I for one feel that they should just keep I305 as is, if only because it has become iconic due to it's sheer audacity.
Perhaps we the coaster enthusiast community should do an annual gathering, in order to show that while, yes, I305 is ridiculously intense, there is indeed a plurality of the riding population who is willing to take the risk of passing out, and that it is still worth keeping around (also, I've heard that if you book in groups, it's also cheaper for flights/lodgings, and that can make a difference, especially with how much everything costs these days).
This will also give more opportunity to enthusiasts who right now can't afford the expenses.

I understand for now it'll stay as an Intamin coaster, but Cedar Fair could get it re-tracked tracked by Chance Morgan probably at the same time changing it to a Hyper Coaster because Cedar Fair is done with Intamin, after they ripped them off giving them what they didn't want.
