Early 70’s Spent a summer in AZ with Grandmother. Went to many old west towns and tours. She Bought old coins and silver and turquoise. Tombstone and Bisbee etc towns are Spegtacular to visit. Thanks for the memories. ! Great interview!

Agree the hunt is a big part of the fun. I personally can’t stand to tube junk silver without hunting through it.

I appreciate Ben's perspective and information. Looking for the "good solid human beings" who enjoy the three H's: habit, hobby and the hunt! The habit makes you seek out information, hobby makes you remember not to spend too much, and hunt keeps you hoping that best coin will show up.

Hey i actually used to live in tucson he was the first coin shop i ever went to!
Ancient coin supply and demand is in part a result of the field being more challenging than modern coinage. I do think they're greatly undervalued, but I am also happy because this allows me to collect items that should by all means be beyond my means.
I also definitely identify with the point at 20:18 and have had to do some serious selling so that I've been able to go deeper instead of wider. This means that while I'm not able to afford every area that I wish I could, I can get the cool expensive coins from a handful.
Great to see the various channels collaborating like this. Someone interviewing Ben gives us a whole different perspective to just seeing Ben talk about stuff on his channel.
Great work, Speg. Ben is a real treasure for the collector community. Important point about the silver lining of COVID for collecting. I have a 50 year old collection that was stored away. I pulled it out about 2 years ago and have rekindled my interest and expanded it a bit. Ben at OPC has sold me a couple of CW commems at a fair price--website/staff are sharp.
I used to live in Arizona I loved it accepted as so dry hot can melt your shoes
He's a great, and real nice guy. I drive from Phoenix to not only visit his shop, but send off coins as well (a couple of my coins appeared in his videos). His staff are real knowledgeable, and helpful when I'm there and never have I felt mistreated or rushed to leave that wasn't of my own accord. Surprising, how many great coin shops are around our area.

I am looking at a gold piece (One that I don't normally buy, I buy 1/4oz coins -ASE/Maples/Brits/Phils) from a reputable on line dealer but I ran across this France Gold 20 Francs French Rooster Coin (1899-1914) AU for 354, I too live in the US, but I was wondering would you buy this coin at this price and is 'liquid-able' ,,,thanks!
Two of my favorites in one video! Love it! I agree with what Ben said about 8 Reales. Hard to find for an affordable price anymore.
On the point of grading, here is a great example. The Ozzy 2012 $2 red poppy is on fire! They also made an uncolored version...people are now painting the plains & pawning them of as a genuine red poppy😡
If you find a raw red poppy, be careful, if it's legit get it graded/verified🤑👍
