

The memory mapping sheet doesn't give the ROM range for ROM testing the "test mode diagnostic program" that is loaded on the ROM chip. When i use an external ROM reader to read the ROM contents the software program displays all the ROM address in hexidecimal values but I can't tell where the "test mode diagnostic program" is, how can you tell? The arcade Game program code loaded in the ROM chips is written is what programming language did they use back in the 80's?
hi, i got the same sound problem in my DK arcade, insert coin no sound, intro donkey kong in the lather , donkey kong teeth, jumping barrel point and rolling dead no sound, what eprom you fixed for sound. thank you!

Hi.... All of a sudden my DK machine stopped showing Mario,Donkey Kong, princess etc on the screen. Only the main red levels of the firsr board. Did some chip on the board fail? Please help. The game functions normally just the images of the gameplay are not there.
thats cheeky that selling you a board with BLANK eproms!!
I guess the pervious owner never knew what exactly was wrong with the board. Also I don't think anyone really actively deleted the eproms. Well except the sun that is... :-)
Did you have any problems finding the Z80 and 6502 pods? I've been
trying to find them in the UK for a while but no luck, there pretty rare
over here.
I was lucky and recently found an ebay "buy it now" offer for a fluke 9010 complete with z80, 6502 and 8080 pods, probes, socket adapters, tapes, manuals etc. I found it to be hardly used and in very good condition. And it was also way too cheap I'd say... So just keep looking!
The pods sometimes come up for sale on ukvac forum if you're a member but they show up more often on US and Canadian ebay. I gave up trying to get a 6502 for a good price and ended up getting a 6800 from Thailand of all places and converted it to a 6502.

You're lucky you didn't damage your Z80 pod, you NEVER power up the board before the Fluke. Always make sure the Fluke is on first. Great video as always. :)
