This applies to nearly all brands of clothing dryers. Some may have slightly different layouts, but the components are generally the same.

Love how you showed us how to fix the belt and all the interior parts. But, yeah, you did skip few steps, but I got those from other YT videos. So, thank you for sharing your Knowledge. Much apprecaited. We are doing it now, and I don't understand why there is so much lint in ours. Yes, we clean it out, but MAN OH MAN did we have lots of lint. So, anyway, we're doing it slowly but thanks for helping my family save money.
AWESOME vid Bud. Thank you. Clear and concise.
Easy to follow directions. I ordered the parts I needed through your Amazon link. That was the difference between the other fix-it videos that I watched and yours... you had a link to the dryer repairt kit and parts. Thanks!
Dang show me how you got to that part first. What did you take off etc. I hate these step by steps that skip like the first 5 steps

You just start taking screws off and remember where they go after. It's not rocket science.
@@hockeyvice That's what I was about to ask next, thanks
Common sense. if you can’t unscrew the back plate to get to the motor then you should leave it alone for a repair man to do
thanks, this was helpful for me in replacing my idler pulley assembly.
Thanks for this. I did this repair today and your clear explanation made it much easier to do.
Thank you for the video. I am not very mechanical and it took me less then 30 min (a week to order parts) and $60 and my dryer works great now.
great video of all the parts that may need replacing which is really helpful. Also you showed how the belt is installed.
Hey everyone, if u have a whirlpool duet dry and your belt pulley is squeaking. You don’t always have to change it or replace it, try clean the shaft pulley with a pice if fine sand paper or crocus cloth. Use a few drops of oil and presto no more squeaking. Make sure you whip of any excess oil. Hope this tip, helps and saves you a trip to the appliance and and some money.😜
Thanks
If you have a whirlpool duet, you gave 2 of the worst appliances ever made. I speak from experience.
I'm going to try and get to those wheels on my 8 year Kenmore dryer, thanks for the video, well done.
I thought you did a great job of explaning. Thank you very much.
Thank you this really helped when it came time to put the new belt on. I really did think my belt was too big.
great tutorial, everything you did in your video was a great help thanks.
Perfect video, saved me a service call. Thank you!
thank you ima do this! looks fun
Thank you for posting this video. It helped me a lot. My dryer was screeching about a week and a half ago. I watched your video and a few others and found yours to be the most helpful. I bought the parts, got them shipped to me, and fixed it. My dryer is now practically sound-free.
Thanks for this. Helped me fix the problem in 25 mins for 15 bucks.
Thanks for the excellent video and explanation!
Excellent. Thank You.
Thank you for the video it saved me from calling someone to repair it me and my boys fixed it thanks again! these videos have saved me several times.
someone had made a comment about oiling it and maybe that would fix the problem actually I did spray WD-40 on all the rollers and wheel works great no need to be replaced eventually I'll have to replace them but as for now no. I would definitely try to oil them first before replacing you have nothing to lose.
Anyone reading this 6 years later please use a real grease and not wd-40. It may work and sound great at that moment but wd is not meant to lubricate long term. It will dry out any plastics and your belt to the point it fails much quicker. Just a friendly warning. Wd-40 is great for many things and will help loosen stuck pains in our ass but it isn't made to lubricate or grease something like bearings.
@@licentiousdreams - Great call yes WD-40 is not the appropriate solution. Use something like lithium grease spray or repack the bearings
Thanks Adam
Thanks you just saved me $500.00+ on a new Dryer. I sub'd your channel.
After opening our Amana and moving the drum around to get at the faulty solenoids, the pulley fell completely out of place. We couldn't figure out how to re-string it until watching this video and seeing it get looped under. Hooray, working dryer!
Well looks like my next weekend is booked😞 thanks for the video.
Thanks Adam :)
my dryer has the lent trap in the front how do I take it off?
Thank you for the tutorial. I have the se dryer but how do I open it up?
I would like to know too
Small sheet metal screws
Do you need special tool to take the pulleys out?
Adam how much was the kit?
HOw did you get to the areas that ur showing ... the wheels and pulley ??
maryjomatey pull the drum out
Is that the front or back? Looks like the back with the vent tube.
So, I didn't have the snap ring removers, I went w/ the lubrication. Please include a link in the description for the kit, as I'm sure us 'lubricators' will need it in the future. So far the lubing is working, but I recommend actual lube like Tri-Flow instead of a water-dispersant like WD-40. If it eats bike chains, it'll eat roller axles...
I hear some recommend silicone lube
Did you get them from repair clinic?
My 2 wheels spin freely but I noticed I have a squeak/squeal when I press against the back wall. Not sure what it could be or what's behind that back wall. When I spin the drum by hand there isn't noise, but there is noise when I press against the back wall.
Do you have a link to that tool you showed?
would like to see how to use the tool to remove and replace the wheels. I still dont know how.
Nancy little late here. But you use a circlip removal tool which has different size ends unless it is one made specifically for this job. Find the two ends that fit into the little holes on the clips. Install the end pieces to your tool by inserting them in the tools end slots and screwing them down tight into the tool. Then like a pair of pliers you insert the end pieces into the two holes in the clip and open up the tool which will cause the clip to expand and be able to remove it from its retaining groove. To re-install place new pulley on its shaft, insert the ends into the clip holes and open up the tool handles which will open up the clip and allow it to slide over the shaft end into the retaining groove. Release tool allowing clip to seat in groove. You likely could use a small screwdriver to wedge the clips off and press them back on with a little patience if you don't have a tool.
How do I remove the drum..?
Helpful video. Can I just oil the wheels as opposed to replacing them? They seem simiw to garage door wheels which must be oiled.
I would definitely try! It could save you from a lot of work.
I had repair dryer switch it was hard fine one had do on line have watch the plugs
Please show us how you remove the lid or where can we find those parts
right? i found this vid pretty useless. on to a more efficient video!
I'm going to have to check out my noisy dryer.
why woulwhy not just oil the pulley axles?
Great video well done. 👍😀🤛keep it up plz bro
how much did replacing all that cost?
DJMouthwash $20 or so...kits on EBay
Excellent instructional video. Straight to the point. Informative. Clear you know your stuff. Thanks!!!
My dryer is about 15yrs old, maybe even older. Where could I find parts for it?
+Eddie Milton Some parts you can't get but usually every part that breaks has a replacement. What part is broken? Many parts have part numbers written on them. Sears has a good website that I often use to find out the parts numbers. www.searspartsdirect.com/
+AdamDIY i have a 2007 maytag Neptune and it squeaks. am i able to fix this too?
This is an appliance parts place in Pontiac Michigan. They have most parts needed. Luckily I live less than 3 miles away. Here's their website or call them.
www.eapartsinc.com I have an old 2001 Kenmore dryer, they not only have new parts for them but typically they have them in stock with great prices.
Hope this helps.
Lori A was
My question is will Whirlpool products work on a Maytag ?
Excellent explanation and camera work. I just wished you showed one with the idler arm, which is s-shaped with a long shaft that goes in to the motor housing has come out of alignment when the spring somehow let go. I can't seem to get the idler pulley to properly run in parallel alignment with belt holder on the motor. This causes the belt to crab off the idler pulley.
Excellent video! Probably the BEST out there. Very well-explained.
you didnt show how to replace the wheel
matt wild
you remove the clips with that tool he had then the wheel slides off then just add the new one and replace it with the new wheel and replace the clips
Thank you so much I hate my squeaky dryer
And if all of those parts that you mentioned don’t squeak and are in good condition, then the last part to check would be the rear drum bearing.
If it's a GE or Electrolux dryer....
I'm 13 how would I do this easier
great video and thanks for doing this. My question is how to disassemble the dryer to that point. .. I don't see any obvious screws. I tried half heartedly to pry up on the top from the front. perhaps pry the front off? thanks for any help. Bob
Same boat bro. I removed the panel it just popped off was able to reach in.
Turns out, ours was an older model I guess. removed the front panel via two screws at the bottom of front. was able to disassemble, clean and grease wheel bushings. all is well. thanks again.
+Bob Wilson thanks. I finally figured it out also. I also cleaned em greased em no more noise. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
VERY helpful! Your instructions and video were clear and easy to understand. I've never attempted to fix a dryer on my own so I was a bit reluctant. I'm thrilled that I not only have a dryer that doesn't squeak anymore but I was also spared a costly service call! Thanks!!!
You don't need those special plyers to remove the rollers. Use a small screw driver and a putty knife. Save $20
A better tutorial to learn from is from partselect
Great video. Exactly what I needed to fix my squeaky dryer....all new wheels. Thank you!
Is that the back or the top? Terrible explanation
where do you get the kit?
You can order the kit from ebay! Around $50-60.
Show how to to take the parts your'e talking about off and on..... Ill look for another video on it.
You may have a vibration that happens to resonate with any sheet metal or mounting, so try pressing on diffirent places or prying during the noise. Be careful, good luck.
It would be cool if you had what the squeak sounded like.
Try and do this step by step from the get go 🤷♂️
Beautiful frends
www.partselect.com
That's where I bought my kit for Amana dryer.
IT WOULD'VE BEEN NICE TO C HOW U TOOK OFF EACH WHEEL, WAS THIS SUPPOSE 2 B A STEP BY STEP VIDEO....
Way to fix your dryer! be a doer well done!
u are the shit Adam ty for the video
Always take pictures before disassembly
Did not show break down.
be nice if we can hear what it sounds like before you fixed it
Might want to show how you do the actual replacing. Kinda of pointless.
Next time start the vid from the beginning.
YEP, the Dryer should never be through out... it is only a few parts to fix!
Heating element, pully wheels, motor.
Thanks for skipping some key sections!
Yeah I’ll just buy a new one
Wow that didn't help at all.
No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no they are not all the same they do not come apart all the same at all! The inside yeah! But the outside hell no
My family is a supporter of Bernie Sanders!
XD
Lol couldn't get the rubber off them wheels could you 🤣 you don't need a new kit you just need to know how to get it disassembled and cleaned
You showed nothing in this video!
would have been better to show the dryer as a whole and show more of the "how's" in the step by step process
Didn’t Lear anything. You need to show every step
Skipped so many steps so not very helpful
why bother doing a video and not showing people how to do rhings
Useless. Didnt show us how to take the wheels off. You must paid someone to do it for you
Lube and clean first. One may not need to replace the wheels and pulleys
You cut too much out. Thumb down!
