  • The plaintiff hired the defendant to repair her car, but it took him two years to fix. When the plaintiff got back her vehicle, she says it was a mess. There was oil on the seats, and it still doesn't drive right, so the plaintiff is suing for the value of her once-good car. The defendant argues the plaintiff asked him to store the car because her license was suspended. Besides, the vehicle was running perfectly when the defendant returned it. The defendant is countersuing for wages he says he's still owed.

      Wasn't Firestone the second opinion? She went to him first. Maybe a third mechanic would've gotten her right. He lied and said he didn't have to bother it. Then he said he did. I'm going to need the judge to not act like people don't drive without having a license.. so she could've been telling the truth about wanting her car but didn't want to say that to a judge, knowing she didn't have a license at the time he was "fixing" the car. Not making excuses but just being real. They both were being foolish though.

    If you strip the crank bolt the crank is no good and is cheaper to replace the engine but what happen here is he didn’t get the pulley all the way on the crank so the bolt only grabbed a very little of the threads and stripped them and since it’s a pressed pulley the threads that are left are not reachable because the threads that are there are stripped and will not pull the pulley all the way in to reach the threads that are still there. So I agree with the mechanic that wrote the report

    Of course the shop told her that she had major problems with the car, IT WAS FIRESTONE. She probably went in there and told them exactly what she had already had done and they took her for a fool, and thought she would pay to have a new engine put in. I doubt that many people have ever heard about the legal problems that Firestone has had for over charging and repairing things that didn't need repairing. They were bankrupt for a long time and are still trying to get themselves back to making a profit, which is why they charge so much. I have my vehicle fixed there when it's something that I want to be able to utilize the warranty on while traveling. Other than that I stick to tires and lifetime alignment package. It only makes sense to pay more than you would to your neighborhood mechanic if you are repairing something that you would need to take to the original repair shop for warranty work and Firestone is a national chain that can be found in nearly every state. If you don't have a repair that comes with a warranty then go somewhere else, I guarantee it'll be cheaper. They have to get the money to pay back their creditors from somewhere, and the customer is always going to be that somewhere.

    Never go to Firestone or any other chain repair shop. They will tell you all the things that aren't wrong with your car to get you to pay more money.

    That dude is very good looking man and he’s looking straight at the judge and you can tell he just bought that shirt and put it on the first time without even ironing it

    A stripped harmonic balancer (crank pulley) retaining bold absolutely would write that engine off, the thread inside the snout of crank is not just something you can repair without precision machining which would require engine removal, complete engine dissasembly to perform correctly, at the very least the keyway that aligns the pulley would be damaged if the motor was run without the retaining bolt to do its job, he botched that job and he knows it, if the girl had brought in an expert (an actual mechanic) to explain then old mate backyard mechanic wouldn't have got away with it, that said it was a clunker and no doubt she left it there to long.

  • @DaveRogers583
    @DaveRogers583 Před 5 měsíci

    If the threads are stripped on the end of the crank shaft that means the crank shaft needs to be replaced. Which means pulling the engine and rebuilding the bottom half which means it's probably cheaper to replace the engine and if her car isn't worth an engine replacement then it's junk and this guy destroyed her car.

    Firestone is a rip-off. Totally lied about a pulley. Side bar head gear needs help for the plaintiff never get on TV with it. For the defendant, an iron should work since you can't repair cars, lol

    I don’t trust Firestone. They have terrible service. They claim any work done outside of them is done incorrectly and needs to be fixed so they can run up your estimate.

    One time I went to a fire stone in Santa Cruz ca where I don’t know the people and I had left a single tube off of the air box when I went to replace the air filter after I read and completely turned up the car.
    Car ran fantastic, so I took this tube off the air box just to see what would happen
    I ran a tiny bit rough and so I took it into the fire stone and they wanted about $1800 to replace the fuel pump in about three other things
    I told them they could show me what was wrong
    They went out there and I said I watch this and I put the air hose back on the air box in the car ran perfectly well
    I told him you guys are fucking thieves man
