- The third round of the FA Cup nearly sees an upset as non-league Blyth Spartans take a 2-0 lead against Birmingham City.
The travelling Blues fans famously take their frustrations out on Blyth goalkeeper Peter Jeffries on the way to a 3-2 victory.

What people don't seem to get is that this was the 8th fa cup game the spartans had played this year, and just getting to the 3rd round was a massive achievement.

I live in blyth haha, its not that bad
I live in Blyth and yes it is that bad. The Seafront and South Beach are great areas. But Cowpen, The Avenues and Chestnut are the equivalent to Compton. Not to mention that 60 percent of the shops in the Town Center are charity shops or corner shops.
Tough times for most of the UK though. Hopefully in a few generations Blyth can be one of the leading port industry towns like it used to be in the 80's
