Wonder if the Dixie Cups ever thought this iconic song would span the globe? I grew up near and lived new New Orleans from the fifties until 2010. The music that came out of there in the fifties and sixties was great. Fats Domino, Irma Thomas, The Nevilles, Lloyd Price, Johnny Ace, Charles Brown, Ernie K-Doe, Frankie Ford, are artists from there. It was and is great soulful, happy and bluesy music. Long live Rock "N Roll!
IKO IKO Original Song by New Orleans Own DIXIE-CUPS,...Beautifully covered. But I can't help but Wonder which member of the Chorus said Let's Do IKO IKO.Love It.Love& Peace 😁😎 luv ya byo eJ
Actually the person who wrote it was, James "Sugar Boy" Crawford. I think it was in the early 50's. The Dixie-Cups sent the song to the charts in the '60s.
Lmao I just came here from vide Captain Jack live and this is like dying in comparison :D:D That no energy here :D And drummer without any drive, that rly sucks :D
