  • Thanks so much to Bailey @bhr redkrimes72mm for recommending this hill; as well it’s a training hill for him and the team of other highly skilled downhill crew. Looking forward to meeting them and really learning.
So much fun. A great variety of things to try and learn.
First time doing an asymmetrical board set up (Comet Orbiter) and felt natural. Actually compensated for natural instinct to back off on back foot without wobble.
A really great and short sunset slide session and looking forward to many more.

Brother I appreciate your continued effort. Just watching your vids here and there, I wonder.......how often are you skating not downhill? What I mean is , how much time are you putting in pushing around, cruising, and in general getting comfortable with a board ? Sometimes it appears that all downhill guys do is downhill.....but in reality most good skaters, skate daily and most of it is actually just pushing in different environments. Being comfortable is part of being confident. Being confident, is a huge part of DH bro. Find a local crew, they are out there brother. Best wishes.

Good point and thank you for the time of worthwhile comment. Truthfully, I don’t do anything but this and does bring up good points of just time on the board. I started out cruising every once and awhile, but lacked control going down hills…so because of my “all or nothing” personality-I stopped and do exclusively hills. It’s Sunday, so I’ll make it a point to a Sunday cruising session. Thank you.

Woah, most people don't ride different brand trucks for downhill because it is too unpredictable.
The Randal bp should work with the Caliber hanger tho, and vice versa. So it is best to use the same hangers at least - bps have less of an effect on performance.
However, you may need to do some shimming with extra boardside washers to keep the hanger and kingpin exactly perpendicular to each other, if you are mix-and-matching hangers and bps.

Thank you. I’m truthfully clueless and this helps. I didn’t like the rear set up and this confirms I need to change it.

@@cantskate5535 Many cast trucks are Randal geometry, and so are theoretically interchangeable: Paris, Caliber, and Boardnamics, for example.
The Randal DH 35° baseplate is popular for use as a rear baseplate (when shimmed properly). But please do use the same hangers front and rear tho. 👍

what was the bushing setup in the new Orbiter?
I also suggest you ride it in a wider wheelbase
also put the Caliber hanger on it instead of the Randal hanger! it should fit well

Bushing was Venom 95a, but nothing on top. Oops. Yes, going to put the Caliber hanger on. Thank you.
