I have just received this special edition with 58mm size. It is really fantastic, super comfortable on my face. So I think my head is a little bit bigger than yours :)

I love my Aviators- however either my eyes are beginning to age or I got soooo used to an Oakley wrap... any sunlight that enters the glass from the side causes a blinding glare, even with the fancy inner lens anti-glare coating. I don't really get that when I wear a pair of Oakleys.
The American Gray lens also is one of those lenses where if you are driving midafternoon and the cloud cover comes out, you really need to consider taking them off because they end up making things really dark and blurring out a lot of contrast. The Oakley gray lens family doesn't do that ever (maybe cause they aren't as dark?). Next pair will have AGX lenses so maybe it won't be as bad or an issue at all.

I'm in a process of buying my first pair of Randolph sunglasses and really not sure which finish and lens combination would look the best with the Aviator.
I definitely want one of these precious metal finishes and hesitating between the 23k Gold and 23k White Gold.
Also not sure about the lenses... Cobalt, American Gray or AGX?

Was waiting for a video on this, Randolphs frames are quite amazing.
Really have been anticipating this set, my only problem is choosing between Concordes or Aviators. Might have to go both.

    • @ShadeReview

I know right such a hard choice! Personally I prefer the aviator over the Concorde

    • @NorthernLaw_

@@ShadeReview I can't get over just the classic Aviator style (as in the Concorde)
Which btw makes me ask, why does Randolph call the true Aviator a Concorde, while the other one is called the Aviator?
When you think Aviator, you think that classic teardrop style you see in Ray-Bans, but also every other brand. Randolph does it differently, I'm sure there is a reason but not sure why

@@NorthernLaw_ Aviators was a style coined by US military when B&L first made it for them. Later, the US military ordered a new updated-spec model for aviators, commissioned to Randolph Engineering. Basically Aviators is the military term for the particular sunglass model for the pilots.

Are you still preferring the 52mm these days? I had 2 pairs in 55mm and then got the TS Military olive which only come in 58mm. Now I like the 58mm so much more that I repurchased the first 2 pairs in 58mm.

I think the frame 55mm fit on your face. But my question is the temples fit on your head or not. Do you feel comfortable if wearing it for 3-4 hours, cause I saw the temples have a little bit bending.

    • @ShadeReview
      @ShadeReview  Před měsícem +1

They are designed to bend out like that!
Not only can I wear the 55 mm size for 3 to 4 hours at a time of about feeling any discomfort I can also wear the smaller 52 mm lens size without any discomfort on the temples
