- Notions that the Russians are going to lose the war in Ukraine are “naïve,” says clinical psychologist Dr Jordan Peterson.
“Or that we’re going to win,” he said.
“I don’t understand that. What do you mean we’re going to win? What are we going to win here exactly?
Dr Peterson said even if Vladimir Putin allowed Russia to retreat from Ukraine, the country would be left in “smoking ruins”.
The fact that JP is considered controversial demonstrates just how lost our society is.
It's more that he talks a lot without actually saying anything.

I listened to Putins speech and he doesn't threatened with nuclear weapons,he only said that if some country will attack with one there will be the same answer.
I speak Russian and media's "translation " far from truth.
That sounds more believable.
Well when the clip is playing the subtitles are accurate when I watched it on fox, but then it was spun as a “threat” and “not bluffing”.
But the translation I saw was along the lines of “those that would threaten us with nuclear weapons should know the winds can change” or something along those lines.
Of course their "translation" is far from the truth. They're trying to push a "righteous defense" narrative on the general public even though NATO (and by extension the UN) has been pushing themselves into Ukraine's sphere of influence - understandably making the Russians nervous given their history.

I think this is one of the rare cases where Piers actually has some level of respect and admiration for the guest. How could you not? Dr. Peterson is not politically motivated. He speaks out of knowledge, experience and evidence.

The love and yearning for having children is unscientific and irrational, so deciding to have less children is the logical outcome of modernity. People just calculate pros and cons for having a baby, which should not be even a question to begin with. But with modernity, having a baby is a matter of calculation.
People calculate whether they want to sacrifice their time, money, years etc for having a baby, and most people don't want to do that sacrifice. Again, the love for children should be irrational, but being IRRATIONAL is a slur in modern era.

The statement in itself is true but it does not apply here. The West has already said no to Putin. It's tough for Germany but most European countries can produce enough energy for their needs and the economy of the west is far stronger than that of Russia. Ukraine depends on western funding in this war but as long as Europe counties to supply enough weapons, Russia can't win.

Piers does have a bit of a problem "letting others speak", but eventually he gets around to it. I never watch Piers, but clicked on this because of JP. After reading some of the other comments, it appears that Piers does indeed have a huge problem letting his guests speak. JP will not be "bullied" and will always get his point across, so Piers basically had no choice, as he's not in JP's league intellectually. At one point, I said to myself why the heck doesn't Piers shut up and let Jordan answer the question.

Many do not understand, but the Donetsky Front is one continuous fortified area. Russia is not using its full potential to raze Ukraine to the ground. Yes, it attacks military and energy centers, but it does not attack schools, residential buildings, hospitals, and so on, because Russia cares about the inhabitants and does not want 4 new regions to become a subsidized pit after the war.

Germany and other countries are (since February 2023 ) importing LNG from Qatar and USA and have new pipeline contracts with Norway, Algeria and Azerbaijan .

How to you define 'losing'? Losing the territory they've gained except for the Crimea? Losing the territory including the Crimea? Losing in the sense of being able to do nothing more than hold on to the Crimea, much of the disputed eastern territories and the southern corridor but able to do no more? or, do we define defeat as being Putin's failure to annexe the whole of the Ukraine? There's nothing "common sense" about this interview. If Peterson had any common sense, he would have come prepared with some basic knowledge about the dynamics of this conflict. It's common sense to know at least a little bit about the topic at hand, especially if you're going to go on TV to talk about it. Instead, he tries to be clever with wordplay about "winning" the conflict, in a way that's not really clever. Everyone knows that there aren't actually "winners" in a war, and pointing out the way that people colloquially speak about Ukraine "winning" by ending Russian occupation isn't edgy nor does it redefine anyone's perspective. I will admit I was impressed by the number of logical fallacies and backasswards mental flips he was able to complete inorder to fit the Ukraine conflict into his global warming agenda.

The trade off is so lopsided that I can't imagine there's anyway Putin is dumb enough to ever do it. But if he does, then Russia will be defeated that much sooner. Perhaps Peterson does better in the realm of psychology, but this take on geopolitics was pretty dismal.
