Flowmasters sounds great. But I'm just not a fan of the hallow tin can exhaust rattling sound that it comes with. It sounds as if the treble is turned too far up. Personally I like the Borla pro XS or the S-type setup. It's has a clean, smooth muscular sound, the way muscle cars should sound.
There flowmaster 44 or 40 people that 5.4 has a stock xpipe with that combo on flowmaster it's gonna be loud ! Those ain't outlaws so they have to be 40s or 44 I may be wrong about the mid pipe but just sayin
What is that setup exactly??? I have to have that!!! I'm getting a GT500 in a couple months... I had a 96 mystic Cobra with headers, Bassani off road xpipe, with 2 chamber Flowmasters and it sounded a lot like that... Ugh!!! God I love that sound!! I miss it!!! Gotta get back in the saddle again..
Mine is a 06 GT with an off road hpipe and 2 chambered Flowmaster 44's that sound really good until you hammer it and you get that damn raspy tin can sound !! This same setup sounds so perfect on the SN95(94-04) Mustangs because the mufflers are mid-mounted. On 05 & up stangs the mufflers are at the rear bumper and thats the problem....chambered mufflers need a few feet of piping before reaching the tips. God I wish Ford would've left the gas tank near the rear so I could mid-mount my flows and get that sound I truly want ! I wonder how mid-mount Flowmaster outlaws would sound with the off road H ?
Omg you took words right out of my mouth.. Your totally right about the muffler location!! It totally changes the sound.. I was gonna try and figure out a away to mount the mufflers mid way instead of at the bumper...lol.. Some how.. It just doesn't sound right with the newer mustangs.
People, stop putting Flowmasters on nice cars! Flowmaster is the Spam of aftermarket exhaust systems; it makes your car sound like a truck with an exhaust leak.

I have Flowmaster outlaws axle backs on my 2010 Shelby GT500 and they sound awesome.
do you have an offroad x-pipe also? If not that sounds really beefy for just axle back. Just curious is all thanks!
that definitely has an offroad mid pipe. just an axle-back wouldn't that loud or raspy.
