Hi, I noticed the cold air feed pipe on yours is screwed in place, is that just a self tapper and did you screw it in from front and behind to keep it from moving or just in the top? Th e part at 7:15 that has the bend in the pipe that goes to the air filter itself, on mine it falls out almost straight away when the engine is on.
Hi mate, very observant 😂, yes it’s a little self tapper screw just stops it from rattling as I hate engine cover rattles 😂, if yours just falls out all the time it should definitely help, but there normally a tight ish fit 😎👍🏻
You could mate, and may affect the sound but you would be sucking in hot air from engine/turbo etc, no good for power and noise is definitely all you would get 😂😎👍🏻
I know the feeling mate, but I hate paying someone else to do it😂, and if I do it I know it’s right or what I have to replace if I break it😂, can’t believe what u have to do on modern cars to replace stuff, u tried replacing the headlight bulb on the hid, wheel off inner arch out!!!
Ya what a pain that is too, i cant remember if it was a halogen headlight or indicator bulb. But i did just manage to change one with full lock on the wheel just had enough room with some cut knuckles and alot of swearing 😂. I haven't looked at the f series access yet is it the same?
To be honest mate, I’m not looking forward to it f series but, not looked into it🤦🏼♂️, all I know is I’m not paying for labour, as bulbs cost enough🤦🏼♂️
Hi mate don’t think so as the filter is part of the manifold, bad design, that’s why we just used a STD replacement filter, on the plus’s side I’d does make a small induction noise under load, might need do do a vid if your interested 🤷🏼♂️ 😎👍🏻
@@Tom-dz7of thank you for reply mate , I already replaced mine I know how to do was just wondering can I make even more airflow. There is tube goes from turbo but need to have a look. As now I have broken driveshaft lol
Hi mate all part no’s in the vid, boxes have been chucked now 😂mines a 330d, if you check on the website, as I did and any questions just email them, a lot of work on mine but worth it 😎👍🏻
@@330dfam hi mate thanks for the quick response. Watched the video so many times forgot you said it at the front. I used AUTODOC and it didn’t want to go on, yours look like it went on with a small bit of force. Have emailed pipercrosd and checked there website and says it fits, but Christ the force I was putting it and it still didn’t click on. Even lubbed the inside of the seal.
@ItsWourn you might not have it seated correctly then?, when you can double check, the only issue I had was the bottom seal, if it’s not in correctly will gag up an engine warning light after 10-15 mins of driving, sort it and you’ll be fine will clear 😎👍🏻
they need cleaned and oiled after just like any performance filter, if you leave it over 20k it will be causing more restriction than any stock filter. oem style cost half the price and actually filter the air.
That’s why u can clean them, just don’t need oiling afterwards as per manufacturer instructions, no danger of clogging air mass with oil afterwards 🤷🏼♂️
That's a huge myth that really has zero evidence ever to prove it. Its virtually impossible to contaminate MAF sensor with filter oil. It's just proving you don't know the product you're using and just wanted to make a video showing a simple way stop a strong engine breathing correctly.
Hi mate that’s why I hanged it 😂, she does a lot of miles, the side that was black is where the main air flow enters, the other side was ok, so it was still flowing something🤔👍🏻😎

Haha i remember doing this on my e90, strut brace was so tight didn't have a long bar at the time, i gave up and got the garage to do it. What a faff.
Haha that’s why I let Tom do it I wouldn’t have the patience for that 😂😂😂
Hi buddy, could you also do a test by leaving the small cover off the air filter at minute 6:45 or do you think that doesn't affect the sound 6:45
You could mate, and may affect the sound but you would be sucking in hot air from engine/turbo etc, no good for power and noise is definitely all you would get 😂😎👍🏻
