Entrepreneurs Take Negotiation Skills To The Next Level | Dragons' Den

- Co founders of Look After My Bill, Henry de Zoete and Will Hodson, present a confident pitch to the Dragons and are asking for £90K for a tiny 1% of their website which automatically finds the best gas and electricity deals for consumers. Their multi-million price tag may have ruffled some of the Dragons' feathers but these entrepreneurs are prepared to negotiate the best deal.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

The second he said 1% for 90k I immediately had to dive in the comments
Tightest, greediest entrepreneurs Iv seen on the den ..! Pair of clowns ..! Lol
Still haggling over half a percent ..!! 😂😂
@@santoy1000 You see Clowns, I see tough negotiators who got Dragons to value their business at £4 Million.

They were certainly headstrong. I was screaming at the tv saying take the money at 120k for 3% with two dragons on board.
Anyone know what happened to this startup?
Homeless man: Got any spare change?
Touker: No but I do have spare offices in London
Most underated joke
xD
Luke Lancaster Mowbray If I was homeless I’d probably prefer the shelter than a couple of quid lol.
Hahahah

Peter looks genuinely pissed off that he got out-negotiated.
Absolutely. He stood his ground though, I like that.
Doesn't he have a deal with moneysupermarket?
He's the tech giant bruv
Good nuff' for him.
Yeah...that look on his face when the deal was done
this has all the makings of a classic dragons den episode:
peter wants way more equity than youre willing to give away
touker doesnt get out of bed
taj can build a brand
deborah asks about licensing
and jenn.. wait
*_*applause*_* ~ Amazing... a genuinely funny 'Jenny joke'... and a pretty fun analysis of the other Dragons, too! :D
Hahahahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂
JENNY ALWAYS ON PAUSE
Jeff: "Fancy a 2% share of Amazon's equity?"
Touker: "I don't get out of bed for 2%! I'm out."
Yep thats what I was thinking , like ffs it depends on what its 2% of
Touker: I don’t get out of bed for 2%
Guy seeking the investment : I understand
Touker : for that reason I am Out
Narrator in the background : Touker Suleiman decides to stay in the bed
The writers for the narration definitely earns their pay. The puns are one of the reasons i keep coming back to these videos.

Jenny likes this business because it helps people get out of previous deals.
That's a great joke.
Jenny having to laugh it off at the end when she realises shes got to find £60k
HAHAHA xD
This video seems to be the first evidence for a multiverse. It clearly depicts events from a parallel universe, a universe where Jenny Cambell is actually doing business deals.
😂😂
Jenny after the show: 60k for 1% of the business!! WHAT!! I thought it was 1 pound for 60% of the business! What have I done!! I don't have that kind of cash.
Stop it omg 💀😂
She offered 60k for 1.5%😀
Hahahahhahhaha
😹😹😹
oh she def has the cash. iDK why she’s so stingy, or hesitant rather, w| the investments.
"I'm Jenny and I'm out."
*Watches video
My world has been turned upside down
She knew no one would agree to that. It would have been ridiculous to say no straight away. At least shes half in!
I think she got caught in her own bluff. She was out and got pulled in so as not to look foolish. I wonder if that contract even gets signed.
@@turtleinashirt Naw, while she's miserly about her investments this is one that would be relatively low risk, runs itself and if it really takes off would be great payday.
Frankie Warman it’s a huge risk. He equity is very low for the asking price. IF they make it big that is were the risk pays off. After a bit of research on them, the negotiations took 3 hours, which we only see a small sliver of, so I do retract my statement, but nothing about this investment was low risk, but it being a financial product which happens to have a tech component is more in her wheelhouse as an ex-banker than something like a cupcake product or one of the many inventions she passes on all the time. I don’t tend to view her as miserly, but as selective based on her area of expertise. Though the “I’m out” meme is quite fitting for her due to that. But even she admitted she bluffed on the first offer though. She stated that she threw a “curveball” because all of the dragons were interested and it would have mitigated her risk.
The narrator is just invaluable... i would never keep track without him 🤣
I know from comments many people seem to love him and the puns he reads but I don't know what it is I'm just not feeling the same, now the bloke who narrated come dine with me he was good
They should’ve known they were screwed when Jenny stayed in with an offer like that 😂
Tej was such a boss that got the deal in the end even with what peter said about him
To be fair, he wouldn’t have got it without Jenny 😂

She made a nice $350k profit off this deal as well
@@Figgy20000 Good, that was the point of being an investor :P

Jenny actually played everyone. She knew what she was doing.
She out-played them, out-classed them and out-thought them, i see a trend
January Baby and she was out
i never thought i’d see that said in my life
For some reason Peter thinks he's a super dragon but soon he realizes he's in big trouble and reduces the amount of equity he asked for
Jenny: I don't have any money and need to reduce my bills, and for that reason, I'm in.
I dont think Jenny is a bad investor. Shes a cautious one and a Hard at bargain as shes been in the bank world. You learn to say no 🤣
The meme exists because during the pitches she contributes so little, rarely anything industry-related and also gives poor reasons for why she is out.
And for that reason she’s out
Also let's not forget that she hasn't got as much money to play with as some of the other Dragons. Of this panel, she is by far the poorest.

Jenny redeemed herself securing this deal in my eyes. All Jenny jokes have been cancelled. She litterally spoke to Tej and after the deal closed you could see him boosting her up in his ranks. Peter looked pissed and I got a lot of love for Deborah but she also knew she had been owned, the look on her face proclaimed she was flabbergasted!

This episode should have been called “the one where Jenny invests”
That was hardcore indeed... This is one of the first real negotiations I've seen in the den.
Peter's face when they secured the deal. He realised he missed out on something big. Him and Deborah could have easily secured this deal as two as well. Anyway the company was bought by GOCO Group Plc after appearing on this show became a subsidiary of GOCO.
Less than 1 year later - 25th July 2019 - £6.0m upfront, financed through the GoCo Group's existing resources, plus £2.5m deferred consideration, plus up to a further £4.0m performance based earn-out, leading to a maximum potential consideration of £12.5m.
At £9m it was undervalued !
@@maverickstclare3756 They knew its value. They all wanted it. Deborah should have had that. She was the first to put in a reasonable offer.
In years to come, people will look back and remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when Jenny *didn't* say, "I'm out".

very exciting ep... Thanks for the upload..
Just googled it: the company is doing fantastic, making millions every year!
Is that true?
How is making electricity cheaper green? I would assume the opposite were true.
"green capitalism" is never about green and always about capitalism
Yeah. For example, the 'green' and environmental cost of windfarms is huge, e-vehicles take a LONG time to amortise their CO2 cost, the list of problems is long, it's a complex subject.
One should distinguish between capitalism and croney capitalism
Best

This is the best! Peter and Deborah lost out to tej and miss ‘I’m out’ is unbelievable, and how was Deborah competitive? She thinks she was. And the look on peters face after they got the deal was brilliant! Touker? ‘Don’t get out of bed for 1%’ suleman well? I don’t blame his principles

anyone else from america think this show is better than shark tank?
Look out for the new comedy Shart Tank.
From South America counts? In that case, I prefer the British version way more than the US version. It's more professional. More realistic. More refined.
I think I saw a clip of Shark Tank once and I seem to recall the screen was cluttered with information like it's a gameshow. I don't need to see Dragon's bids on the screen, I can remember a name and a number for five minutes, thanks.
Dragons den is more professional generally and the Aussie shark tank is much more chill. I don't know how to feel about about the US shark tank, maybe it's too American 😅
