Not really a fan of basically one person being able to launch nukes effectively unchecked no matter where they are from
Putin cannot just launch nukes, he needs checks done via command, after that codes entered before giving the red butting the click.
When that clicks, it's upto the soldiers to authorise launch of either tactical nukes (small specific targets) or strategic (ones that can devestate an entire country).
It's incase a misclick happens, miscalculation or having to do prechecks before using a nuke.
So far we haven't seen much happen inside the Kremlin, guys there ain't too happy with Putin, even he is now scared by talking about the nuke.

In Russia it has to be approved by the defence minister and armed forces. Just the true facts, which again indicates that it will not happen.

Its not dude. Nobody is starting a war over a minor country like ukraine. There wouldnt even be nukes if he invaded NATO, it would just be a conventional war. Only major countries have nukes and they are not going to use them if their territory isnt attacked, this is a ridiculous fear. Putin is counting on westerners being afraid of these overblown scare tactics so he can get away with doing whatever he wants, its not the cold war anymore.

I don't believe that Vladimir Putin has the balls to use a nuke bomb.
Consequences of Putin backed into a corner would be catastrophic for the world along with Ukraine. Ukraine should just agree not to join Nato and Putin will have to back off or else he proves he’s truly a dictator .

Anyways peace is what I want but look up some of the guys I mentioned if you want to know more. Atleast a non western perspective. Look up the story of Stanislav Petrov, the Soviet soldier that refused to notify chain of command of what would have resulted in a nuke launch back in 1983, in what turned out to be a false alarm that was the result of an equipment malfunction in their early warning launch detection system.

There isn't a button to push. He has to issue orders which are then relayed through a chain of command which ends with soldiers taking a nuclear warhead out of its secure storage, loading it onto a missile, then the missile is programmed to strike a target and launched. There are quite a few people involved.
I thought if nato said Ukraine will never be part of nato the war ends.

As far as I know, In the US when the president gives the order to the people that control the launch itself of the nukes, they must follow orders and launch the nukes; in Russia if the president < Putin > gives the order to use nukes each "operator" can decline that order, they have more control. But the "general command" has the ability to launch each nuke themselves
They can say no and not follow that order if it’s not a lawful order in the US. Russia is completely different though

Checks and balances are intergral for a sense of self responsibility because whomever's job it is to push a button is not acting on a hunch but is pressing a button to end a threat. What threat is there for an identity problem based on a lack of self control? So it has become a control button. I think it is to end criticism.

Good point, he did say that any invasion on Russian Territory will be countered with an appropriate response, as for using nukes, he's only mentioned if any are launched at him, so, it begs a question, who exactly is threatening to nuke Russia? Last I heard, they threatened Europe, specifically the UK, yet didn't they cause mass posioning there and do dirty money???

They did, via propaganda, however today's nukes are 1000x times stronger than Hiroshima, as for what America also did, they repaid it back to the Japanese the destruction that happened.

@@11111mushu Let's not downplay the destruction those nukes did to Japan. It's really messed up what we did. And saying the bombs back then weren't as strong as today so not as bad gives support for Russia's strategy is to use tactical nukes that won't cause as much damage as the biggest nukes. All nukes are bad and they shouldn't be used by any nation under any circumstances.
